Previously in Pokemon Chaos and Order...

Performing Week was about to end, but for Serena it would go out with a bang! Serena finally had enough courage to take part in the Nimbasa City Pokemon Showcase!

After instructions to new friends, and meeting old rivals, the Showcase began. And after even more heartache and hard work, Serena was able to pull though and win her first Princess Ribbon!

Now our heroes are on their way to Driftveil City, where Ash hopes to win his 5th Gym Badge, and take one more step towards his dream.

Our heroes have parted ways with May, and are now exiting Nimbasa City, hoping to reach Driftveil City, sight of Ash's 5th Unova Gym Battle Challenge.

Ash was obviously ahead of the group. After all, it is his dream he's trying to reach. Even so, he wasn't sprinting. Probably because he remembered what happened the first time they've arrived in Castelia City. (For more info, Chapter 14)

"C'mon guys!" He called out to his friends. "We'll never make it to Driftveil City if we keep up this slow pace!" "PIKA PIKA!" Pikachu squeaked in agreement. Serena sped up her pace.

"I'll race you to the end of Route 5!" She said. "Whoever gets there first gets a Brownie Point!" She then began to sprint, running way ahead of Ash. "HEY! NO FAIR!" He exclaimed while picking up his own pace.

Dawn just giggled at the two of them. "What do you say Piplup?" She asked her Pokemon partner who was resting on her shoulder. "Should we race them?" "PIPLUP!" Piplup responded while nodding, causing Dawn to run faster.

"GUYS! WAIT FOR ME!" Nate called out, being left behind. "THIS BAG IS HEAVY... AND I HAVE MILD ASTHMA!" He began to pant as he tried to pick up his pace.

Nate saw that the three have stopped, but they were facing away from him. Not knowing what this meant, he caught up to them and began to catch his breath.

No-one was even acknowledging that he was there, so he looked up to see what they were looking at. They were looking at a Pokemon Battle between two wild Pokemon.

One of them was a bipedal, grayish-green Pokemon with pale, straight tusks protruding from the sides of its mouth. The back of its head is dark grayish-green with a tall, slightly curved horn. Large, dark grayish-green ovals surround its red eyes, and it has a short, rounded snout with large nostrils. A forest green collar marking encircles its neck.

The other Pokemon was a short, quadruped with a long snout and tail. Its body is mostly light brown with the exception of black stripes crossing over and under its legs and its pink underbelly. It has a black stripe on its snout in front of its eyes, and black covering the tip of its tail. Its eyes resemble shaded binoculars and are shrouded in black all around their front. Its long snout is tipped by two protruding nostrils, and its mouth comprises the bottom half. Its feet are flat and contain three sharp, black claws. They are attached to stubby legs on its sides. It was also wearing sunglasses.

'Whoa... I've never seen these Pokemon before...' Ash thought before taking out his Pokedex and pointing it at the ladder Pokemon.

Sandile, the Desert Croc Pokemon.

A dark membrane protects its eyes from the sun, and it buries itself in the sand with its eyes and nose sticking out.

Serena decided to check her Pokedex as well, on the former Pokemon, who she thought was cute.

Axew, the Tusk Pokemon.

Axew marks its territory by making scratch marks on trees with its tusks, which regrow if they fall out.

As Nate perceived, the two were having a Battle. Axew's eyes then glowed red as its stomach began to glow purple. It then opened its mouth and shot an orb of purple energy surrounded by blue and red rings.

Sandile jumps into the air, dodging Axew's attack, glowing several different colors and then stomps down onto the ground, causing sand to swirl out from under it in all directions.

When the Sandstorm cleared, Sandile was nowhere to be found. Axew looked worried as it was searching for Sandile. The ground beneath Axew then began to crumble as Sandile popped from underneath it, hitting it directly.

Axew was about to attack Sandile again but a mysterious person swung on a vine and jumped between the two. It was a girl with dark violet hair and long messy purple hair. She was wearing a light yellow shirt with pink wrists and a pink skirt. She also wore white pants that stop a little after her knees.

"So there you are!" She said as she turned to look at Axew. "I know you're not my Pokemon but I'm in charge of taking care of you!" She then picked Axew up by her arms like a baby.

A second Axew then popped out of the girl's big hair. The Axew who was battling the Sandile began to cry. The girl then had a concerned and confused look on her face, appearing to have no idea what to do.

Serena then walked up towards the girl. "Excuse me..." she said. The girl then turned to face Serena. "May I?" Serena asked. The girl hesitated but eventually gave Serena the little Axew.

"Hey there little fella..." she said with a big smile on her face. Axew then stopped crying as it looked at Serena. "Are you okay? Where is your Trainer?" Axew then looked down. Serena frowned but then smiled again. "Don't worry, it'll be okay..."

Axew then stopped crying and hugged Serena tightly. The girl and her Axew where stunned. "How did you do this...?" She asked Serena. Serena smiled at the girl. "My mom used to do that to my Eevee a couple of years back..." she replied. "I guess calming down Pokemon runs in my family..."

Ash then walked over Serena and the girl, with Nate and Dawn shortly behind him. "What's going on?" He asked. Serena shrugged, basically stating that she doesn't know.

The girl however had something to say. "This Axew's Trainer passed away about a week ago..." she looked down. Serena and the rest gasped as the little Axew cried harder and held Serena tighter.

Serena held Axew closer to her, trying to reassure that everything will be okay. Ash then looked at Axew. "Hey there..." he said. "You're gonna be okay! We're going to help you!" "Pikachu!" Pikachu squeaked in agreement.

For some reason though, the Sandile wasn't having any of that. It fired a stream of brown mud from its mouth at Axew and our heroes. Sandile's Mud Slap was blocked by the girl's Axew using Dragon Rage to cancel it out.

"HEY! WHAT'S THE BIG IDEA?!" Ash yelped in surprise and annoyance. The Sandile giggled before leaving the area by using Dig. The group then turned to the Axew in Serena's arms, who was now sleeping peacefully.

"Wow! I've never been able to put it asleep so fast..." the girl said. "By the way, I'm Iris West!" (Whoever gets that reference gets a Brownie Point)

The group introduce themselves to Iris. "So Iris..." Dawn spoke up. "Why are you taking care of this Axew? I mean, don't get me wrong Repeat Balls exist for a reason, but you already have one..."

Iris smirked before turning around and jumping towards a tree branch, grabbing hold of it and climbing up. "I AM A DRAGON MASTER IN TRAINING!" She exclaimed while climbing the tree higher until her head popped out of the top of the tree.

"And as a Dragon Master in Training..." she continued. "I need to be the best at taking care of Dragon Type Pokemon!" She then jumped away from the tree while doing a flip before landing on her feet.

She then stood up like nothing happened, to the astonishment of everyone there. "So... would any of you want to battle me?" She asked in a determined tone. Ash then stepped forward. "OH YOU'RE ON!" "PIKACHU!" Pikachu squeaked in support of its Trainer.

The two decided on a Battlefield to work on, stated borders and began to prepare. Nate decided to act as referee. "Alright then!" He said, raising his hand. "This is going to be a one-one-one Pokemon Battle between Ash and Iris! The Battle will be over once either Trainer's Pokemon is unable to continue! Substitutions aren't allowed but healing items are!"

Iris was the first one to draw out her Pokeball, without Nate even saying so. "DRAGONAIR! LET'S GO!" She exclaimed as she hurled her Pokeball forward, releasing her Pokemon.

It was a long, serpentine Pokemon with sky blue scales and a white underside. Its violet eyes are dark and glossy. It has a smooth, rounded snout and a small, white horn on its forehead. Its head is flanked by two small, stylized wings, which are white and curve into a swirl at the base. Three blue, crystal orbs, one on its neck and two on its tail, adorn its body.

"DRAAAAAAA GNOAIR!" It half-hissed half-roared. 'Hey check it out!' Ash thought. 'I've seen one of these before...' Serena however hasn't, and so she decided to check her Pokedex.

Dragonair, the Dragon Pokemon.

Lakes where Dragonair live are filled with offerings from people, because they believe this Pokemon is able to control the weather.

Ash looked at his shoulder, where Pikachu was staying. "Wanna try this out buddy?" He asked. "PIKA!" Pikachu squeaked as it raised its paw (closing it into a fist). Ash smirked. "ALRIGHT! PIKACHU I CHOOSE YOU!" He exclaimed as he pointed his finger at Dragonair, causing Pikachu to jump out of his shoulder and into the Battlefield.

"Alright... BATTLE BEGIN!" Nate exclaimed while bringing his arm down, allowing the Battle to officially begin. "ALRIGHT PIKACHU, LET'S GO ALL OUT!" Ash stated. "USE ELECTRO BALL!" He commanded.

Pikachu's body becomes surrounded in yellow electricity and multiple yellow sparks come off Pikachu's body. All the electricity then condenses at Pikachu's tail and forms into an yellow orb of electricity with sparks of blue electricity coming off it. Pikachu then jumps into the air and flips forward, firing the orb from its tail at Dragonair.

"DRAGONAIR! ICE BEAM!" Iris swiftly commanded. Dragonair's neck orb begins to glow cyan and white as cyan snowflakes surround it. A cyan and white beam of energy is then blasted from the orb, surrounded by bluish-white snowflakes.

Dragonair's Ice Beam hits Pikachu's Electro Ball, stopping it in its tracks. Ice Beam and Electro Ball fight for dominance but in the end Dragonair's Ice Beam was able to freeze Pikachu's Electro Ball, causing it to drop to the ground and shatter on impact.

Everyone who witnessed this was shocked by what just happened. 'I never knew you could Freeze an attack like that...' Ash and Serena thought simultaneously. Iris wasted no time. "NOW! USE AQUA TAIL!" She commanded.

Dragonair's tail becomes surrounded in a light blue aura, with water swirling around the tip. Dragonair then jumps in the air and flips forward (so its tail is facing Pikachu), and it begins to try and slam its tail at Pikachu.

"COUNTER WITH IRON TAIL!" Ash commanded after snapping out of the shock of seeing Pikachu's Electro Ball frozen. Pikachu's tail then flashed white before transforming into metal.

As soon as Dragonair's Aqua Tail was about to hit, Pikachu slammed its tail, intercepting with Dragonair's. After some struggle for control, the two were then blasted backwards.

"PIKACHU USE VOLT TACKLE!" Ash commanded again. Pikachu gathers electricity into its body then surrounds itself with a golden dome, causing its body to appear black and white. It then began to charge at Dragonair with incredible speed.

"DODGE IT! THEN DRAGON DANCE!" Iris commanded. Dragonair was able to dodge Pikachu's Volt Tackle right on time. Its body then became surrounded in a red and pink misty aura, as it flew around in the air.

'Dragon Dance raises a Pokemon's Attack and Speed...' Ash thinks. 'What attack is she gonna use next?' Iris then gives out her next command. "ALRIGHT DRAGONAIR, USE DRAGON PULSE!"

Dragonair fires a multicolored dragon-shaped beam of energy from its mouth at Pikachu. Ash gasped at Dragonair's speed and the power of the Dragon Pulse. "COUNTER IT WITH THUNDERBOLT!"

Pikachu then blasted a yellow and blue electric blast surrounded by purple rings at the incoming Dragon Pulse, the two moves colliding and creating a huge explosion. Iris gasped. "Whoa... no-one's ever been able to counter Dragonair's Dragon Pulse before..." she said.

Ash smirked. "PIKACHU! NOW'S OUR CHANCE!" He exclaimed. "USE VOLT TACKLE!" Pikachu then jumped out of the smoke, surrounded by a golden electricity dome, creating a huge hole in the smoke. It then charges towards Dragonair with incredible speed, colliding with it and creating a second explosion.

After the dust cleared, Pikachu and Dragonair were both still standing. "AQUA TAIL!" "ELECTRO BALL!" The two Trainers commanded simultaneously. Pikachu then fired a ball of electricity while Dragonair was about to slam its tail, which was surrounded by a swirl of water, at Pikachu.

The two attacks once again collided with each other, creating another explosion to surround the Battlefield. It was Iris' turn to smirk now. "NOW ICE BEAM!" She commanded.

Dragonair then flew out of the cloud of dust blasted another Ice Beam, but this time it was on the cloud, freezing it with Pikachu still inside. Ash gasped. "PIKACHU NO!" He called out to his frozen partner.

Serena and the others gasped in worry as well. 'Come on Ash... I know you can do it...' she mentally cheered him on. Ash had to think quick, before Dragonair could attack Pikachu again.

Ash then remembered something. He remembered how Serena's Eevee was able to just barely escape Miette's Slurpuff's Psychic. 'It took a bit of luck, and a raise of affection...' he thought. 'But I know we can do it!'

"PIKACHU! LISTEN TO MY VOICE!" Ash shouts. "DRAGONAIR! GO FOR THE DRAGON PULSE!" Iris commands. Dragonair then blasted its Dragon Pulse at the frozen cloud. "PIKACHU! WE'VE BEEN TOGETHER THROUGH SO MUCH! YOU CAN'T LOSE TO THIS! PLEASE PIKACHU!"

Suddenly, before Dragonair's Dragon Pulse could hit, the icy cloud began to glow yellow. The glow began to intensify before Ash's Pikachu blasted forward, breaking the ice with a powerful Volt Tackle.

As soon as Pikachu broke the ice, it was hit by Dragonair's Dragon Pulse, sending it blasting backwards. Before Ash could ask if Pikachu was okay, it jumped high in the air and stood up, ready to fight.

Serena sighed in relief. "Thank goodness Pikachu was able to get free..." Nate and Dawn however, just stood there in shock. "DRAGONAIR! USE DRAGON PULSE ONE MORE TIME!" Iris commanded, determined to win. "ALRIGHT! FINISH THIS WITH THUNDERBOLT!" Ash commanded back.

The two Pokemon sent out their signature attacks, causing for a struggle for control in the middle of the Battlefield.

Then after a few seconds, both attacks actually redirected themselves towards their senders, causing Pikachu to be hit by its own Thunderbolt and Dragonair to be hit by its own Dragon Pulse, creating two huge explosions.

Once the dust cleared, Pikachu was panting and sweating like crazy, but was still standing. Dragonair however was knocked-out cold. "Dragonair is unable to battle! Pikachu wins! Meaning that Ash is the winner!" Nate exclaimIed as Iris returned Dragonair to its Pokeball.

"ALRIGHT! WE DID IT PIKACHU!" "PIKACHU!" Ash and Pikachu began to cheer. "You're celebrating too hard for winning!" Iris exclaimed with an annoyed tone, causing Ash to stop. "You're such a kid!"

"Hey! That's not a nice thing to say!" Nate exclaimed. Iris crossed her arms. "It's a bit hypocritical don't you think...?" Serena stood up. "Since you're the one acting like a kid!" Everybody couldn't help but chuckle.

"Hmph..." Iris shrugged while walking towards Serena. "Now c'mon little one..." she said. "It's time to come home..." the Axew Serena was holding woke up and shook its head.

"No?! What do you mean n..." Iris was unable to finish her sentence before an explosion caught them off-guard. They all looked up, trying to find the source of the explosion, two grunts from Team Plaama, the evil team who were attacking Leaf. (Chapter 18)

"HEY! YOU'RE THE GUYS WHO ATTACKED LEAF THE OTHER DAY!" Ash exclaimed, recognizing them immediately. "Indeed we are..." the man said. "But do you know who we really are...?" The woman spoke up.

"You're Team Plasma!" Nate said while stepping forward. The grunts were shocked. "How did you know that?" The woman asked. "You said so back when you attacked Leaf..." he continued.

The two facepalmed. "Doesn't matter!" The woman said. "Nobody can stop Attila and Hun of Team Plasma from accomplishing their goals of freeing all Pokemon from their oppressive captors! GO SCRAFTY!" The woman, Attila, said before throwing a weird Pokeball in the air, releasing her Pokemon.

This is the Pokeball Attila used...

It was a bipedal, lizard-like Pokemon. It has oval, wide-set eyes with small pupils and gray eyelids, as well as small nostrils and a wide mouth with bared teeth, giving it the appearance of a permanent sneer. It sports a red crest on its head, similar in appearance to a mohawk.

Baggy yellow skin hangs off its shoulders, falling halfway down its back. Its body is orange, with thin arms and a gray, scaled belly. Its lower body and tail are covered by loose yellow skin resembling baggy trousers. On its tail is a single red scale.

"GO DRAPION!" The man, Hun, commanded, releasing his Pokemon.

It was a large, purple, scorpion-like Pokemon. Its eyes are a pointed shape, with blue-colored upper portions. It has two small, pointed protrusions between its eyes, and one on the back on its head. It also has protrusions on its jaws, two on the upper and three on the lower, with large, fang-like, white-colored features extending from its mouth.

Its body is composed of many violet-to-lavender body segments which ends with a tail with two stingers. It has four segmented legs with pointed toes. Its most distinguished feature is its huge claws.

Both Pokemon let out their cries. "USE BRICK BREAK!" "USE PIN MISSILE!" Both Attila and Hun commanded their Pokemon simultaneously, causing them to attack.

"AXEW! OUTRAGE!" Iris commanded her Axew, but before HER Axew could attack, the Axew Serena was holding jumped in front of it and created a circular force-field around everybody.

A sphere of bright orange energy forms inside of Axew's mouth and is fired into the sky, where it explodes and releases several brown spheres of energy, outlined in purple and surrounded by orange rings. These 'comets' then rain down on the Team Plasma grunts, creating a huge explosion.

Once the dust cleared the Team Plasma grunts have run away in fear. "I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT AXEW JUST USED DRACO METEOR!" "PIKA PIKA!" Ash and Pikachu squealed in excitement. Before anyone could say anything, Axew brushed against Serena's leg.

"Huh?" Serena knelt down to be on Axew's level. "You want me to catch you?" Axew nodded and Serena smiled. "Okay, here goes..." she says as she pulls out a Pokeball. She then taps the Pokeball on Axew's head, causing it to get sucked into the Pokeball in a flash of blue.

"ALRIGHT! I JUST CAUGHT AN AXEW!" She exclaimed while holding her Pokeball in victory. "Congrats Serena!" Ash says as he steps closer to her. "Thanks!" She replies in a playful tone. Our heroes say their goodbyes to Iris as they start heading towards Driftveil City.

Hey guys! Infinityalbi10 here! Shoutout to Ash-Greninja-Xyz, janu07explorer and evergreenboy for following me! Thanks a lot you guys! Now let this be a disclaimer, Ash will NOT be catching the sunglasses Sandile/Krokorok/Krookodile. That was my original intention but then I thought of something better (even though it lacks in originality). Next chapter is going to be a special one, so here's the summary:

Our heroes arrive in Driftveil City, sight of Ash's 5th Unova Gym Battle. However just like last time (and the time before that), they get distracted and Ash doesn't challenge the Gym Leader right away.

In this case, they're distracted by some Team Plasma grunts trying to steal a bag from a girl and a boy, only to be met by resistance from the boy's Pikachu and the girl's unusual Vulpix.

Nate wants to try his best to win for once and decides to challenge the boy, Kevin, into a three-on-three Battle.

Will Nate emerge victorious? Or will it be Kevin? Will Ash be able to challenge the Gym Leader? And why was Team Plasma after that bag?
