You're only as old as you feel, they say and I expect you say it too.

I'm forty-nine, but that's no compensation when I'm feeling seventy-two!

They say I look younger than my years and that comment I don't really mind.
But in the mirror I look fifty-five, so I think that they're just being kind.

I used to run up the stairs two at a time, but now one at a time is hard.
I used to have a nice slim waist, but now it's a lump of lard.

So Slimming World and Keep Fit Lessons, I'm heading your way shortly,
Wearing my lycra and leg warming socks and looking rather portly.

I said 'I feel like a little old woman', my husband replied with a smile quite sunny,
"As long as you don't feel like a little old man" and he thought that was very funny.

So I'll try to eat properly and do my keep fit, to me it is no big deal.
After all, don't you know (I certainly do!) you're only as old as you... feel.
