Izumi Konno is a character from Persona 5 Royal. She is the younger sister of Nagisa Konno.

Despite her being a small child, Izumi is extremely mature and responsible for her age. Despite her living with so many struggles, none of them corrupt her heart and she maintains her pure and kind soul. She's a big supporter of the Phantom Thieves and wishes to become just like them after she grows up.

Design

Izumi is a small girl with bluish, off-white hair, straight and combed, which is parted in the middle of her forehead, almost reaching down to her waist. She has very wide, innocent-looking eyes, which are bright red in color. She wears her school's winter uniform that consists of a white shirt worn beneath a blue blazer with a pink bow on top, a navy-blue skirt, white leggings, and red Mary Jane shoes. Her summer school uniform consists of a short-sleeved shirt with a pink bow on top and white socks instead of leggings.

Her winter casual outfit consists of a white dress shirt with a frilled collar and a plain red pinafore with two large, golden buttons on either side of her chest. Under this, she wears gray tights and a large set of tan boots, and a small dark red messenger bag with the trap sitting over her right shoulder, a little floral pattern decorating one of its sides. Her summer casual outfit consists of a green sundress with a white bow in the front and white sandals.

In the third semester on her days off, Izumi wears a yellow sweater beneath a brown overcoat, plaid green skirt, black leggings, tan boots, bunny-shaped earmuffs, and a pair of yellow gloves with cat faces on them. On school days, her uniform is slightly modified, wearing a dark purple coat, pink hat, and matching gloves and scarf.

Izumi is a shy and timid young girl much like her brother Nagisa who longs to spend more time with her parents despite their harsh jobs, but she was given all the love and affection in the world by Nagisa despite them being half-siblings. He treats her with a lot of care of love as if she was one of his own and were true siblings. She can feel awkward and uncomfortable around strangers as seen when she hid behind Nagisa when she first met Ren and his friends, but she's seemingly comfortable around those she knows. She's also very sweet and has a kind heart for the people she loves and trusts, thus she was able to earn Ren and the others' friendship rather quickly, Ann and Haru especially. Even Dr. Maruki took a liking to her due to her sharpness and sweetness and managed to befriend her regardless of the age difference. She's an optimistic individual, always seeing the bright and good side of dire and harsh situations even when they seem inescapable to others around her. Izumi loves to see the good side of people even when they turn evil or corrupt later on. A good example of this would be that when she learned about Madarame's true nature, she tells Yusuke that he must've been so sad when life forced him to stray from the right path, and despite it all, he still loves him dearly. She's not entirely clueless about the true nature of the world and all the evil that surrounds her, but she thinks that it's better for the person to focus on the good things and be happy rather than indulging in the bad things and depressing themselves.

Izumi is a huge fan of the Phantom Thieves to the point of secretly saving up money to buy some of their merchandise, expressing her desire to be like them when she grows up. Supporting their ideals, Izumi calls them heroes of justice and says that she'll walk by their example and help people in need she comes across. As a result, she's seen helping elderlies cross the road or picking fallen objects for passers-by. Once, she even told a group of kids at the park to not pick the flowers since they're doing harm to nature. She's very obedient to Nagisa and would never do anything against him or to anger him, but she still has her own opinion regarding situations and topics. She shows a lot of sadness and regret when she disobeys him, but Nagisa forgives her since he knows that she did it out of goodwill and often offers her treats which makes her happy. Despite being only an elementary student, Izumi is quite mature, responsible, and independent for her age that she's able to do house chores from cleaning and doing laundry on her own. That catches Ren and his friends off-guard to see that side of her despite her young age. Ryuji described her that she "talks like his mom." Although she carries many emotional scars, Izumi tries to act like a normal child as much as she could in order to grow up normally and ease some of her brother's worries.

Influenced by her older brother, Izumi is also quite a diligent student at school, scoring the top grades in her class and never causing trouble to anyone. That made her an example student, earning the love of all of her teachers and the jealousy of some of her classmates, yet others admire her and wish to befriend her. As a result, Izumi is more sociable than Nagisa and has a better ability at making friends at school even if they were very few. Although she's deemed as an intelligent child, she faces difficulties in fully understanding more complicated subjects, and sometimes she simply doesn't get them at all. Her dream is to become a doctor in the future so she can help people and save them from pain and says that she'll treat poor people for free, showing how kind and selfless she is. She also has a big love for animals as she's seen often petting Morgana while visiting Leblanc and he enjoys her company and touches it a lot, describing it to be far more gentle than anyone else. Izumi loves flowers a lot and would often buy them to decorate her bedroom and house in general, making her take an interest in how to arrange them and in flower language, becoming quite knowledgeable in what each flower means. She gifted a bouquet to Sojiro to decorate the café after organizing it herself and explaining what each type of flower means, earning his thanks and gratitude.

• Izumi's favorite fruit is apples. But she's also seen to enjoy having sweets. According to Nagisa, her favorite ice cream flavor is the chocolate mint one.

• She's so far the youngest character ever to appear in the Persona 5 universe.

• The Art Arcana is not a part of standard Tarot decks. In Aleister Crowley's Thoth Tarot, it replaces the Temperance Arcana. While upright, it represents temperance, patience, good influence, confidence, and moderation. On the other hand, reversed, it can represent conflict, disunion, frustration, impatience, and discord.
