But for the sound of crickets

And a lonely owl.

The day is empty,

But for the blazing sun

And a burning sensation.

I wish I could see you,

But you're so far away

And I don't know when

Or if we can be together;

Your smile would ease my pain

And give me hope,

But for now, I have to wait,

And keep you in my heart,
