DISCLAIMER:
This piece of work is a written presentation of my own theories and ideas. If you have negative comments in mind, I'd prefer that you keep them to yourself. I apologise if my work offends or causes upset, and if so, I'd like to know how I can improve my work. Please remember that I am only one person, with a rather wild imagination, so some of the things you read may make absolutely no sense, much alike most of my stories.

That being said, please do not claim these ideas as your own. They are mine and I must be credited. Enjoy :).

This is part of a series in which I will post separate parts each consisting of a different branch of mental health that I believe is related to Ash.

This part will discuss the theory that Ash has ADHD.

ADHD is otherwise known as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. This includes symptoms such as inattentiveness, hyperactivity and impulsiveness.

It is difficult to find examples for each single point, so most of this is based off of his general character. The following points are all considered possible symptoms of ADHD.

First of all, Ash has a lot of energy. He jumps and moves around a lot, and is always excited. He is identified as the personality type EFNP, which means he is energetic and enthusiastic. There have even been times where he couldn't sleep due to his excitement for a battle the following day. This is not to claim that simply having a lot of energy directly links to ADHD, but it is one of multiple factors that supports this theory.

Secondly, he is interested in a lot of things (thus getting excited when learning new things), and finds it hard to focus, often being forgetful. There is an example of him being forgetful in BW050, when he 'totally forgot' that his Snivy was female when Attract was ineffective during a battle. He does things like this a lot, you'll notice if you watch the series that he is constantly asking new questions and wondering about things. Again, this doesn't necessarily mean that he has ADHD, but it is a factor.

Thirdly, he is very impulsive. He has a habit of stopping in his tracks to help strangers or do things that he just thought of. He is also very reckless when it comes to making quick decisions.

Fourthly, he is disorganized. He has trouble prioritizing things properly (especially himself) and tends to lose track of time especially when it comes to training.

Lastly, he has a temper and gets angry/happy very easily. His emotions shift quickly and he can't stay in the same mood for too long. This can also link to how impatient he can be from time to time.

I would like to clarify once more than someone with any number of these characteristics does not necessarily have ADHD. If you are concerned that you may have ADHD, please seek help from a professional. These are just a few points about Ash's general character that lead me to believe he might have this mental condition. I do not mean to offend anyone, and I apologize profusely if I do (if so, please let me know how I can do better).

I'd love to know your thoughts about this theory!

this one was kinda short but uhh what do you guys think?

please let me know if i was being insensitive at all, this is my first time discussing a theory about mental health and i didn't mean to offend anyone if i did
