"And infatuated be damned. He was near to being blinded by his attraction to her. He was in love, damn it all. He disliked her, he resented her, he disapproved of almost everything about her, yet he was head over ears in love with her, like a foolish schoolboy.
He wondered grimly what he was going to do about it. He was not amused. Or in any way pleased."

"So annoying.."

Yoongi flashed a glint of smile as he laid himself down back to the bed, facing the ceiling with hands folded under his head and eyes completely closed. There was a silent for a minute before Yoongi felt a little touch on his knitted eyebrows.

"Upset?" Soomin asked.

"...."

"Ok, stop sulking. Now, tell me about yours. Make it dramatic so it will be fair and square," She giggled, poking his cheek repeatedly.

"Nah, you will cry,"

"Why?" Soomin frowned while scanning her husband's tired face.

Sigh. "What do you wanna know?" Yoongi  gazed her with his sleepy eyes.

"Your past romance story," she said plainly. "Ah.. But you can shrug it off if you don't have any," she tried to suppress her curiosity by acting a bit indifferent but the glint in her eyes clearly showed the opposite of it. Yoongi could only swallowed his laugh cause how silly it was for her to think that he could fall for her trick.

"It's late already. Can we just call a night?  I-"

"Fine, no need to tell me anything.. Good night," she cut off his words while pulling the comforter up to the top of her head.

Now that's what you called by sulking. Yoongi pulled back the comforter and kissed her hair gently. "You right, I don't have any.." Yoongi stated.

"Seriously?but why??" she chirped enthusiastically while instantly facing the startled Yoongi.

Yoongi chuckled and heaved a deep sigh as he remembering someone from the past. Shin Mi Rae

It was started from the first week of Yoongi's early highschool life. Yoongi, who was always living his dull daily life with gloomy vibe, somehow had to stuck with a noisy-bubbly-desk mate who was introduced herself as Mirae.

As much as he wanted to push her away, she kept rotating herself around him. Either simply asked for glancing over his homework or clumsily woke him up during class just because she couldn't stay still on her chair, that girl never failed to annoy him.

Day by day had passed. The girl who initially always tickled his nerves, started to become a pleasant companion for him. Her easy-going and carefree attitudes unconsciously made Yoongi felt at ease whenever they were together. For a while, he could set a side his pitiful life before he should face his damned fate at the end of the day.

Slowly but sure, Yoongi started to open up about his sorrowful past. She was the one and only outsider who knew the truth he was hiding for years from Soomin. Never once she tried to oppose his useless acts towards Soomin, she gave her support to strengthen Yoongi's heart while silently praying that someday he would be freed from this torturing fate.

Sometimes she couldn't hold herself to complain about how rude Soomin's attitude was, but at the end she would handed him a sparkling lemonade soda to cheer him up.

They were basically a partner in crime for each at other at school till graduation came up. Yoongi vividly remembered the day she forced a smile while saying that she was accepted at Seoul National University. He genuinely congratulated her, wishing her to have a joyful life ahead and thanked her with all sincerity.

Thank you for always forcefully being around me even when I often tried to kick your ass.

Years later, under the bright city light of Seoul, Mirae popped in front of his very eyes. The same silly smile pasted on her grown-up featured.

They naturally tugged their loose string closed by the days they had spent together. She never said anything, but Yoongi fully aware that she had something in her mind and heart. Covered by her loud laugh and stupid jokes, she tried to act like she was back in the highschool days. Little did she know, Yoongi could clearly see how much her heart had change towards him.

Then the day finally came.

The day when he was ready.

The day when he was so close to reciprocate her heartfelt feeling without any further hesitation.

The day when he finally had a courage to put aside a heartbroken confession letter he got seven years ago.

The day when he decided to fully move on from everything he left in the past.

Yet, it was also the day when he realized that life was indeed a joke.

The day when unexpected red string attached on his finger was being pulled together.

The day when he met her, a seven-years-later Soomin.

"I don't know whether it's appropriate or not, but my selfish side really want you to meet her once. But I guess it's too much for me to have that shameless wish," Yoongi gave Soomin's a melancholic smile as he told everything about the one he once cherished.

Soomin said nothing. She had no idea what kind of emotion she felt at this time. Tick. A drop of tear was voluntary rolled down her cheek as a mixed feeling of sadness, regret, and guilty crept into her tightened heart.

"I.. I feel sorry for her... " she said faintly. "You two could have been-"

"See..I've told you that you would cry," Yoongi chuckled while weeping the damp side of her face.

"There is nothing like coincident. Everything happens for a reason," he added while pulling her closed to him.

"Yoongi, if there's no Taeri-"

"Whether IF you ditched me at the bar that night or IF you hadn't given me your phone number that day, I would still run into you in a full speed. Even when I still indecisive about my own feeling for you, the time I saw your face after years, I know for sure that I don't want you to slip away for a second time,"

Yoongi then cupped his wife face with his both hands, stared so deeply into her brown eyes. "Because I believe that was my second chance given by heaven. I was a total coward, Soomin. No matter how badly I missed you, I had no courage to face you after that day,"

"But..why?"

"I was afraid of the past. And I know that I couldn't ever separate the past from you. I was worried that I would always be overshadowed by the guilt from the past so that I couldn't be able to move on with my own life,"

Yoongi brushed Soomin's hair adoringly and bopped her nose playfully. "But it turned out that I couldn't be happier than now with you and Taeri by my side."

Tap. Tap. Tap...

The sounds of branches tapping the glass of the window over took the silent happened in the room. No one uttered any single word as both them were now laying on the bed.

Her lips said nothing but Soomin's mind was fully occupied with all the unfiltered things Yoongi had shared.

Never had I imagined there was someone like her on his side for all this time. I really am glad that she was around when things went so hard for him. I genuinely wish that she would be given the best ends she deserves to get.

Soomin took a heavy sigh as flashes of the old memories rushed into her mind. The worse and the best of them surely would be always stayed in her very deep consciousnesses. Yet, the more she thought about all the odds she had encountered till this day, the more she believed that life indeed had its own way to find its way.

"For the good and bad days, my gratitude surely goes to you, dear sadism Cupid," Soomin said, as she dearly looked at her husband who was now already snoring and drifting into a very deep sleep.
