So...there's a new addition to the clan. Pets. I think this comes from Driftclan, so credits to Draco.

Anywayyy, I want to explain it because neither me nor Lex want to spend all of our time answering the same questions over and over again. This update should address everything, but if I somehow miss something, then tell me.

Section 1: What Kind of Pets Can You Get?

Of course, we have to be reasonable here. You're not going to get a bear and you're not gonna enslave a bunch of bees. But you can get some pretty cool stuff, and it depends on your rank.

✺ Star Soldier Pets

Pets for star soldiers are more violent in nature. They can catch prey or attack. They might even be able to gather sticks.

Of course, some animals are gonna be harder to train than others. Some animals are gonna be harder to get in the first place that others. Let's start a list.

Small Birds - 45% Chance
Small birds are any species of birds that range from smaller than average or even tiny. They can fly and their skill is capturing mice for the clan. The only skill that needs to be trained for this animal is obedience. Once you have that down, you can order the bird to catch a single mouse every day. It'll add one prey to the clan. They cannot aid in battles.

They have one energy for commands.

Venomous Snake - 25% chance
Snakes can attack and hunt, but can only do once every a day, like the small bird. How they are different than the small bird resides in how they can hurt the clan. The owner must remember to use the command "/trap snake" after training so the snake will be put in a secluded area. If they forget, their pet will escape and may hurt another cat. Once their obedience is at 2 or higher, they can mingle with the clan cats and be a happy non-danger noodle.

The other thing is venom level. Some snakes will be relatively weaker than other snakes, and may be completely useless if used for battle. There will be a chart for this in another section.

Venomous Frog - 15% Chance
They have two differences from the snake: they aren't dangerous to the clan, and they have much higher venom capacities. Surprising that a tiny thing like a frog can cause so much harm, right? Well, while they can't get prey, but they are nice battle buddies.

Small Dog - 10% Chance
Dogs are more intelligent than the other animals, so their skills go up to 5, and up by .50 when being trained. They can learn to forage, heal, battle, and hunt. They can be commanded to do two things every day outside of training. Technically, they could also be a star guider pet.

Some dogs will be more versed in skills than others. You might get a dog with a 2/5 Battle skill and a 4/5 hunting skill. It just depends on how domesticated they are.

Some dogs will be violent, unfortunately. If they have a violence meter that is 5 or higher, the command "/trap dog" needs to be used until their obedience skill is at least 4, or else.

Baby Fox - 5% Chance
Foxes are absolute beasts with it comes to battle. They can do serious damage and easily kill cats.

Their hunting skill goes up to 5 and goes up .25 when trained, like normal pets. But their battle skill goes up to 7, and up by .50 every time trained.

There's another problem though; they can easily kill cats. Foxes are babies for six moons, just like kits. Their obedience skill only goes up by .25, too, and it needs to be three by the time they are at the age where they might not want to be peaceful. The entire clan needs to sacrifice energy to helping the original owner train them. If you fail, the consequences will be vast.

✺ Star Guider Pets

Rabbit - 50% Chance
Rabbits need to be taught two skills, which are foraging and obedience. The average rabbit does not know the difference between healing herbs and what they eat, and have no discipline. Both skills go up by .25

They have 1 energy for commands.

Squrriel - 40% Chance
Squirrels are pretty much the same as rabbits, but have another cute quality to them; they bring small gifts! A squirrel can bring flowers, acorns, gems, feathers, and etc. to be added to character appearances. Of course, you aren't obligated to take it, but if you gift it to a cat, your bond goes up by 2 points!

The Smart Mouse - 10% Chance
Never imagined a tiny rodent could be of help? Well, mice have real healing skills, that work just like cats. They only go up to three, which conflicts with the success rates that are in the Charts section already, but they can be of help!

They also have a maxed foraging skill (3/3). The only skills that need to be trained are obedience and healing.

They have two energy that can be used for commands!

Section 2: Energy and Training

Training a pet takes 1 energy, like training a cat. It isn't suppose to be easy, which is why I suggest all of the clan not taking on pets instantly. Maybe a couple few and that's it.

A normal pet will go up .25 every time trained and their max skill will be 3. The obedience skill for all animals only goes up to 3. Some animals may have higher level skills or their skills might go up easier. It depends.

Training works differently for pets. It depends on how much energy they have. Training doesn't really take energy away from them, but commands do. For example, ordering your sparrow to hunt would take away their energy, and if you did a command, then you couldn't train. But if an animal has two energy, which is the max, then they would have one energy after that to use for commands.

To make this make more sense:

- If a pet has a single energy, you can train them as much as three times, but can't do a command.
- If a pet has two energy, you can train them as much as three times and also have another energy for a command.

A queen can train their pet, but only twice. I like to imagine that pets are treated at the same level as kits in a lot of ways.

Section 4: Pet Breeding

If you have a male and a female pet of the same group, you can have 1-2 babies if you breed them! Breeding will take all of their energy for the day, but they can go back to having their normal energy later.

For bird groups, let's saw a sparrow and a robin breed (I know, not realistic, but we aren't being that specific.) They'll lay eggs that'll hatch in two moons.

Snakes will lay eggs that hatch in two moons. So will frogs.

Squirrels, mice, rabbits, small dogs, and foxes will experience pregnancy and then birth. The duration is two moons.

Of course, other cats will have to adopt them then, so only do it if you know that people are willing to take on a new responsibility.

No, you cannot cross breed between different pet groups. I'm not dealing with wacky hybrids.

Section 5: Pet Death

Pets can be killed by:
1. Violent animals that aren't trapped at the end of the moon.
2. Another animal or cat during a battle.
3. A natural disaster.
4. A cat murdering them, I guess. That wouldn't be...useful, though. And if anybody kills a dog, I'm throwing hands.

Section 6: Commands!

/search for pet one energy, you look for a random pet
/search for specific pet one energy, you look for a specific pet and come back empty pawed if you don't find that pet, can be done multiple times in a day
/abandon pet zero energy, if a pet ends up being useless or too much work, you can get rid of them
/breed pets zero energy lost for the owner, all energy lost from the female pet as she takes care of her eggs/is pregnant
/train pet one energy for you, energy depends on specific pet
/trap pet zero energy, use only if pet is violent, consequences if not done
/give mouse gift to (name) zero energy
/equip mouse gift zero energy
/name pet (name) zero energy
