DISCLAIMER:
This piece of work is a written presentation of my own theories and ideas. If you have negative comments in mind, I'd prefer that you keep them to yourself. I apologise if my work offends or causes upset, and if so, I'd like to know how I can improve my work. Please remember that I am only one person, with a rather wild imagination, so some of the things you read may make absolutely no sense, much alike most of my stories.

That being said, please do not claim these ideas as your own. They are mine and I must be credited. Enjoy :).

Good morning! (Or evening/night, for some of you). How are you doing today? I hope you drank enough water, ate all of your meals, had at least a little bit of fun today and, most importantly right now, stayed safe in these unpredictable times.

Today I'll be talking about my theories surrounding Ash's metabolism, so let's just get straight to the point!

(In many of my stories, mostly oneshots, I tend to occasionally mention that Ash is underweight. This usually stems from others being able to carry him so easily, or his bones being more prone to fracture. In a megabondshipping oneshot series I wrote, in one of the oneshots, Ash has a breakdown and refers to his 'metabolism being through the roof'. So, needless to say, I am very interested in this.)

According to the official information from Pokemon Nintendo, Ash is 5"4' and 43kg (kilograms), which would make his BMI about 15.7. These characteristics are dangerously far into the underweight category. Although there is also height to consider and the information does also state that he is short, a BMI of 18 or less is unhealthy regardless.

Ash is known for his impressive fitness which is displayed in his acts of climbing, carrying very heavy things such as logs and being able to run long distances at high speeds. However, his weight and the animated idea of his body could argue that muscle/bone density is not the cause of this.

Ash is also known to eat a lot. Throughout all of the series you will find that he frequently implies hunger, and gets very excited about food.

So here is my main concluded theory.

Ash has a condition known as hypermetabolism. This means his metabolism exceeds at unnatural rates and he can lose large amounts of weight without exercise or dietary restrictions. This is why he is always hungry, can eat whatever he wants whenever he pleases without gaining weight and constantly has so much energy that he has to move a lot/be loud and excited to exert all of it.

I believe there is also a small chance that he knows this, and doesn't want to let anyone know so not to make people worry, so he simply insists on eating to maintain his weight.

This could also explain why he falls asleep so easily. People with high metabolism experience episodes of fatigue as well as energy. He is very active and loud during the day, but falls asleep quickly at night. In some cases, when too much of his energy is exerted at once, he suddenly collapses (e.g. XYZ ep.23).

And lastly, this could link into the theories that feature him as not completely human and/or with supernatural features, as no human should be able to even walk with those measurements, and some would've died by then.

This is just my opinion and I'm not asking you to agree, I just thought I'd write about my ideas and see what others think about it.

That being said, I know that this is quite a short theory, but I have other theories that are posted or will be posted to this book soon! Otherwise, have a wonderful day/evening/night. Thanks for reading, if you didn't thanks for even coming here in the first place, it means a lot to me.

I hope you all get the Christmas presents you've been hoping for!
