Elijah was stood with Rossi in the station, watching the police report on the news about the car explosion.. He was anxiously chewing his nails, praying that it wasn't Reid or Fleur.

"David? Elijah? I heard on the radio, I tried the others but-" Reid quickly hugged Elijah once he knew he was safe.

"Oh thank god." Elijah pulled Reid close to him.

"Cell phone system is crashing." Rossi shook his head.

"A car bomb, did they say where?" Reid asked.

"No." Elijah shook his head, cupping Reid's face,"Can you recall every site where the shootings occurred?"

"Um.. Hells Kitchen, Murray Hill, Lower East Side and Chinatown." Reid remembered.

"Alright. If our profile is correct and all eight murders were tests to gauge response times then we're looking at eight suicide bombers that are about to hit every one of those locations." Rossi explained,"Now call Homeland Security. Tell them to pour troops into all of those sites."

"Actually, if we're correct, it will be sixteen suicide bombers." Reid nodded, pulling away from Elijah.

"Sixteen?" Rossi raised a brow.

"Yeah, we predicted that they'd hit the second wave of emergency responders as well." Reid explained

That's when the three of them turned back to the news... The bomb was inside a black SUV parked close by 26 Federal plaza. Hearing about the SUV, Elijah quickly reached forward and grabbed the phone.

"Elijah? We heard there was some kind of explosion." Garcia answered the phone.

"Where are you?" Elijah asked her.

"I just walked into CCTV Command Post."

"Can you see anything?"

"I've literally just walked in." Garcia sighed.

"We just got on the news that it was an SUV that exploded. A black SUV within blocks of the Federal Plaza." Elijah told her, his hands shaking.

"Oh my god.."

"Now, do you have eyes there?" He questioned.

"I.. Yeah. Yeah, I've got like three hundred cameras right there. Give me a sec." Garcia typed.

"I'm here with Reid and Rossi, but I don't know where anyone else is." Elijah shook his head,"And Garcia?"

"Yes?"

"Find them, please." Elijah hung up.

Once Morgan had pulled up at the explosion site, he and Fleur got out, running over to the first responders.

"Hey! Who's in charge here?" Fleur asked, the two showing their badges

"Captain Warner." The officer pointed towards him.

"Let's get this area cleared as quickly as possible, we got people down there." Warner was giving out instructions.

"Captain Warner." Morgan walked up to him, badge out,"I'm Agent Morgan and this is Agent Howards, FBI. We're looking for Agent Hotchner. Aaron Hotchner?"

"Go back to the Federal building. There are evac marshaling spots. Check in and make sure they know where you are." Warner spoke.

"I am not about to do that." Morgan stepped in front of Warner.

"Get out of my face or I'll have to bodily remove you, Agent." Warner spat.

"Please, we're here!" Hotch called out from beyond the barrier.

"Hotch." Fleur turned, going to run to him.

"Hey, the area's restricted." An armed officer stopped her.

"That's our boss down there." Fleur pointed.

"My orders are what they are." Warner told her.

"I don't give a damn what your orders are." Morgan scoffed.

"I get it, Agent, but we've been told by you that 'Responders are the targets'. So, until the blast site is cleared, no one goes in." Warer pointed.

"You're Marine Corps, right? Right?" Morgan pushed.

"Please, go back to the marshalling point." Warner sighed.

"We're not doing it." Fleur shook her head.

"I'm not gonna let my man lie down there like that." Morgan pointed.

"Someone! Damn it! We're here!" Hotch cried.

"Never leave a man behind, you do remember that, don't you?" Morgan turned to Warner.

"We're here! Please!" Hotch pleaded.

"Go." Warner sighed.

"Hotch!" Fleur shouted, the two quickly running towards their friend,"Hotch!"

"Hotch." Morgan knelt beside Hotch.

Kate was on the ground, unconscious and bleeding out. Another man, a younger man, was also kneeling by Hotch.

"We've got to get her out of here." Hotch shook his head.

"They're not letting any ambulances down here until they clear the scene." Morgan told him before looking at the younger man,"Kid, you gotta get behind the barricades. Go!"

"Go, Sam." Hotch nodded.

Fleur looked towards the boy as he slowly ran off. Why was he the only one around? Unhurt.

"Talk to me. Can we carry her? Hotch, can we carry her?" Morgan asked, having to repeat himself.

"No, I tried. Morgan, she's going to bleed to death if we don't get her out of here. We gotta try something." Hotch shook his head.

Fleur looked down at her phone as it rang, answering it.

"Fleur, are you there?" Garcia asked quickly.

"Yeah, Garcia. We got Hotch but you gotta listen to me, you gotta get somebody down here right away. Right now." Fleur nodded.

"Fleur, that kid- That's the bomber." Garcia told her.

"Quoi? You're absolutely sure?" Fleur looked up at Sam.

"I-I am positive, Fleur."

Fleur quickly hung up. Sam had his arms spread, a smirk on his face.

"Boys- The kid, he's the bomber."

Hotch lowered his head,"Go."

Morgan looked at Fleur,"Stay here." He nodded before running off.

Soon after Morgan left, an ambulance pulled up near them, a paramedic running out to them.

"She's got an arterial bleed in her back, and I'm doing my best to hold it closed." Hotch told the paramedic.

"Are you okay?" The paramedic asked Hotch as he knelt beside them.

"I just want to get her out of here." Hotch sighed.

Fleur looked towards the ambulance before back at the paramedic as he began to speak.

"Her pulse is weak and thready. I'm going to need your help, okay?" The paramedic looked at him as he unzipped his bag.

"Is the area clear?" Fleur asked.

"He was calling for help and I couldn't listen anymore." He shook his head,"My partner was too afraid to come in here with me."

"Kate, we're going to get you out of here. We're on our way out of here." Hotch assured Kate.

"These are stills from all the murder sites." Rossi sighed as he looked at them.

"Garcia had us on conference and the system crashed." Emily ran into the room.

Elijah was getting worried, Fleur hadn't answered his calls.

"Emily!" JJ hurried in.

"Thank god you're alright. Where's Will?" Emily asked.

"He's stuck at the airport. As soon as I heard, I went to 29 Fed." JJ told them,"Where is everyone?"

"Morgan and Fleur are alright but there's still no word from Hotch." Reid nodded.

"The bomber! The bomber! Morgan's chasing after him." Garcia spoke over the computer.

"What?" Elijah blinked.

"The bomb. It was in Kate's SUV or under it. Hotch and Fleur are out there with her. He seems okay but she's really hurt. He hasn't moved her."

"Where was Kate's SUV parked?" Rossi asked.

"Two blocks East of Federal Plaza." Garcia answered.

"Two blocks east and they target Kate's SUV?" Emily raised a brow as Reid wrote on the board.

"Have you ID'd the bomber?" Rossi asked.

"Lisa's running him and dead guy through ViCap." She told him.

"Call Homeland Security. They should be at all the murder sites, see if they found anything." Rossi nodded to JJ.

"I'm on it." She walked off.

"Garcia, find out how we can help Morgan." Elijah shook his head.

"Yes sir." Garcia hung up.

*********************************

"On three. One two, three." The paramedic counted for the Agents.

"Got it." Fleur nodded as the flipped Kate onto her side.

"Okay, I'm going to clamp that artery. When I say move, move your hand and get as far away from me as you can. Got it?" He instructed.

"Yeah." Hotch nodded.

"Okay, move." He clamped her back,"Okay, I need to get a back in to start getting hrr pressure back up. Get the gurney from the bus."

*********************************

"Yes, I understand. Thank you." JJ sighed as she hung up the phone,"Homeland Security poured tactical teams into all of those locations: SWAT, bomb techs, HRT, Hazmat, the works. They found nothing."

Reid was staring at the board, pen in hand. He was thinking.

"Reid?" Elijah put a hand on his shoulder.

"All except one. Kate's SUV. None of the shootings were anywhere near it." Reid blinked.

"Maybe it's personal." JJ shook her head,"This death card they gave us, they delivered on it."

"That's just it, they haven't. With a cell as large as this one and multiple targets to chose from they target a single SUV?" Reid raised a brow.

*********************************

"Where's the closest emergency room?" Hotch asked as he got into the driver's seat of the ambulance.

"Saint Barclay's." He answered.

"Where?" Fleur got in the passenger side.

"Saint Barclay's." He repeated as he worked on Kate.

"And where is it?" Hotch questioned.

"It's four blocks uptown, one block east."

"Where's the emergency entrance?"

"Under the hospital. Just follow the signs to the ER." He pointed.

"Right." Fleur nodded slowly.

"Hey, look who's back. Hello." The paramedic hummed as Kate opened her eyes.

"Is she awake?" Hotch asked.

"Is that Aaron?" Kate looked towards the paramedic.

"Are you Aaron?" The paramedic looked towards Hotch.

"Yeah. Kate, we made it." Hotch told her.

"Thank you." Kate muttered, reaching up.

"Don't thank me." The paramedic shook his head,"Thank your partner. He did it all."

Once Hotch arrived at the hospital, there was police cars blocking the entrance.

"What's this?" Fleur rolled her window down.

"Secret service. We're redirecting all emergencies to Lenox Hill." The officer told her.

"I'm SSA Howards, driving is SSA Hotchner and we have SSA Joyner on board. She was injured in the bomb blast at Federal Plaza." Fleur explained.

"Credentials."

Fleur felt in her pocket,"No- I left mine with my partner."

"Mine are in my jacket back at the Plaza." Hotch sighed.

"I appreciate that, Agents, but this hospital is on a strict bypass." The officer shook his head.

"What.. What's that?" Hotch asked.

"It means the hospital is closed. We're redirecting all emergencies to Lenox Hill." He repeated.

"She's not going to make it to Lennox Hill." Hotch spoke in a hushed voice.

"I'm losing her!" The paramedic yelled as Kate flatlined,"She's crashing! She's crashing!"

"Please." Hotch pleaded.

"Open it up." He nodded as he took out his radio,"This is Delta 2. I need immediate ER attendance."

Once they were inside the hospital, Kate was pulled away on a gurney, nurses working on her straight away.

Fleur looked towards Hotch, "Hotch?"

Hotch looked.. Completely out of it. Dazed. He stumbled over to the nurse's station and grabbed on to steady himself before he fell to the ground.

"Aaron!" Fleur gasped, quickly kneeling down as a nurse came over,"He needs medical attention. He was in the Plaza blast."

"Get him on a gurney." The nurse turned as Hotch passed out.

*********************************

"Morgan and Fleur are safe." Emily told the others before putting the phone back to her ear.

"Thank goodness." Elijah muttered.

"This is the Unsub Morgan chased into the Subway. This is the one Prentiss shot." Reid pointed at the pictures,"Garcia's running them through ViCap."

"These are smart, well-educated kids, handpicked and trained to be martyrs. They're not going to be on government file and they won't have rap sheets." Rossi sighed.

"Hotch, Fleur and Kate are at Saint Barclay's hospital." JJ walked over.

"How are they?" Rossi looked up.

"Well, Fleur's alright but Hotch is in the ER and Kate is in surgery. Morgan's heading down there now." JJ told them.

"The media's reporting this as a failed attack on 26 Federal Plaza." Emily sighed.

"Well, it's not." Elijah blinked.

"They're not the only ones. Homeland Security feel the same way." Brustin shook his head.

"They're wrong." Elijah pointed.

"They've found nothing at any of the sites that you told them that these guys are targeting. Maybe this thing is over." Brustin shrugged.

"Or maybe thats exactly what they want us to think." Elijah crossed his arms

"As soon as the bomb techs identify this device, I want to know about it." Rossi stated.

"Of course." Brustin nodded.

"Can you get in tighter on the bomber?" Rossi asked, looking at the laptop,"There. In his hand. He's using a cell phone."

"Joyner and Hotch approach and bam." Brustin sighed.

"Why not wait until they both get in?" Emily bit her nails.

"I guess he figured he was close enough." He shrugged.

"Wouldn't you wait until they were in it?" Emily pointed.

"So far, these guys have accomplished nothing." Reid shook his head.

"Nothing? My partner was shot. Cooper? Eight innocent people were killed. Two agents blown up, not to mention Emily's suicide by cop. Is that not enough?" Brustin scoffed.

Elijah gently squeezed Reid's hand before he turned, looking at a poster of the Twin Towers,"That was memorable. This isn't."

*********************************

"Hotch- Aaron, just calm down." Fleur tried to calm Hotch down. He was trying to pull out his wires.

"I just need my clothes." Hotch shook his head as Morgan and the doctor hurried in.

"Agent Hotchner, lie down." The doctor sighed.

"Derek." Fleur quickly hugged him, glad he was okay.

Morgan hugged Fleur back, holding her close to his chest,"I'm here."

"Doctor, I'm alright." Hotch pointed.

"Hotch, stop it. Just calm down." Morgan told him, pulling away from Fleur,"Doc, we got it."

The doctor nodded, leaving the room.

"Morgan- Fleur, where's Kate?" Hotch asked them.

"She's in surgery." Fleur assured him.

"Where are my clothes, please?" Hotch looked around.

"Hotch, your go-bag is on the way." Morgan put a hand on his shoulder.

"Has anything happened since the first blast?"

"No."

"Sam?"

"He's dead." Morgan sighed.

Hotch looked between them,"Guys, the profile is wrong."

*********************************

"Everything- Everything they've done so far has appeared to be something it's not." Rossi cursed.

"I don't follow." Brustin shook his head.

"The seemingly random acts of murder. The attempt to hack into our security surveillance systems." Reid listed.

"The suicide by cop to make us all believe it was over." Emily contiued.

"Don't forget the death card telling us they know we're watching." Elijah added.

"All diversions." Rossi sighed.

"To ensure our attention and analysis of any given situation would then incorrectly inform our profile." Reid explained.

"So the first responders weren't the real targets?" Brustin asked.

"Kate and Hotch were a diversion too." Emily shook her head.

"It's Morgan. Hotch wants you guys over there now." JJ spoke, just off the phone with Morgan.

"What do we tell Homeland Security?" Brustin asked.

"Tell them if they love this city as much as you do, to keep it locked down. It's about to get hit." Rossi ordered.

*********************************

"Are you okay?" Elijah asked Hotch.

"Yeah, I just want to understand why I'm still alive." Hotch sighed, Fleur hugging Elijah.

"We think the idea was to maim, not to kill." Reid told him.

"I'm glad you're okay." Elijah whispered to Fleur, one hand in her cardigan pocket that he had been wearing.

"I'm glad you're okay too." Fleur hummed.

"Did you identify Sam, the bomber?" Hotch began putting his jacket on.

"Garcia put Sam and the other dead Unsub through every known database. Nothing." Reid shook his head.

"We know how terror cells evolve. They learn from one campaign to the next. How to stay off radar, like the London bonbers." Rossi mentioned.

"Yeah, but they hit at 8:50 in the morning with a series of coordinated blasts aimed at London's transport system." Hotch pointed out,"And this cell targeted a lone SUV where the only people on the street were two federal agents."

"If it's not multiple targets, it's one target. One target, one bomb." Morgan nodded.

"Garcia said the device was placed under Kate's SUV." Rossi told him.

"It's likely made using oxidizing agents, including chromates, peroxides, perchlorates, chlorates and red Mercury all jammed into a device no larger than a cell phone." Reid explained.

"Imagine what a bomb the size of an oil drum could do." Elijah sighed.

"Yeah, but to make something that big you'd need a chemical engineer." Fleur pointed.

"Like the recently deceased, Dr Azahari Husin, Asia's most wanted bomb-maker. Authorities dubbed him the 'Demolition Man'." Rossi crossed his arms,"He treated each bomb like a work of art. One wrong move, he becomes a victim of his own creation. He'll be more revered than all of the people who died as a result of his devices."

"Stop the bomber. Stop the bomb." Emily sighed.

"To do that we need to know how they would deploy something that big." Morgan nodded.

"Hotch?" Reid nodded towards the computer.

Hotch turned and watched the footage play, the footage of the SUV bomb going off.

"Did you ever find Sam's cellphone?" He asked.

"Yeah." Morgan nodded.

"Did he call 911?"

"No. He did one number, six times every few minutes." Morgan shook his head.

"It was a disposable cell." Rossi nodded.

"Garcia tracked the number, but it went dead minutes after Sam died. Whoever had it destroyed it." Reid shrugged.

"Well, if he didn't have a secondary device to detonate, there's only one reason why he stayed with us." Hotch realized.

"To make sure the ambulance got to us." Fleur looked up.

"In a city on lockdown, an ambulance with it's sirens blaring and lights on, it's going to make it's way through almost every roadblock virtually uncontested." Emily sighed.

"And straight into a hospital with a bypass order on it." Fleur cursed.

"What?" Elijah blinked.

"The Secret Service has a bypass on this hospital." Hotch told them

"Secret Service? Who are they protecting?' Rossi raised a brow.

"That's who Sam was calling, the paramedic on the ambulance." Reid sighed

"The ambulance that I drove in here. This hospital it the target. Lets go." Hotch hurried off.

*********************************

"Where's the ambulance?" Reid asked.

"It should be underneath us." Hotch shook his head.

The Agents ran down to the underground parking lot, the ambulance gone. No sign of anyone so far.

"It's quiet.. I don't like it." Elijah sighed.

"Where's Derek?" Fleur looked between them.

Everyone looked around and Morgan was.. Nowhere to be seen.

"Call him." Elijah nudged her.

Fleur quickly ran off to the side, calling him, anxiously waiting for him to pick up. Soon enough, Morgan did pick up the phone. Fleur could hear cars in the background, he was driving.

"Hey, Flo.."

".. Derek, you better not be driving that ambulance."

"I.. Am driving that ambulance."

"Are you out of your mind?"

"Look, I have to do this. Garcia's got a cell blocker on the guy but it's only got a minute left." Morgan shook his head.

"We can stop the guy. The others are already on their way, ditch the ambulance." Fleur told him.

"Not in the middle of the road, I'm getting it as far away from people as I can." Morgan sighed.

"You don't have a lot of time left. Derek, please." Fleur shook her head.

"Flo, you know I love you, right?" Morgan asked.

"You can tell me you love me when I see you out of that ambulance." Fleur held her head.

"Flo, there's something I really want you to know."

"What?" Fleur sighed.

"You know what you are, Flo?"

"Save it, get out!" Fleur cursed.

That's when Morgan went silent, an explosion being heard soon after.

"..Derek?" Fleur whispered, standing frozen, she couldn't move.

"Fleur? What is it?" Elijah walked up to her.

"He- Elijah.." Fleur turned to him.

"Come here." Elijah held his arms open.

Fleur quickly hugged Elijah, tears coming to her eyes,"He can't be- Eli.. What do I do?"

"We.. We wait. Maybe he's okay?" Elijah rubbed her back.

"I heard the explosion..." Fleur shook her head, looking down at her phone which was still connected to Derek.

Elijah held Fleur tightly and kissed her forehead. Although.. That's when they heard a voice coming from the phone.

"Fleur? I'll tell you what you are to me. You are my God-given solace. Woman, you promise me one thing. Whatever happens, don't you ever stop talking to me."

"I can't right now because I'm mad at you." Fleur muttered.

"I can wait, chérie." Morgan told her.

Fleur wiped a tear and handed the phone to Elijah.

"You bastard, you scared the shit out of us." Elijah cursed.

"I couldn't let everyone die." Morgan sighed,"Is everyone okay?"

"Aside from us being mad at you, yes. Everyone else is fine."

"We stop 'em?"

"The paramedic.. Ended things for us." Elijah nodded.

"Thank god. I'll be back soon." Morgan sighed.

"You better be." Elijah pointed as he hung up.

*********************************

"Did wr ever find out who the Secret Service were protecting?" Emily asked as the plane took off.

"I never thought to ask.. And they're all dead." Elijah nodded slowly,"Serves them right for taking the lift during an emergency."

"Didn't they ever get taught to use the stairs?" Fleur joked.

"Clearly not." Reid shook his head.

"I'm just glad everyone is okay."

"And we're always going to be." Elijah assured her.

"I'm so hungry." Rossi hummed.

"I nearly forgot- We were going to order that Chinese before this whole fiasco started." Elijah turned to Reid.

"Can I use my own chopsticks?" Reid asked.

"I don't see why not."

"I think Italian would be better." Rossi held his hands up.

"Who would've guessed that one?" Emily hummed.

"So JJ.. Baby news?" Fleur smiled.

"Baby is doing good so far." JJ told her,"We don't know what we're having yet."

"I'm so excited for you." Fleur hummed.

"Have you got any name ideas?" Reid asked her.

"Not yet." JJ shook her head.

"As long as I don't need to babysit, I'm sure this child will be wonderful." Elijah nodded.

"We'll see." JJ pointed.

"We will." He hummed.
