Elijah was sat in his room, playing with a doll. He didn't remember where he got it from, but she was pretty and he enjoyed playing with her. Even at his age, it wasn't normal for teenage boys to play with dolls, but Elijah loved them. His mother would probably kill him if she found his dolls, but it was worth it. The dolls were his friends, his only friends.

"Elijah!" Stacy called from downstairs.

Elijah sighed and got up, hiding his doll with the others underneath his bed before he walked down the stairs.

"Hurry up, oh my gosh." Stacy rolled her eyes,"How long does it take?"

"I apologize, mother." Elijah nodded.

"Your father needs you in the basement."

"Did he say what for?"

Stacy crossed her arms,"Your father needs you. Now go."

Elijah nodded and walked past Stacy, heading down into the basement. He wasn't a fan of the basement, too cold.

"Elijah?" Benjamin looked up.

"I'm here, father." Elijah answered.

"Good. What did your mother say?"

"That you needed me."

"God, she's useless." Benjamin rolled his eyes, and he lead Elijah out of the basement and out of the house,"Say, why don't you come out with me today?"

"You want me to come with you?" Elijah smiled.

"If you'd like." He shrugged.

"I would like to." Elijah nodded.

"Hop in." Benjamin opened the truck.

Elijah grinned and happily got into the truck with his dad. Benjamin looked around, closing the back of the truck before getting in the front. Elijah hummed and he looked out of the window as they drove.

"Where should we go? You tell me and we'll go."

"Well, what are you looking for?" Elijah asked.

"A woman." He shrugged.

"I saw a pretty lady working at the store the other day." Elijah told him.

"Yeah?" Benjamin looked at him.

"Mhm." Elijah nodded,"Smaller than me, curly black hair."

"What age?"

"I'd say early twenties, but she could be younger."

"Perfect." Benjamin nodded.

Elijah grinned, he did a good thing.

"You can bring her back to the car."

"Do you think she'll follow me?" Elijah asked.

"As long as you do everything right." He pointed.

"I won't fail you." Elijah told him.

"I know you won't." Benjamin hummed

Elijah nodded and when they arrived at the store, he got out of the car and entered

"Hi, can I help you?" The lady asked.

"Yes, actually- It's my father." Elijah told her,"He's collapsed outside."

"What?" She looked at him,"Do I call an ambulance-"

"I'm not sure, can you help me get him supported?"

"Yeah, of course." She nodded,"Take me to him."

Elijah lead her back to the car, everything was going according to plan.

"Where's your father?"

"I really am sorry about this, I think you're really pretty." Elijah pulled out his knife and held it against her side,"Just get in the car."

The girl froze,"I.. Okay- Yeah, okay."

"Thank you." Elijah hummed as he held the door open for her.

She looked back before getting in.

"Nice.. Now tie her up." Benjamin ordered.

"Of course, father." Elijah nodded, binding her wrists.

"You don't have to do this." The girl pleaded.

"But we do."

"No you don't. What- What have I done to you?"

"Wrong place at the wrong time, sweetheart." Benjamin answered as he drove.

"I'll take good care of you." Elijah assured her.

"I have money- Is that what you want?"

"No, we don't want money." Benjamin shook his head,"Just teaching my son the tricks of my trade."

"I'm sorry." The girl began to sob.

"Oh, don't be sorry." Elijah patted her shoulder,"It was just.. Bad luck."

"My mother- She's ill. She needs her medication."

"It's a shame that." Benjamin nodded.

"..Oh my god, I'm going to die- That's why you're showing me your faces." She panicked.

"It sounds so bad when you say it like that, we all die eventually." Benjamin shrugged,"You're just going to die.. A little prematurely."

The girl shook her head and whispered,"Oh my god."

"Dying isn't as scary as you think it is.. It's nice." Elijah assured her.

"What?" She turned to him.

"It gets all quiet and cold, but it's really not that bad." Elijah told her,"You won't feel a thing."

"Elijah, stop talking to her now." Benjamin warned.

"Yes, father." Elijah fell silent.

"..No, no. You can talk to me." She nodded,"You're Elijah? I'm Rose."

Elijah looked away, he wasn't supposed to talk anymore.

"..What's your dad's name?" She tried. She needed some information.

Elijah shook his head, tapping his hand against his knee.

"We can be friends.. Please Elijah."

"Don't need friends." Elijah responded.

"It's still nice to talk." Rose shifted.

"Rose, I'm sorry, I can't." Elijah told her.

Rose cursed and hesitated before she kicked Elijah and crawled to the back of the van, trying to get it open.

"Ow- Okay, you don't want to play nice?" Elijah grabbed her arms.

"Let go!" Rose shouted.

"Get her under control before I stop the truck." Benjamin warned.

Elijah panicked and wrapped his hands around her neck.

"Stop-" Rose pleaded as she fought.. Before slowly going limb.

"I.. I did it." Elijah looked back at his dad.

Benjamin looked back before parking, going round to the back. Elijah sat there looking down at Rose, still not moving.. Like one of his dolls.

"Check her pulse." Benjamin pointed.

Elijah nodded and reached down, pressing his fingers against her neck. Nothing. She was dead.

"I didn't mean to.." Elijah shook his head.

"It wasn't bloody." Benjamin put his hand on Elijah's shoulder.

"I'm sorry, it wasn't how you planned it." Elijah looked up at him.

"We.. Can sort it out later. For now, we need to bury her."

"Okay." Elijah nodded slowly.

"Stay here." He pointed.

Elijah nodded as he sat with Rose, gently playing with her hair.. She'd be at peace now.

"I still think it's a bad idea." Fleur pointed.

"Come on, it's not that bad." Morgan shook his head.

"No, I don't swim. My hair gets all weird." She pointed.

"It'll be fun." He sighed.

"Let me think about it."

"Think real hard."

"Sorry to break this up, but we've got a case." JJ walked up to them.

"Coming." Fleur hummed.

"Wonder what we've got today." Morgan nodded as they walked to the Conference Room.

"Go ahead, Garcia." Hotch nodded for her.

"Right, the body of twenty-one year old Rose Wilson was found buried in a shallow grave at the side of the road." Garcia began,"Her mom reported her missing after she didn't return home from her shift at a local store, she only got the job a week ago."

"Stalker?" JJ suggested.

"She never received any threatening texts or reported anything prior to her going missing." Garcia shook her head.

"If it's one girl, why are we getting the case? Is it connected to another?" Morgan asked.

"That's where it becomes a little complicated." She sighed.

"Over the course of nearly a decade, multiple women who looked like Rose and were a similar age were abducted and killed." Hotch explained,"The only difference here is the MO. The killer never strangled any of the other women."

"So something must've not gone to plan." Fleur nodded.

"He could be devolving, after all these years of structure maybe he's finally losing control of himself." Reid agreed.

"Nearly a decade, what age could he be? Either he started young?"

"There is a theory going around that these killings could be connected to a very similar string of murders that happened and suddenly stopped in England." Rossi crossed his arms.

"England?" Emily blinked.

Rossi nodded,"Nobody was ever caught but.. The victim type and MO was the same."

"Definitely a connection." Morgan sighed.

"So.. He fled England before getting caught and started killing here." JJ nodded slowly.

"Why would he move here though? Something must've happened back home."

"They must've gotten close to catching him, or at least he thought so." Hotch pointed.

"But that was years ago, we're gonna need to do more digging. Rossi nodded.

"I will get on that right away, sir." Garcia told them.

"Wheels up in ten." Hotch stood up.

Elijah was sat on a swing, gently swinging back and forth. He couldn't remember getting there, or why he was there.. But his dad's truck was nearby, meaning he was nearby too.

That's when a girl walked up, she looked like one of his dolls,"Can I sit here?"

"Mhm." Elijah nodded.

"My name's Fleur." She smiled, sitting down on the other swing.

"It's a pretty name." Elijah hummed.

"Thank you.. What's yours?"

"Elijah."

"That's a pretty name, too." Fleur hummed.

"Mother picked it, it's from the Bible." He told her.

"Oh, are you religious?" Fleur asked.

"I can recite the Bible from memory so.. I would say so."

"That's super cool..So why are you at the park yourself?"

"Oh... Well, I don't remember. But I can see my dad's truck, so it must be for a reason." Elijah shrugged.

"I was wondering if you wanted to walk with me? There's a church down there I was wanting to go to." She pointed.

"I can take you." Elijah stopped his swing,"The people there are nice."

"Really?" Fleur smiled,"Come on then." Shs held out her hand.

Elijah happily took Fleur's hand as he stood up, leading her in the direction of the Church.

"Oh, Elijah? My friends are over here. Is it okay if we go there first?" Fleur asked.

"Okay." Elijah nodded slowly.

"They're really really nice." Fleur assured them, walking towards the car.

"You promise?" Elijah asked.

"I super promise."

Elijah smiled, it must be true if she super promised.

"Let's get in." Fleur nodded, opening the door for him.

Elijah hummed as he got in first, sitting in the back of the car.

"Hi Elijah, I'm Spencer and this is Morgan." Reid smiled.

"You've got a pretty name too." Elijah pointed.

"Thank you." Spencer hummed before Morgan drove off.

*********************************

Elijah was sat in the interrogation room. He didn't like it, it was too cramped and there was only one way out. When was his dad coming to get him?

"Elijah? It's me, Spencer." Reid walked in.

"Hi." Elijah waved.

"Hi." Reid chuckled.

"Why am I here?"

"We just want to ask a few questions." Reid assured him.

"Okay." Elijah nodded slowly, tapping his knees.

"So..Where are you from Elijah?"

"England, Sommerset- Not London." Elijah answered.

"Not London." Reid chuckled,"Why are you here then?"

"We moved for dad's work."

"Work.. What does he do?"

"He never really talked about work." Elijah shrugged.

"Surely you know what he does though."

"He says it's business stuff." He told him.

"Of course." Reid nodded.

Elijah looked around the room, playing with his sleeves,"Is my dad here?"

"No, no. Not yet." Reid shook his head,"..Elijah do you know anything about the recent murders that have went on?"

"No.. What happened?" Elijah tilted his head.

"Back in England.. Actually, Somerset there was murders..And now here there's murders with exactly the same things."

"That's sad, murder isn't good."

"No, it's not good. But we just want to make sure that we can give the families truth." Reid showed a picture of Rose,"Does this remind you of anyone?"

"She looks like one of my dolls." Elijah hummed.

"One of your dolls?" Reid tilted his head.

"..Mother doesn't let me but I found some dolls, they're pretty." Elijah told him,"I like dolls."

"..What happens to your dolls? Do they get hurt?"

"No! Never." Elijah quickly shook his head,"I love my dolls."

"What about, these girls?.. Have you seen them before? Any of your dolls." He showed more pictures.

"They do look familiar." Elijah pointed out a few faces.

"Yeah? How come?"

"I see them around, sometimes on our drives."

"Elijah, I'm gonna ask a personal question.. Have you or your dad ever hurt someone?"

"..I'm not supposed to talk about that." Elijah shook his head.

"It's okay. It can stay between us." Reid assured him.

"When dad goes on his drives, he finds a pretty girl and he goes... Bang." Elijah leaned in, whispering,"I'm not very good at it."

"..Have you ever went bang?"

Elijah shook his head,"I've watched him but.. I only tried the other day and she tried to get away."

"And then what happened?"

"I grabbed her... And she stopped moving." Elijah admitted, his knee bouncing.

Reid nodded slowly,"And you and your dad..You buried her?"

"I made sure she was still pretty."

"Of course.. Just like your dolls."

"I didn't mean to.." Elijah looked down.

"It's okay.. You just wanted to make dad proud."

"..Don't tell mother, she won't be happy."

"I wouldn't. I promise." Reid assured him.

"Thank you." Elijah nodded.

"Let me go talk to my friends, okay?'

"Okay." Elijah waved.

Reid gave a small smile before walking out to the others.

"He confessed." Morgan blinked.

"In his own words..Bang." Fleur nodded.

"He talks.. Like a child." Rossi shook his head.

"He probably has the mentality of one. He mentioned to me and Reid there.. His mother doesn't like him having dolls and she won't be happy.. There's definitely something going on." Fleur pointed.

"Garcia, can you find anything on that?" Hotch asked her.

"Let me just.. Oh..Oh god."

"Garcia, what is it?"

"Elijah has been in the hospital quite a number of times for 'accidents' but these are definitely not accidental. These are intentional." Garcia turned the computer around.

"Jesus Christ.." Emily looked away from the screen.

"..He definitely had some head trauma, setting him back a good few years." Hotch nodded.

"That would explain why he acts like that, and possible issues with memory." Rossi crossed his arms.

"Poor kid." Fleur sighed.

"How do you think we should approach this?" JJ asked.

"This kid isn't able to go to jail." Emily shook her head.

"He definitely needs help." Garcia nodded.

"I'll see what I can say to him." Reid sighed and walked back through.

"You're back." Elijah smiled.

"Hey Elijah." Reid hummed.

"What did your friends say?" Elijah asked him.

"They suggested that you go on a little vacation." Reid suggested.

"Where?" He tilted his head.

"I'm not too sure. But I heard it's really fun and you get to play with your dolls with no judgment." Reid smiled.

"Really?" Elijah gasped.

"Yeah." Reid nodded,"With all of them."

"I'd like that."

"And don't worry. We'll talk to your parents."

"Yeah, I can't go anywhere without permission." Elijah nodded.

"You're getting older now, you get to do grown up things." Reid assured him.

"It's going to be so fun." Elijah clapped his hands.

"It really is." Reid nodded.

*********************************

Elijah was sat cross-legged on the couch, playing with his dolls. He liked being able to play with them. Reid had been worrying about Elijah so he was at the institute to visit him. Looking around before laying his eyes on him and walked over.

"Oh- Oh! I know you." Elijah pointed when he spotted Reid.

"Yeah, you remember me?" Reid smiled.

Elijah nodded as he sat his dolls down,"Spencer?"

"Spencer, that's right." Reid nodded.

"Why are you here?" Elijah tilted his head.

"I wanted to come say hi."

"Well- Hi." Elijah waved.

"Hi.. You doing okay in here?"

"It's nice here." He nodded.

"It really is." Reid looked around.

"It really quiet." Elijah hummed,"My brother came in the other day."

"Your brother?"

"Mhm, Ollie."

"Wow, how was that?" Reid tilted his head.

"I don't know.. He was acting all weird." Elijah shook his head.

"How cone?"

"Well, he wouldn't tell me anything about dad and he kept looking at me all sad."

"Do you get on with Ollie?"

"I love my big brother." Elijah hummed,"He wasn't always the nicest."

"No?" Reid blinked.

"No.. He didn't like my dolls."

"Did he hurt your dolls?'

Elijah went quiet,"..They're okay now."

"Of course they are. You're looking after them."

"They won't leave me."

"Never again." Reid promised.

"Thank you." Elijah nodded slowly.

"We're friends now, Eli."

"I've never really had friends before." Elijah hook his head.

"Well, I'm glad to be your first." Reid assured him.

"I'm glad you like me." Elijah smiled as he picked up his dolls.

"Can I play with your dolls?"

"Yes- You can play with any one you like." He held them out.

"Hmm, I think I'll pick this one." Reid pointed towards the blonde

"Ooh, good choice."

"What's her name?"

"Jenny." Elijah hummed.

"Hello Jenny." Reid waved.

"Jenny says hi, she thinks you have pretty eyes." Elijah whispered.

"She does?" Reid gasped.

"Mhm, she does."

"Well, thank you Jenny." Reid smiled.
