if i tell you a secret about me

will you be sure not to tell anyone else?

when i say that i like you,

will you keep it to yourself and reject me politely?

or will you tell everyone

so i can be humiliated publicly?

warning: underage drinking

When someone says "let's have a sleepover!" they usually probably mean that at some point they want to sleep. A sleepover with Minhee, however, meant doing some illegal things. And no sleep.

Mae regretted it as soon as she rang Minhee's doorbell.

"Your parents home?" Minhee paused to think for a moment, and then vigorously shook her head. Mae sighed and lugged her backpack through the house, down to the basement, where she saw a few of their other friends sitting in a circle.

"Who are we sacrificing?"

"Minhee probably," Emily replied, laughing. Minhee returned from upstairs with a suspiciously bottle-shaped thing in her sweater.

"Minhee...what are you hiding...?" Molly asked, eyebrows furrowing in annoyance.

"A water bottle!" Minhee shouted, cackling. Not convinced, Mae took the bottle out of her hands and sniffed it.

"How much did you drink?!" Minhee turned away sheepishly, her face slightly red.

"Half."

"Half of what?"

"You don't need to know~" she slurred and began running around the room. 2 minutes later, she slumped across the couch. Molly grabbed the bottle from Mae's hand and poured it down the sink. Moni pulled Minhee by the arm and shoved her to the ground.

"Sorry sorry~" she said softly, nuzzling her face into Mae's neck. Emily clapped her hands and everyone sat back in a circle.

"Now let's get down to business," Emily said, "tell me all your secrets." When no one responded, Minhee reached out and pinched Jasmyn's cheeks.

"Tell me!" she yelled.

"Well, here goes my dignity. So you know how I apparently hate guys?" Everyone nodded. "There's one guy I don't completely hate," she muttered sheepishly.

Minhee rolled around on the carpet and looked up to say: "No shit, it's Jasper!" and then her head fell back down. The rest of the girls rolled their eyes, slightly laughing at her (endearing) stupidity.

"Not like that you dumbass, an actual guy who isn't related to me!" Realization suddenly dawned on Minhee's face, and she shouted "WHO WHO WHO WHO WHO?!"

"Can we please leave her upstairs?" Molly asked, sighing.

"Forget it. Just ignore it and she'll probably forget about it tomorrow morning," Mae replied, stroking Minhee's hair in an effort to get her to sleep.

"Jasmyn, you still have to answer our question!" Emily cried, exaggeratedly throwing a pillow at her.

"Uh...I think Toad's kinda maybe not bad-looking?" There was a second of silence and then Minhee suddenly started shrieking at the top of her lungs.

"YES GET TOGETHER PLEASE I'VE WAITED FOUR YEARS FOR THIS!"

"Minhee, shut up." Minhee pouted and sat back down.  Mae sat there, her jaw slightly open from surprise.

"You like Toad?!"

"Yes?"

"Toad? As in my dumbass cousin Toad?! Why the fuck would you like him when you knew what he did?"

"Wait what happened?" Minhee asked, beginning to sober up a little.

"Well, to make it short, Toad was an assuming idiot and he thought I liked him. So he thought it would be a great idea to reject me in front of everyone in school. Yay me," Jasmyn replied.

"And you still like him?" Moni spoke up.

"I feel like he's changed and he may not actually be a bad guy. Like he's pretty nice to me now and I don't think he's going to do that to me again."

"Ugh," Minhee groaned, "just date and kiss already!" Minhee's head once again dropped to the floor and she began to lightly snore. Jasmyn's blush darkened and she looked away.

"Anyway, Moni what's up with you?" Moni brushed the hair out of her eyes and cleared her throat.

"If it wasn't obvious already, we broke up. Partially because he was childish and jealous and he never allowed me to hang around with Jasper and Mark and any of the other guys. And partially because I probably wasn't ready for a relationship myself. We're in high school. We were fourteen. Of course we didn't know what we were doing, because we were so young. But I mean we've ended on good terms. Surprisingly, we were both really mature about it and even though most relationships won't end happily, we're both okay with it."

"Wow. That's a lot," Mae replied.

"How are you doing now?" Molly asked carefully, "like I know that it's a touchy topic and yeah I bet you cried a lot, but really, how was it?"

"Breakups suck. I mean love in general sucks. That's why the other day, I was trying to advise you guys against it, but remember, it's still always up to you."

"I wish there was a way to be in love with out being heartbroken. But I guess it'll never be like that," Jasmyn supplied. They were suddenly interrupted by Minhee's loud snore, which resulted in loud laughs from the whole group. Mae glanced at the clock.

"Guys, it's like 3 AM. I think we should sleep." The girls set out their sleeping bags and pillows and after wishing their good nights, they slowly began to quiet down and the room was only filled with quiet snores and ticks of the clock.
