Hey guys, just let you know I'm sorry if I don't update or publish any of this book very often, I'm not really inspired. If you have any ideas PLEASE tell me! Btw, random fact about me: Kit Kat helps me think. You should try it!😝 (unless of course you are allergic to chocolate)😋 OK, here we go...

The morning bell rang three times to alert all the workers it was time to wake up. This was Alexandra's least favourite time of the day. On the chalk board out the front of the stables, Alex saw her name written next to 'New Horse' and was puzzled strait away. Mr Harvey was right behind her, as if sensing her confusion. "The palomino in stable 12, I bought her yesterday from the sales." He lied. Alex knew right away that he wasn't telling the truth because she saw him all through the day yesterday. She ignored his white lie, she was used to them now. "By the way, you can call her what you want. It doesn't matter what she's called, she won't be staying here long. Your gonna train her then I will sell her."

Alex jogged into the tack shed, grabbing a red head collar and lead rope. Then she went back to her room and got a copy of 'Black Beauty'. As she walked along the aisle, she noticed the horses gloomily standing in the shadows of their stalls. But as she got to number 12 the palomino seemed like a golden ghost against her dark stall. "You look like a ghost," Alex whisper-laughed "I think I'll call you Phantom." At the sound of a human voice Phantom shivered in the corner of her stall, eyeing the girl. "I know, you won't trust me yet, I don't trust many people around here either." Alex mumbled calmly.

Alex slipped quietly into Phantom's stall and sat in the corner reading Black Beauty out loud to Phantom. It was a trick her father taught her when gaining a wild horses trust. A tear slipped down her face when she thought of her father. Before Alex knew it, a hot breath blew her mousy-brown, hair out of place.

She stood up slowly, not wanting to startle Phantom. Making sure not to look her directly in the eyes, so she wouldn't scare her, Alex slipped the red head collar over Phantom's head briskly but calmly. The horse yanked back in fright, but Alex didn't pull back, she let Phantom prance around, before slowly leading her to the nearest round yard.

~~~~~
Phantom didn't really look like a palomino because of the amount of dirt and dried sweat that was plastered on her coat, so Alex picked up a blue, sparkly curry comb. As much as Phantom wanted to despise this new girl, when Alex started scratching off all of her itchy dirt and sweat, she couldn't help but fall in love with the feeling. In fact she nearly fell asleep! Nearly.
After lots of brushing, Alex stood back and looked at Phantom. She actually looked like a palomino now. Next, she unclipped Phantoms lead rope and replaced it with a lunging rope. Phantom shied away from the long, snake-like object which seemed to be following her.
Begrudgingly, Phantom followed Alex into the round yard. Phantom observed the height of the fences; they were defiantly built so that horses couldn't jump out of them.
After half an hour of stopping, starting, fighting, pulling, biting and finally sitting like a dog in the sand, not moving, all on Phantom's behalf, Alex took her back to the stables.
For fifteen minutes Alex continued to read aloud Black Beauty. Phantom turned her rump on Alex and tried not to listen, but the soothing flow of words that tumbled out Alex's mouth drew Phantom in, and soon she was lying on the ground, calm. Calm but not happy.
I'm sorry it's not long again. And sorry for the wait. Just starting to lose ideas for this book and all my other book. Please help me 😁😁 Anyway, bye!
