liv. children are taken by a monster
avatar: the way of water

Too much has happened in such a short time. Lo'ak had bonded with a Tulkin — Payakan, Odessa had learnt that if Kiri were to connect to a spirit tree again than she may have fatal consequences, Tuk fell and scraped her knee, Jake was yelled at, Ronals spirit sister died, and oh the children were kidnapped.

Tsireya, Neteyam, Tuk, Lo'ak and Ak'tari were all tied to the railing of the ship the stood on. Five children whom had been taken against their will by the monster that had caused them pain.

"Ah, thank you." Quaritch smirked as he plucked the voice com from Neteyam, placing it over his own so he could communicate with the two he had once fought with. He spoke in English, something that the struggling children in front him had almost started to forget. "Odessa, Jake, I know you two can hear me." His smirk never left his face as he stood behind Neteyam and grabbed ahold of his braid, tugging on it to inflict a shooting a pain. "Tell your friends to stand down. You want your kids back? You two come out alone, you know better than to test my results."

They did know better. Nothing would ever be the same now. Jake and Odessa shared looks, words and actions as they told Tonowari and Ronal that they would safely get all the children off the boat, even if it meant they would give up their lives. The warriors of the Metkayina clan all lowered their weapons, standing down as Odessa and Jake made their way towards the ship that floated in the water.

From where Odessa was now, Neteyam could see her clearly. He watched as she swung her bow over her shoulder and held her hands up high. She surrendered first, once she was close enough to the boat that someone could haul her up and hold her hostage as well. They did.

Neteyam and all the other children could only watch as Odessa was forced to her knees with a gun pressed against the back of her temple.

Jake was still in the water, hands above his head as he tried to make a deal with Quaritch. He wanted the children to be untied, for them all to have a chance at leaving in return for his surrender. Odessa had helped him in a way, giving the devil some form of leverage that also helped Jake.

Neteyam tore his gaze away from his mamma, when he saw Tsireya, Tuk and Ak'tari panicking from his side view. "Hey, it is okay." His words didn't calm them down as now he started to fight against his restraints.

As Jake moved closer, he felt a shift in the water. Before he knew it, Payakan, Lo'ak spirit brother, was now moving out of the water and landing on the ship. It forced the ship to jolt, causing Odessa to lose her safety near the children.

A war had officially started once the humans fired at the creature.
