So after talking to Briney who was chasing his bird for some reason, and a cutscene, I got to Dewford Town and immediately got the old rod. I fished up a Magikarp which I caught and named Jessica.

I went to Granite Cave and got the TM Flash and taught it to Hitoka. Then I found a Makuhita and named it Big Daniel (dont ask).

Then I went to Brawly's gym and got the badge pretty easily with Arlo.

I went back to Granite Cave and delivered the letter to Steven, who I honestly used to have a crush on. He gave me HM Steel Wing and I taught it to Arlo.
