ambulance sirens cut through the thunder
something is louder than nature
the knowing the missing the wishing is full
and the gutters are drenched with runoff
the writing the typing the texts are sparce
and the trees break under the winds
the separation the hallucinations the deprecations are strong
and the lightning is drenched in rain

the man in the moon smiles callously,
and the stars behind clouds wink mischievously,
and the flags they flap beautifully,
and the world
goes on
