McKenna's POV:
My heart was pounding as her fingers tightened around my throat, making it hard for me to catch my breath. I was about to lose consciousness when I felt the familiar shape of my pink pepper spray in my pocket. With trembling fingers, I fished it out and unleashed a stream of fiery mist in her face. She let out a bloodcurdling scream and I broke free from her grasp. "Hey McKenna! Are you okay?" Kenzie ran up to me, her voice laced with concern. I tried to brush off the dirt from my clothes as I replied, "Yeah, I'm fine. But why didn't you step in to help me?" Kenzie looked down, muttering to herself before finally admitting, "I was nervous. When I fought her..." I zoned out, lost in my thoughts. What if I hadn't used my pepper spray? The answer was plain to see, but there were still so many questions running through my mind. Suddenly, Kenzie's voice snapped me back to reality, "McKenna, did you even hear what I just said?" I shook my head, feeling my nerves getting the better of me. Kenzie rolled her eyes and let out a groan. We were on a mission and we had to move fast. I sprinted towards the red key room where the golden vault was located. With the golden key in my hand, I unlocked the vault and found the white key inside. We were just one step away from escaping. The only thing left was the hammer. As I rushed towards the acid river, the piggy appeared out of nowhere, shooting me a death glare. I could feel the adrenaline pumping through my veins as I tried to dodge the piggy and make my way to McKenzie, who had the hammer we needed. Thankfully, McKenzie was quick to remove the wooden planks on the escape door and we were reunited. But our mission was far from over. Doggy ordered us to get some gas so we could get out of there. McKenzie had found the blue key in a boarded cell and we needed two batteries for the generator. We dodged the piggy and made our way across the plank to where the staircase was. I grabbed one battery while McKenzie got the other. But the monsters were everywhere, attacking us at every turn. We finally made it to the yard where I placed the batteries in the generator, revealing the item that held our freedom. I won the fight to hold it and we hurriedly made our way to the car. Doggy was on high alert, warning us that the piggy was coming. I filled the car with gas as quickly as possible and we drove off, with me sitting in the backseat. Doggy looked at me and said, "You're lucky I came on my day off, Kenna." "You're lucky I brought gas, Doggy," I responded with a snarky remark, feeling relieved that we had managed to get away. "Touché, Kenna." He responded. The destroyed city around us reminded us that we still had a long way to go. "Man, these monsters are everywhere!" McKenzie said while staring at the window. "Yeah! But Kenna, how much gas did you bring?" Doggy asked me. "Um...maybe a fourth?" I said sheepishly. McKenna sighed while Doggy facepalmed. "Hey, it's not my fault!" I said, defending myself as we made our way to Lucella's Gallery of Fame, hoping to find more gas there.
