-A Day After the Official Break-Up-

I hate crying. Your nose gets all runny, your eyes are red and puffy, and here I am just rhyming. Gah, i'm an Athena kid not an Apollo kid!

I didn't get much sleep that night, mostly because I was trying so hard not to cry and it hurts my chest so bad. I finally pulled myself together and started to think after i've slipped into a restless sleep.

I knew Percy, long enough that he wouldn't be that dumb to just hunt gorgons. I recalled Percy's odd behavior before his disappearance and I started to wonder if it wasn't just because of that accident at the party. Since he left without telling anyone but only leaving a useless note, he seemed to have planned it. I then began to wonder what would he have wanted from gorgons.

It's as if the pieces of a puzzle were finally began to click into place. What was so special about gorgons? Their blood. One could heal anything and one could instantly...

I grabbed for my phone and saw that it was 6:00 am in the morning. If he'd do it, then he'd do it now!

I quickly shot for the door but tried not to wake anyone else up. I then ran inside the infirmary but froze when I noticed Percy's bed was empty, leaving a note. I quickly skimmed through the note and saw the clue I was looking for.

The lake.

I dashed out again and headed for the lake. I could already see a guy with black hair, no doubt it was Percy. There he sat on the wooden half-bridge, what looked like a vial was on his hand.

I was just close enough to hear him say, "I'm sorry, Wise Girl."

"Stop!" I yelled.

But I wasn't close enough to stop him, nor did I yell in time. He had already drank the gorgon blood.

Immediately, he had started to convulse, dropping the vial and choking on the floor. I dropped to his side, knowing that I was already too late.
