Greetings! This story is a full rewrite of a story I published over six years ago called Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Shadows of the Truth.

I wanted to make this because there are a lot of stories that take elements based on the trilogy of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon stories I've made but Shadows of the Truth was a very rough start that doesn't really capture the feeling of the other two. Reading through all of the stories at once it felt like an entirely different world from the sequels.

So I made a rewrite. I retooled a lot of plot elements to make them far better but it still functions as the start of a trilogy. You don't need to read any stories before this one to be able to enjoy it.

There are two sequels after this and some stories that feature elements from the trilogy that I recommend checking out after this one. But for now, enjoy this simple start!

If you're for whatever reason interested in reading the original story, I've included a link to a document containing the full, unedited, text of that story. It's very low quality, mind you. But I wanted this to be available for preservation purposes. Now... onto the story!
