5 years later

"Master pakku glad you could join us," chief Hakoda walked off the docks as southern water tribe ships took up the docks of the fire nation as well as northern water tribe.

"I wouldn't give up anything to see my star pupil again, where is Katara?" The old man walked over and shook the strong mans hand.

"Uh.." Hakoda looked around awkwardly.

"I'm not going!" A sixteen year old girl with long chocolate brown hair and tan mocha skin screamed as she threw a powerful punch of water at the other warriors as her friends blocked and men coward away from the chiefs daughter.

"Katara your scaring people calm down," her older brother hid behind the wall.

"I am not property to be sold! I don't care!" Katara yelled sending a wave pushing them all back but the avatar blocked it with water and a fourteen year old blind girl bended earth to block.

"Aang your the only one that can take her on, do something!" Toph snapped at him as Aang was slightly afraid. Katara was his best friend but she had rage hes never seen before.

"I don't wanna get in the middle of it," Aang gulped but cried out when she hit him with water and sent him flying into the ocean.

"Damn," Toph whistled impressed.

"What happened?" A new voice asked curiously, one she didn't recognize.

"Sugar queen over there ain't going down without a fight, I don't blame her," Toph explained easily with her arms crossed as Katara held her fists up as some warriors walked cautiously to her but ran back with a scream when he bended the water.

"Yikes, she looks like a treat," it was an older man she could hear as he stood calmly next to her.

"Gotta love her for it," Toph smirked.

"Would you like some tea? I think this might take a while," the old man asked and Toph snorted.

"You don't want to help stop it?" She asked.

"You never tell a woman to stop fighting when she's still angry, the backlash isn't worth it," the man smiled.

"Sure, I wouldn't mind tea," Toph shrugged.

"Sir can I help you?" Hakoda walked over to the old man and Toph with pakku behind him.

"Oh my apologies, I'm fire lord iroh," he smiled bowing his head as Toph blinked surprised but snorted a little.

"I-oh it's great to finally meet you, chief Hakoda," the two men shook hands as Katara watched them from the side.

Sokka and Aang tried sneaking up on her but she saw them, she growled throwing them back in the ocean.

——

"You all will have your own guest room in the same wing, please make yourselves at home, my son and niece are in the courtyard," iroh lead the water tribe as Sokka, Aang, Toph, Katara, Hakoda and pakku stayed in the palace.

"I didn't think the evil fire lord of the evil fire nation would be so..." Sokka trailed off whispering to his friends. "Not evil?"

"It's probably an act," Katara glared with her arms crossed.

"I can promise you it's not an act master Katara," iroh smirked a little as he could hear her easily.

"In my long years I've been in the war, seen the damage it has done, what my grand father started and my father continued, years ago this war almost costed me my son," iroh explained to them as Sokka gulped a little.

"Things could've been very different if my brother got his way of becoming fire lord, he's more like our grandfather," iroh smiled back at them.

"Then why are you different?" Katara glared a little not trusting him.

"My dear, I am old, all my life I've seen only war, don't you think it's time to start moving on?" He asked looking at her.

"And a marriage is the only way to stop the war? This isn't a children's tale," she snapped back but Hakoda put a hand on her shoulder as a warning.

"Katara, enough disrespect," Hakoda told her softly.

She scoffed shaking her head.

"You're not planning on trying to keep me here too? Your general Zhao was always trying to attack my friends and I," Aang raised his hand a little awkwardly.

"I have no intentions of keeping you here against your will avatar, but I wouldn't mind if you'd join me with creating peace with my nation, I'd be honored," iroh smiled at the fourteen year old monk. Aang smiled impressed as he looked at his friends.

"I'll do what I can, I'm here to support my friend though so that'll be my main priority," and bowed to him and iroh nodded understandingly.

"So you mentioned your son, he's the one my sisters getting married too right?" Sokka stepped up as they all walked to the throne room that was empty.

Katara slowly snuck off while her father was talking to fire lord iroh as she was tired of listening and Sokka was falling asleep a little to the meeting. She found herself in a room close by as it had a sign that mentioned something of a prayer for respect, she kissed her finger tips and touched the top of the door before walking in.

She saw there was pictures of fire lord azulon on a table near by but at the end of the room there was two photos with candles along the wall with flowers. It was a memorial...

Katara looked over her shoulder hearing voices but went to see the photos seeing it was a woman and a male.

Fire lady Ursa

Katara looked at the woman softly as she had beautiful flawless skin with gentle golden eyes.

Loving mother

"Huh.." she touched the picture just barely and looked at the portrait what seemed to be a young boy.

Loving son

"You really shouldn't touch memorials," a man walked in and Katara gasped turning around, he was older, and much bigger than her.

"My aunt died the same day we lost my cousin," he walked up next to her.

"Your the prince I'm marrying," Katara stated not looking at him.

"It's nice to finally meet you Katara," lu ten smiled gently at her.

"How Long ago didn't you loose them?" She asked looking between the mother and son.

"Five years ago," he nodded.

"Was there an illness?" She gulped a little.

"No, they were both murdered, my aunt tried to protect her eldest, worst day of my life," lu ten gulped a little.

"From what..?"

"A monster," he looked down but glanced at the younger girl.

"How'd you get here?" Lu ten raised an eye brow.

"Our fathers are talking," Katara sighed finally looking up at him.

"Well maybe we should join them," lu ten offered and Katara gulped but nodded.

He held his arm up for her to grasp onto but she walked ahead of him with dignity.

"Just because we're getting married doesnt mean we have to hate each other," he told her as he followed her out of the room.

"No I'm not hateful towards you because of our engagement that I found out two days ago," Katara sighed as she batted her eyes at him innocently.

"I'm fucking pissed cause my choice is getting taken away," she spat with a nasty snarl before disappearing around the corner.
