Here it is, the photograph,

the one of Gill and Dave.

It's of their lovely wedding day,

when they were married in a cave!

Dave looking tall and handsome,

Gill looking, oh so pretty!

Dave waiting ready with a joke;

(He's always been quite witty).

He was standing in his Cornish kilt

With socks up to his knees.

Hoping (yes, I'm sure he was)

That there would be no breeze.

Gill in a fur cape of snowy white,

Yellow flowers in her hair.

Standing tall and regal,

Without a single care.

Dave spotted Gill in the local shop

And kept going in some milk to buy.

Both single then and unattached,

To ask her out, he had to try.

Dave asked Gill to Karaoke night,

But she didn't think much of that.

She refused his first 'ask out'

Leaving him feeling like a pratt.

So later on he had a thought,

He asked her for a meal.

She liked the idea of that more,

It was a much, much better deal.

And so their own romance began.

The course of true love smoothly ran.

We gathered there inside the cave,

Friends and family of Gill and Dave.

Lights twinkled to expel the gloom

And, in fact, there was plenty of room.

Delicious food on tables was spread,

I counted the moments in my head,

The three tier cake, made with pink ice,

Mouth watering, I craved the largest slice!

Down 68 steps the bride and groom go,

To make their vows down below.

Walking past the underground lake,

Sedately and carefully each step make.

There in the large, dark cavern beneath

They speak their vows and each word mean.

While we, all sat on chairs above,

Watch it all on the large screen.

We have our photos taken out in the sun,

We all are happy, everyone.

We chat and share and want to play

And feel sad when we leave at the end of the day.

That special day of Dave & Gill

That day I do remember still.
