Imagine #160: Finals (One-Shot)

You already have a fair share of bad decisions in life, but what you did this day? It's  a bad decision you'll never regret...actually, for you, it's not even a bad decision.

You're in your final year in college and tomorrow is your finals. It's the last wave of examination that you badly need to pass because that will be your key to graduation and to be the valedictorian of your class...but right now, instead of reviewing for the exams...you're in line to meet your most favorite band -- Fall Out Boy. It's worth the risk, right?

The band just arrived yesterday and they even had a concert then which you also attended, you've had no review for 2 days before the exams, you know it's really risky, but you know you wouldn't miss the band for the world.

You're currently in line for their meet and greet and since your turn is still far, you just decided to read some of the notes you have in your bag. You hated doing this instead of just enjoying the moment, but you also don't want to let ignore your studies. At least, you're able to do both things now.

Meanwhile, Patrick, Pete, Andy and Joe are already on the stage and meeting the other fans.

"Looks like some girl already caught Stump's attention." Pete suddenly whispered among the group, teasing Patrick.

"Shut up, Pete. It's not that." Patrick replied shyly as he took another glimpse at you while you're at the line and reading that notebook of yours.

"Calm down, you'll get your turn to meet her." Joe teased him more as the meet and greet continued.

Events like this is always enjoying for Patrick, he really appreciates meeting their fans too but somehow today was different. It's like he's more excited to meet a fan more than a fan is excited to meet him, he doesn't really know what it is...but something about you interests him.

Finally, it was your turn you and walked up to the stage with a huge smile on your face. You're shaking in excitement too as you handshake each of them and when you and Patrick shake hands, it was just perfect for you.

"Thank you for finally going to our country! I've been dying in waiting." you said excitedly and they chuckled.

"Sorry took us a while, didn't know there's a lot of overcasts here." Andy said sweetly.

"You don't even know how huge your fanbase is here." you said. "I watched you last night and it was just amazing, you guys are still amazing after all these years and I know you'll go even further from where you are right now. Thank you for your music!" you said as you let them sign your merch.

"Aww, that's so sweet of you. Besides, we're also doing our best for the fans." Pete said.

"YES! That's why seeing you live and personally is so worth it! I'm risking failing my finals for this, but I really regret nothing!" you said.

"Whoa, seriously? You're insane...we wouldn't forgive ourselves if you fail!" Joe said in shock and you chuckled.

"Don't worry, I can manage! I can pull up an all-nighter later since tomorrow is the big day! I'll pass this, most especially now that I've seen my inspirations!" you sweetly said.

You began to take pictures with them and somehow you were feeling that something is wrong since Patrick seemed quiet, but he's just staring and smiling at you genuinely. Suddenly, you saw Pete simply nudge Patrick.

"W-what's your name?" Patrick suddenly said which you find cute. It seemed that the nudge made those words come out of his mouth, he really look shy and that's making you blush.

"I'm Y/N...And I would like to say that you're so amazing...all of you are. I can't thank you enough for the music and inspiration you've given to me." you murmured, already at the brink of crying. You just chuckled as you brush your tears away.

"Five minutes is up, sweetie. Let's go." the guard suddenly said that made you sad.

"Keep on being awesome, guys! I love you!" you playfully said as you walk away.

"Good luck on your finals tomorrow!" they said and you really think this is the best night you've ever had!

*The following Morning*

You look like a zombie, but you didn't care. You pulled up and all-nighter to review for the exam and now you're walking inside the university to get to your exams. You're honestly feeling confident that you can do it, but of course, you're still nervous for this finals.

You're carefully walking while reading your noted when suddenly you bumped into someone.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry! I wasn't paying attention." you said worriedly and put your notes away. You looked at the person and at first, you thought you're just hallucinating and maybe it's the effects of having a little to no sleep for two straight days.

The person you bumped into is Patrick Stump. He's wearing simple jeans, black shirt and a baseball cap to hide his face.

"Patrick? What are you...

"Shhhh. I don't want to cause a commotion here." he shyly said and you just led him away from the main streets of the university. 

"What are you doing here?" you asked him, stll not believing that you're talking to him again.

"Well, I really hated myself for not talking to you so much last night...My shyness ate me away." he said while cutely chuckling in there

"T-that's fine, I-I...h-how did you know you can find me here?" you asked and you feel your face is about to explode.

"You're wearing your ID last night and I saw the name of your university." he simply answered then he suddenly became shy and adjusts his cap. "I'm so sorry, I just realized how creepy and 'stalker-ish' that is." he said while blushing.

"No, I wasn't thinking of that, silly!" you said.

"And also I came here to personally say good luck and root for you! You've risked failing your finals for us, that's really insane. So I'm here to cheer for you." he said cutely and you instantly want to cry in there.

"You don't know how much this means to me, Patrick. I mean...you...Patrick Stump...came here to say good luck. I think I now have my lucky charm."  you sweetly said and Patrick smiled sincerely at you.

"Then so be it. I'll be your lucky charm, I won't leave until your exams are done. Besides, we have free time and I have no schedule now...and maybe later after your exams we can grab so food or something, what do you say?" he asked and you can't believe that he is legitimately asking you out.

You were about to faint in fangirl feels in there, thankfully the school bell rang.

"That'll be amazing, Patrick. Thank you so much!" you said and you just hugged him and Patrick gladly hugged back. You pulled out a pen then wrote your number on a piece of paper then handed it to him. "You'll reach me through that. My exams will end in three hours." you shyly said as he holds the paper.

"Got it, phoenix girl." he said and he already has a nickname for you. It must be because you were wearing a Phoenix shirt last night.

"I have to run, see you later, Patrick. Stay out of the main streets of the uni if you don't want girls to follow you around until you got cold." you said while chuckling and already backing away and preparing to run to your class. "Thank you! I promise I'll ace this exam!" you screamed then ran.

Patrick then was left in there while chuckling and blushing. He really likes you for some reason and he's so happy that he got to see you again. He looked down on the paper with your number then playfully say 'yes!' while fist-bumping the air...feeling accomplished that he was able to talk to you and asked you out.

"Patrick! Patriiiiick!" Patrick suddenly heard from afar and when he looked towards the calls he saw you running to him.

He texted you to meet him in this deserted park after your exams, and now here you are while holding the results.

"I passed the exams! I passed the finals and I got the highest score from the class!" you said so excitedly and Patrick was so mesmerized with your smiles and cheerful vibe.

"That's so great! Congratulations, Y/N!!" he said and you both hugged.

"This is because of you and the band! I was so inspired even if I still had no sleep, you guys are really good luck charms." you said.

"Then I'll continue to be one for you!" Patrick said cheerfully that made you blush. "This calls for a celebration! Want to hang out with me and the guys? Surely, they'd want to meet you again." he said.

"And you don't know how much I wanted to see them again! I must be insane if I say no to this!" you playfully said as both of you leave the uni. 

You really had no idea how the goddamned finals will bring something like this to you, now you're happy that this examination exists!
