Imagine #173: Graduation Gift (One-Shot)

{Yep, that's me up there and I'LL BE GRADUATING ON MAY 3! I'LL BE GETTING MY BACHELORS DEGREE BY THEN AND I'M JUST SO PROUD THAT I MADE IT THAT I WANTED TO SHARE IT WITH YOU GUYS! (I'm not bragging or anything, I just want to say that if I made it, I believe you'll all make it too!) Besides, this imagine is somehow about graduation so I just inserted my face there :D Anyways, ENJOY!}

You honestly once believed that you won't reach this point -- graduation, but here you are, holding your Diploma in hand and you have now a bachelor's degree and you never really expected the feel of much accomplishment from this.

You just got home from the graduation rites and celebration you and your family had, and still you're feeling so accomplished. You've continuously posted your pictures and thanked everyone. You're already on your bed, and you took a picture of your diploma and Toga hat and decided to send that picture to the people who saved you during your dark days. Thanking them with all your heart because they were a part of the reason why you didn't give up. You sent those pictures with messages to your parents, siblings and closest friends...you almost think you were done until you remember one more person or group of people you wanted to thank - and that's your most favorite band - Fall Out Boy.

You know there's a zero percent chance that they'll be able to read this message, but you just had to try and besides, you want to thank them. Their music saved you and you want to reach out your thanks to them.

You typed your message and it came out longer than you expected it to be, but you didn't mind then send it to each of the members twitter account and you just hoped they'll be able to read it. You even jokingly said that the only graduation gift you want is them to have a concert in your country.

You laid back on your bed, smiling to yourself. The road after this event may still be rough, but now you're more motivated to go through it.

*FEW WEEKS LATER*

THEY ARE HERE!!! THEY ARE GOING TO HAVE A CONCERT TONIGHT AND I'M HERE TO WATCH THEM!

I have no idea if this is all a coincidence, but I don't care about that anymore, having them here and seeing them live is all that matters now!!

I'm already in the concert arena and the concert is about to start, my heart is pounding so fast and I just want to scream so loud. I'm so happy that this is finally happening.

Moments later, the concert started and I honestly don't know anymore! I'm just rocking out here in the moshpit, screaming the names of my idols and enjoying my time. This is honestly the best night I had in a very long time! They are so passionate about performing and I love everything about it! I already feel my lungs being scratched but I don't care, I just wanted to scream more.

The hour passed so fast and I really don't want this to end, but of course, it will sooner. The boys are just having a break and just talking to the crowd and I still love this moment. They are down to their last song and that just makes me tear up a little bit, honestly.

"Thank you for coming tonight! The energy here is extraordinary!" Joe said and the crowd cheered once more.

"Sorry it took us a while to go back here, but we're happy you all are still here!" Pete said and again, the crowd screamed.

"Also, before this night end...I just want to shout out to a particular someone in here and God, I wish she's in here right now. Weeks ago, I and the others have received this message from this particular girl. The message was simple and it came with a picture, we actually receive tons of messages and I tell you we always appreciate it, but this one really got my attention. It was a picture of her diploma and toga hat which came with a message, thanking us because we're a part of the reason why she didn't give up in school and life and I honestly, receiving those kinds of messages is still so mind-blowing to me. We still can't believe we're saving lives from what we're doing and trust me, we're so happy that we're able to help you guys. So if you are here, Y/N, I salute you for not giving up. Seriously, everyone in here who didn't give up, we salute you!" Patrick said and you were so shocked that he mentioned you. You're already shedding tears in there and you can't help but felt touch with his words. "And also, sorry if your requested graduation gift is a bit late, but here we are right now and I hope you're here!" he continued. The crowd cheered once more.

"And to all of you out here who graduated from anything. Graduated from school, graduated from feelings like depression, anxiety; graduated from self-harm or abusive relationship OR any hardship you feel. WE SALUTE YOU! Congratulations on graduating from that piece of shit situation in your life! And if we are a part of your journey to this graduation, THANK YOU and we promise you, we won't stop doing what we're doing! We will continue to be the voices of the overcast kids!" Pete said and you screamed while you tear up. Actually, a lot people around there have shed tears. This band is really more than just a band, they're really companions of the overcasts kids and for you, that's really their culture.

----------------------

The concert ended and the crowd has dispersed too but you're still feeling like you're on cloud 9. You honestly want to thank them personally, but you know that is kind of impossible since you don't even have a ticket to the meet and greet. You just decided to look around the concert arena once more before going out.

Since there are still a lot of people outside, you decided to take a shortcut you knew. It's really not supposed to be a way for people, but you know the area and know your way around it so you just decided to take that path. The way led to an open parking space and to your shock, that's where the boy's tour bus is. Actually, there are some guards in there and barricade, but there are no other people around. You were just standing there and you began to walk towards the barricade and the guards saw you.

"Hey, you are not allowed to be here, miss." the guard said.

"I know, I just happen to stumble upon this place. Don't worry, I cause no trouble." you kindly said. You just looked around, but it seems that the boys are still not there.

"The exit is that way." The other guard said and you nodded and smiled at them. You were about to walk away when you heard some talking. You looked back and to your surprise, the band members were already there and was about to go to their bus.

"T-Thank you! I-It's me, Y/N, the one that sent you the message...and t-thank you." you found the courage to speak loudly. The guards were about to walk to you, but you saw Patrick running close.

"Hey, wait. It's ok." Patrick said and the guards stopped. You're still so starstruck there. "Is it really you?" he asked and you know your face is blushing right now. You suddenly recited a part of the message and you saw Patrick smiled widely. "Well, it's really you! I'm so glad you made it here!" he said and he removed the barricade and with that you just cried again.

"Thank you." you murmured and suddenly, you felt him hug you.

"No, thank you for not giving up." he murmured so soothingly.

"Ey! GROUP HUG!" you suddenly heard Pete said and you felt the four of them hugged you.

It honestly feels like a dream, but you know it's really happening.

"Thank you guys, you don't know how much you make me happy!" you said and you wiped your tears away.

After that, you just took pictures with them that you're sure to forever cherish. The guys are so funny and you really thanked them for giving you some time in here before going. Soon enough they get on their bus one by one until Patrick was the only one left here.

"Hey, I want to give you this." he said and took something out of his pocket. "I was really meaning to give this to you and message you back but everything just got busy, but at least your here now!" he said and then handed you a special guitar pick with a necklace chain around it.

You took the necklace and the pendant was a silver guitar pick and embosed to it was their signatures.

"Thank you! You don't know how much this means to me!" you said and you are starting to tear up again.

"It's because of people like you why we're still performing. Thank you. Keep reaching your dreams, Y/N. Take care." he hugged you again tightly before pulling back. Patrick even wore the necklace around your neck which you just loved. "Maybe we'll see each other again some time?" he said and you smile and nodded.

"Maybe, Trick. Take care!" you said and he walked back to their bus.

You waved them a final goodbye before you walked away with the widest smile you can give.
