"I don't know.. It's early. Ice cream shouldn't be eaten for breakfast." Morgan tilted his head.

"Reid said eating ice cream for breakfast is a good thing." Elijah pointed.

"No he didn't." Morgan chuckled.

"I think its a great idea." Elijah shrugged.

"Of course you think it's a great idea." Fleur walked in with Adelaide.

"I listen to the best sources." Elijah crossed his arms,"Reid said it boosts mental performance."

"What does?" Adelaide ran over,"Jah!"

"Good morning, my little ray of sunshine." Elijah hummed, scooping her up.

"Little ray of devil." Morgan muttered.

"Liar." Adelaide pointed, hugging Elijah.

"Ti amo tanto." Elijah hummed.

"Ti amo." Adelaide nodded.

"She's a fast learner." Elijah patted her head,"Now, what do you say about breakfast?"

"Ice cream." Adelaide hummed.

"Fine. But only because grannies are coming here." Fleur pointed.

"Huzzah, I have won." Elijah smiled.

"No, Addy won." Fleur hummed.

"Addy won.. A battle that we were both fighting."

"Better.' Fleur nodded, "Any flavour?"

"Ice cream is ice cream." Elijah shrugged, putitng Adelaide down,"What about you, June Bug?"

"Mint choc chip." Adelaide sat in her seat.

"I like that choice." Derek grabbed the ice cream.

"Such a smart girl." Elijah nodded.

"I think you all should just come to Florida." Adelaide sighed.

"I wish I could." Elijah told her.

"We all do. Tell you what, Mama will try and get a week off soon. Papa and Uncle Jah can come too, hm?" Fleur kissed her head.

"Yeah!" Adelaide smiled.

"It's a deal." Fleur hummed.

"We'll make it work." Elijah nodded.

"Ice cream's served." Morgan placed the bowls in front of everyone.

"Thank you, Morgan." Elijah hummed.

That's when a knock at the door was heard.

"They're here!" Adelaide gasped.

"Finish up your ice cream, Cherie." Fleur nodded and ran to the apartment door, opening it up.

Awaiting her at the door, were both of her mothers.

"Mama, Mom." Fleur smiled, hugging them.

"Fleur, it's always so nice coming here to see you." Ruth hugged back.

"Especially if it's only picking Addy up." Fleur nodded.

"I do love my grandbaby."

"Morgan and Elijah are here too." Fleur pulled away.

"Oh, I've heard enough about Uncle Jah to last a lifetime." Gail sighed.

"Addy loves him." Fleur walked in.

"Oh, we know." Gail shook her head as she and Ruth followed.

"Mrs Howards." Morgan stood up.

"Derek." Gail nodded.

"How was the trip?"

"The trip was fine."

"I'm glad. Would you like tea or coffee?" Morgan asked.

"No, thanks." She shook her head.

"Okay." Morgan nodded,"Elijah?"

"Hm?" Elijah turned sharply.

"Say hello." He cleared his throat.

"Yes- Hello. Hello Ma'am." Elijah nodded quickly.

"Elijah." Gail nodded.

"Hello Elijah." Ruth smiled.

"Wonderful- To see you- Yes." Elijah sighed.

"Where's Adelaide?" Gail crossed her arms.

"Granny! GG!" Adelaide ran over to them.

"Sweetheart." Ruth smiled, hugging her.

Adelaide hugged back,"I've got more stories to tell you!"

"Let me guess, about Elijah?" Gail crouched down.

"Yeah, Uncle Jah was in trouble." Adelaide nodded.

"Huh?" Gail looked at Elijah.

"What?" Fleur walked up.

"It's nothing, dear." Elijah shook his head,"I'm fine, see?"

"What did Uncle Jah do?"

"Uncle Jah was in the hospital." Addy pointed.

"Since when? Was he okay?" Ruth gasped.

"Ruth, I'm alright. I'm just fine." Elijah assured her.

"The bad man put something in his drink."

"What?" Gail blinked.

"He was drugged." Fleur sighed.

"And I'm fine. I promise."

"You sure sweetheart?" Ruth walked over to him.

"Yeah.. Yeah, I'm fine." Elijah rubbed the back of his neck.

"I'm glad. Well, we best be off." Ruth sighed.

"It was lovely seeing you both." Morgan nodded.

"I'll be phoning later." Gail pointed,"Be good, Derek."

"I will, I promise." Morgan told her.

"I'm watching you." Gail warned,"Come on, Addy."

"Coming." Adelaide hummed.

"Bye, my sweet. Mama loves you." Fleur kissed Adelaide's head.

"I love you too, mama." Adelaide smiled,"Bye Papa, bye Uncle Jah."

"Bye Peanut." Morgan waved.

"Stay safe." Elijah hummed.

"You most." Adelaide pointed.

The Howards waved, grabbing Adelaide's belongings and leaving for their trip back to Florida.

"I miss her already." Elijah sighed.

"You and me both." Fleur shook her head.

*********************************

Not long after, they were called into the office where JJ started to explain the case.

"Daniel Keller, 21. A junior at Benjamin Franklin University. He was killed last night while spring-breaking in South Padre Island. COD, asphyxiation." JJ began,"He was the second victim to be murdered there in the past three nights. The first was William Browder, also on spring break. COD, asphyxiation. They were also both sexually assaulted prior to death."

"Men being raped and murdered on spring break? That's a twist." Emily blinked.

"So far, the deaths have been localized to one hotel." Hotch told them.

"The Hudson Street Hotel. Initially, the hotel was filled to capacity, but lost 20% occupancy overnight." JJ sighed.

"Well, we should get a list of everyone that works there. There's a very good chance one of them is the Unsub, or at the very least has interacted with him." Morgan pointed.

"Yeah, Garcia is already on that. Both victims were discovered by hotel staff, the last after online checkout indicated the room had been vacated."

"So, he wanted the bodies discovered, and sooner rather than later." Elijah nodded slowly.

"Look at the way they're posed. Naked, cowering in the fetal position." Reid walked over to the screen.

"He's sending a message. This means something to him, we just need to figure out what." Rossi sighed.

"And we need to do it soon. The police suspect the UnSub could be another vacationing student, though I'm not willing to rule out local involvement." Hotch stood up.

"Makes sense. If the killer is a student, they could be halfway across the country by the time we're onto them." Rossi nodded.

"If he's a local, we could lose him as soon as his victim pool dries up." Fleur added.

"Either way, we're almost out of time. South Padre's spring break season ends this weekend." Hotch shook his head.

*********************************

"Nation media's picked up on this story. We're gonna have to make a statement when we land." JJ sighed as they sat on the jet.

"We want to make people aware without obviously causing panic." Hotch shook his head.

"Stress hyper vigilance. The whole buddy system, yeah, I'm all over it. I just don't think anyone's gonna listen." Fleur shook her head.

"What do you mean?" Reid asked.

"Come on, drunk college students don't exactly want to hear they shouldn't talk to strangers." Fleur sighed.

"Right." Reid nodded slowly.

"Was there any DNA left on the scene?" Emily asked Garcia who was on call.

"Yeah, too much DNA. This portion of The Garcia Show will be brought to you by the letter 'I' for icky. The lab has recovered over 100 different trace samples as multiple guests creates a cesspool of DNA. Also, there is no way to determine the exact time of secretion or to eliminate anyone actually working at the hotel." Garcia answered.

"Were you able to find any connection between the first two victims?" Morgan leaned forward.

"No, they grew up in different states, they went to colleges on opposite coasts. I did the whole cross-referenced credit card thing, couldn't make a connect." Garcia shook her head.

"So the hotel's the only common denominator?" Rossi asked.

"Yeah, and it should be noted that the first victim, William Browder, wasn't exactly a registered guest." Garcia told them.

"Well, that's a popular thing to do. I mean, youngsters do it all the time. They rent a room, they pack as many kids in as possible to save costs. We could be dealing with hundreds of unregistered guests." Elijah played with his sleeves.

"We need to check every guest, whether they are on the books or not." Hotch shook his head.

"Male raping male. So, are we presuming that our Unsub or victims could be gay?" JJ raised a brow.

"That's not necessarily true. In male rape, sexual preference typically has less to do with the crime than the power and dominance the attacker feels from the act itself." Reid pointed.

"Still, it's a question we should ask the families when we interview them. Could help us determine how the Unsub met the victims." Emily nodded.

"Alright. We got a lot of work to do. Emily, JJ and I will go to the local P.D and start victimology. The rest of you, there's your new home." Hotch showed a picture of the hotel.

*********************************

The team soon arrived at the hotel, walking into the lobby together.

"You must be the FBI." A woman approached them.

"David Rossi. These are agents Morgan, Reid, Howards and Deans." Rossi nodded.

"Julie Riley, I'm the manager." She shook their hands.

"You were on duty when the latest body was discovered?" Fleur asked.

"That's right."

"Did you happen to notice anyone out of the ordinary?" Reid linked arms with Elijah.

"I'm afraid not. You see so many faces during spring break season, they all start to blur." Julie shook her head.

"We need to set up interviews with the rest of the staff as soon as possible. Also talk to the hotel guests." Rossi mentioned.

"Of course." Julie nodded as they started to walk.

"How many cameras do you have on the property?" Elijah raised a brow, looking up at a camera.

"Not enough." Julie sighed,"We have all the main entrances and garage covered but the hallways and the service tunnels aren't equipped."

"Can you show us the room where the last body was found?" Rossi asked.

Julie lead them up towards the room where the body was found, everyone putting their gloves on.

"I'll.. I'll start rounding up the rest of the staff for you to talk to." Julie walked off.

"Thanks." Rossi nodded as he took out his notepad,"No signs of a struggle were reported. Everything seemed normal when housekeeping arrived."

"Look at this. Scratch marks on the foot board." Reid knelt down,"The victims were bound before the struggle began."

"Well, that would make sense. Both victims were in pretty good shape, probably needed 'em tied up in order to control them." Morgan nodded.

"Question is, was it consensual or was it coerced?" Fleur sighed.

"So if I'm the Unsub and this wasn't consensual, how does this work?" Morgan asked.

"He'd need a weapon." Reid told him and Morgan grabbed his gun out his holster.

"A gun to the face means he doesn't scream out." Elijah sat on the bed.

"Look at the distance between where each of the arms were tied. There's no way he could've tied that second hand himself." Reid pointed.

"Which means the Unsub did it for him." Rossi nodded.

"Which would be risky because if he knew he was in danger and he saw the opportunity, he would take it." Fleur shrugged.

"Why not drug him and then tie him up? Eliminate the risk." Elijah crossed his arms.

"The tox screen came back negative." Morgan told him.

"So, it's either consensual or he has a partner." Reid nodded slowly.

"He's also learning fast." Fleur pointed.

"What do you mean?" Rossi asked.

"He hides the body in the closet and then indicates that the guest has checked out. Which means when the housekeeper gets there.." Morgan began.

"Everything looks normal and she starts cleaning, wiping everything down." Rossi nodded slowly.

"Erasing any fingerprints or DNA which could have been left on the scene." Fleur sighed.

"We need to talk to whoever cleaned this room." Rossi pointed,"Maybe they saw something that could tell us who was in here with Dan Keller."

*********************************

"Rooftop, really?" Fleur climbed the stairs.

"Some people like hanging out on roofs, it's quiet." Elijah shrugged.

"I understand that but they at least could have an elevator, I'm not dressed right for stairs."

"An elevator? No, of course not. That would be far too convenient." Elijah chuckled.

"Besides, you don't have good luck with elevators." Fleur hummed.

"Oh, come on!" Elijah sighed,"Why do you always bring that up?"

"It's funny.' Fleur laughed,"Hotch!" She copied his shouting.

"Hey- That was Reid." Elijah pointed.

Fleur shook her head with a laugh as they reached the roof,"Adam Jackson? Your manager said we could find you up here." She showed her badge.

"I- Uh, I get migraines." Adam shot up, looking between the agents and his cigarette.

"You discovered the body last night?"

"Yeah."

"Have you ever seen him before? Or noticed anyone he may have been with?" Fleur asked.

"I'd never seen him before in my life until I opened the closet." Adam turned away,"Now I can't get him out of my head."

"Adam, what about the first victim, William Browder? Had you ever seen him before?" Elijah approached him.

"Never seen either of them." Adam put his hands in his pockets.

"Now, let me ask you this. Is there anything you remember about the room before your discovered the body?" Elijah raised a brow,"It might not seem like much, but the smallest detail could really help us a lot."

"It.. Looked pretty normal. I mean, until I opened the closet door."

"Did anything.. Stand out about the body, or for that matter, anyone at the hotel last night?" Elijah asked.

"No man, you see one drunk frat guy, you've seen them all." He chuckled.

"Adam, I thought you said you didn't recognise him?" Fleur tilted her head.

"I didn't. I just.. I grew up in Corpus Christi, across the bridge. I know the type." Adam told them,"They walk around like they own the place, y'know? They think they can do whatever they want."

"How long have you worked here?" Elijah questioned.

"Six months, I guess." Adam shrugged

"Well, we appreciate your time." Elijah nodded, turning to leave.

"Thank you." Fleur walked off.

"Can I ask you a question?" Adam asked Elijah.

"Of course." Elijah stopped, looking back at Adam.

"You've seen bad stuff, right?'

"Yeah.. Yeah, I have."

"How long before you can close your eyes without it being there?" Adam sighed.

Elijah bit his cheek,"I'm afraid I still don't know."

Adam nodded slowly, backing up. Elijah sighed and walked off after Fleur.

*********************************

"Another spring breaker." Detecive Evans put her hands on her hips.

"Any witnesses?" Morgan asked.

"His friend saw him last night leave the party with a brunette in a green dress." She shook her head,"Both had been drinking for most if the day, and he only caught a glimpse of the girl before they left the party. And he found the body posed just like the others."

"Sounds like out theory about the partner was right." Reid nodded to the others as they walked out onto the balcony.

"Woman lures the victim back, she offers up a little kink, ties him up." Fleur looked at the women down by the pool.

"Only this time, the Unsubs ventured outside of their comfort zone. They changed hotels." Rossi pointed.

"Okay, so what's he doing? Getting bolder or smarter?" Morgan wondered.

"Well, the local police are on alert. The FBI is here. They probably changed patterns to avoid getting caught." Reid nodded.

"Or because they saw us at the other hotel. We need to go back to Hudson Street." Rossi walked off.

*********************************

"Where's Julie?" Adam asked as be sat in the interview room.

"We're trying to find her." Reid nodded.

"She's going to go ballistic." Adam shook his head.

"You're in a lot of trouble Adam, you know that right?" Reid sighed.

"T-the only thing I did wrong was leaving work without telling my boss." Adam stammered,"I.. I need to talk to Julie."

"Adam, why don't you tell me about the fight you had with that first victim?" Fleur asked.

"I.. I-I don't remember."

"You don't remember?"

"Uh... No." Adam was tearing up.

"Adam, we really want to help you out." Reid sighed,"But you're going to have to do a lot better than that."

".. Please, I need to see Julie!"

"Adam, let's talk about the fight you had with the first victim, William Browder." Fleur tilted her head.

"There's nothing to tell. He grabbed Madison, I tried to stop him." Adam shook his head.

"That guy was pretty big." Reid nodded.

"So?"

"Adam, guys like you and I aren't.. We aren't exactly the fighting type"

"Well, Madison's a good person. She didn't deserve to be treated that way." Adam told them.

"See now, I'm really confused. Because you told us that you don't remember the fight." Fleur leaned back in her seat.

"I-I don't. I mean, I don't, but I do." Adam stuttered.

"You don't but you do. Can you explain how that works?"

"I remember he grabbed at Madison. I tried to stop him, and the next thing I remember, Julie was pulling me out of the pool." Adam explained.

Reid looked towards Fleur, tilting his head,"How long have you known each other?"

"We've been friends since I was just a kid."

"Are you lovers?" Fleur asked.

Adam scoffed,"No."

"Well, then why does she pay for everything you have?"

"It's not like its a handout. I mean.. I'm working at the hotel so I can pay her back." Adam told them.

"Does she pay for the drugs also?" Fleur raised a brow.

"I-I told you. I get migraines." Adam shook his head.

"So take a prescription." Reid shrugged.

"I thought you were different." Adam looked away.

"What does that mean?" Reid tilted his head.

*********************************

Elijah was sat with Reid, looking through some of the hotel security footage.

"What you two looking at?" JJ walked over.

"I'm not sure." Elijah shook his head, squinting at the screen.

"Well, they both passed." Fleur sighed.

"How's that possible?" Reid asked.

"Not only that, they passed with flying colours." Emily shook her head.

"The only spike I got on Adam was a control question regarding geometric equations, but, honestly, I think I just flustered him." Morgan shook his head as he sat down,"Either way, we got nothing."

Reid stared off at Adam who was with Julie. Then he turned back to the computer.

"You see something?" Elijah asked quietly, looking over at the pair.

"I'm not sure yet.. I need to keep looking."

Elijah nodded slowly, he didn't trust Adam.. He swore he could see him smirking.

*********************************

After an hour or two, the Agents sat down at the table. Reid was still at the computer.

"So, where are we?" Morgan asked.

"Honestly? Nowhere." Elijah crossed his arms,"We just watched our two most viable suspects walk out the door."

"If Adam isn't our UnSub, then he has all the makings to become one someday." Emily shrugged.

"Reid?" Hotch looked over at him.

"Tell me the question that he spiked on during the polygraph."

"It was a control question to set the baseline." Morgan told him.

"It was a geometric equation?" Reid raised a brow.

"Reid, I really think he was just intimidated. He tried, he got it wrong, but he wasn't supposed to know the answer anyway." Morgan shrugged.

"What if he lied? What if he knew the answer to the question, but intentionally got it wrong?" Reid suggested.

"Why would he do that?" JJ asked.

"Because he realised that he wouldn't know that answer."

"You're loosing me, kid." Morgan shook his head.

"Adam said he isn't getting any rest, he takes midday naps because he's always exhausted. He has a history of blackouts, reclusive behaviour, prolonged repeated abuse suffered at the hands of a dominant male who transferred abuse from his female spouse to his pre-pubescent child." Reid began.

"Where are you going with this?" Hotch questioned.

"What if our UnSub couple isn't a couple at all?"

"Dissociative Identity Disorder." Elijah tilted his head.

"You think Adam is a multiple personality?" Rossi blinked.

"Well, it fits. Recurrent physical abuse, knowledge he shouldn't have. We've seen this before." Emily nodded.

"Look at this. The first intervention is timid, it's apprehensive, right?" Reid turned his computer around and began showing the camera footage,"But then he gets knocked down, there's a moment of calm, then his entire body language changes. I saw this exact same transformation when Adam left the station, only it wasn't rage, it was arrogance. Like the alter ego wanted me to know."

"Why?" Hotch asked.

"I don't know. Power? Control? All I know is the person that stared me down over there was not Adam. He's not assertive like that. He doesn't make eye contact." Reid shook his head.

"So, you think the stress of the interrogation blurred the line between Adam and his alter personality?" JJ raised a brow.

"I think the UnSub surfaced for just a moment. It knew the answer to the question, realised Adam wouldn't and lied." Reid nodded.

"So, Adam and the lady in the green dress are the same person?" Detecive Evans asked as they got up, starting to put their vests on.

"We profiled the duo accurately, only the dominate personality is an alter inside of Adam." Reid told her.

"And Adam has no idea he killed all those people." Emily nodded.

"You could argue that Adam didn't kill those people, a separate person inside of him did." Reid shrugged.

"I don't even know what we do with this." Morgan sighed.

"We take him into custody, we let the courts decide." Hotch told him.

*********************************

The team headed back to the hotel and hurried inside. They needed to find Adam and fast.

"Reid, Howards and Deans, take the roof." Hotch quickly ordered.

"We've got Adam's room." Rossi told him as he ran off with JJ.

Before the others could run upstairs to the roof, they heard someone shouting for Hotch to come to the back. When they got there, there was a small crowd forming as Detective Evans tried to keep them back. Julie.. She was on the ground, bleeding.

"Julie. Julie, can you hear me?" Emily knelt down.

"It's.. Adam." Julie coughed.

"Okay look, help is on the way. I need you not to move." Emily nodded.

"It.. It wasn't him. It was strange.."

"Julie, did he say where he was going?" Hotch crouched down.

"He called himself Amanda.." Julie forced out.

"The alter personality." Reid nodded.

"Reid, you were right. Where would he go?" Morgan asked.

"Not he, she. Amanda. She panicked. She knew that we'd connect this to her." Reid looked up.

"Okay, okay. So, she's feeling the pressure. She obviously knows she's running out of time. Where would she go?" Elijah sighed.

"She's going to go after the man these victims represent." Fleur realised.

"Garcia, please tell me you know the whereabouts of Mark Harrison." Morgan took out his phone.

"The skeezy, wife-beating, child-abusing scumbag? Never left Corpus Christi. Sending his address to your PDA." Garcia typed.

"Go." Emily nodded, still kneeling by Julie.

*********************************

The other Agents soon arrived at the household of Mark Harrison, entering with guns raised. They could hear Amanda from inside the bedroom. Reid opened the door and the Agents soon hurried in. Mark had a plastic bag over his head and Amanda had a knife to his throat.

"Amanda." Elijah spoke slowly.

"Stay back." Amanda warned.

"Put the knife down."

"Stand back or I'll kill him."

"You do not want to do that." Elijah told her.

"Well you don't know what he did." Amanda spat.

Elijah put his gun away,"When Adam's mother died, his stepfather needed a new outlet for his aggression, didn't he?"

"He put Adam in dresses. He beat him. He touched him!" Amanda shouted.

"And Adam was too weak to go through all that alone, right?" Elijah's voice broke,"He was just a little boy. He needed you to protect him."

"I could take it. I was stronger than he was." Amanda looked down at Mark,"He deserves to die."

"Amanda. Amanda, that's not for your to decide. I swear to God, if you put him down and come with me, I will get you and Adam the help you guys need." Elijah promised, holding his arms out.

Amanda took a few seconds to answer,"Adam will be sentenced for what I've done. "You know I can't let that happen." She raised the knife to her own throat.

"Amanda. If you kill yourself, you kill Adam. I don't see how that'd protecting him. And you know what I know? I know that everything you want to do in this world is protect Adam."

"That's all I've ever done." Amanda shook her head.

"Why don't you and I help him together?" Elijah held his hand out.

"You can't help him. I'm the only one. I know what I have to do."

Amanda released Mark and dropped the knife, Morgan cuffing her as JJ knelt beside Mark and removed the bag from his head.

"Adam. Adam.. Adam!" Elijah tried to get through to him.

Amanda just stared at Elijah, there was no Adam..Just her.

"..Eli, he's gone." Fleur sighed.

Elijah stared back at Amanda before he left the room. He lost another one..

*********************************

"Coffee?" Fleur held out a mug to Elijah.

"Not tonight, no." Elijah shook his head.

"You tried your best." Fleur sighed.

"Yeah, and look what happened."

"Sometimes.. We can't save everyone. But that's okay. Because Amanda is keeping Adam safe."

"This whole case.. It's just been messing with me." Elijah sighed.

"Penny for your thoughts?" Fleur sat beside him.

Elijah looked to the side,"James."

"What about him?"

"Well, all those men were sexually assaulted. When we were running through the case, I don't know.." Elijah shook his head,"I can't get him out of my head."

Fleur took Elijah's hand,"Well he won't ever hurt you or anyone again."

Elijah squeezed her hand,"Sometimes I have to go sit outside in the middle of the night and just.. Think."

"Yeah? That's good."

"It's.. Not good thinking."

"You know if you ever feel like that, I'm here for you." Fleur assured him.

"I know I just.. I don't like talking about it a lot."

"I know, but I'm here. Always and forever."

Elijah smiled softly and leaned against Fleur.

"We're like um.. What's that movie with the toys who come alive? L'histoire de jouet." Fleur clicked her fingers.

"Toy Story?" Elijah raised a brow.

"Toy story." Fleur pointed,"Buzz and Woody."

"Who's who?"

"Hm.. Derek?" Fleur tapped him.

"Yeah, Flo?" Morgan turned to her.

"Out of me and Eli, who's Buzz and who's Woody?"

"Oh, now that's a tricky one." Morgan nodded slowly.

"Statistically, I'd say Elijah is Woody." Reid spoke.

"What makes you say that, kid?" Morgan asked.

"Look at him." Reid shrugged with a smile.

"This town ain't big enough for the both of us, partner." Elijah put on an accent

The team laughed when they heard Elijah, shaking their heads.
