"H-Hey give it back!"

You were walking through the streets of Hau'Oil city, you came from Kanto to the Alola region for your summer holidays.

And a certain boys' voice got your attention;

There was quite a scene going on at the ship harbour, so you went to check out what was going on.

There were three turquoise haired boys who wore black and white emo-like clothes doing some weird gestures at a rather tanned, green haired boy.

All of them seemed to be a bit younger than you.

The more tanned one seemed to be concerned about something or particularly nervous, "I said to give it back!"

"No-no-no we ain't yeah" the other ruffian-looking one answered, doing those weird gestures again.

You couldn't help but step in, "What's wrong?".

The green haired boy turned to face you and it seemed like his expression softened as he saw you.

"I'm sorry miss, but.. could you maybe help me get my Pokémon back?" The boy asked hesitantly, twiddling with his fingers as he looked into your eyes.

You turned your head to who you assumed were some bad teams' grunts, some people similar to Kanto's Team Rocket, then nodded at the tanned boy, "sure".

You threw your Pokéball into the air which released your Ninetales, one originally from Kanto which obviously had soft-gold fur.

You told your Pokémon to attack the grunts with Flamethrower, also to avoid that little Koala-like Pokémon they held, apparently called 'Komala'.

Ninetales let out a cry before he breathed out fire, burning the criminals slighlty, causing to drop the Pokémon to the ground as they fled.

"Komala!", The boy called out, running toward his barely hurt Pokémon as he took it in his arms, "Thank you!".

"It's no big deal, glad i could help" you responded, petting Ninetales and giving it a rainbow colored Pokébean.

After it had eaten, you let him, it was a male ninetales, return to his Pokéball.

"Everything a'right here?" now it was an older sounding voice who caused you to turn around.

Now you were facing an almost shirtless, not bad looking, young man, more or less your age, who went over to the green haired boy, messing up his hair.

"That wasn't that manly of you, Hau, asking a young lady for help" he said, grinning widely, the boy nodding slightly embarrassed.

You felt like defending the cinnamon roll-like boy, so you just said a simple: "It was no big deal, really!".

The one with the unbuttoned shirt nodded before stretching his hand out for you to shake it, "I'm Kukui, nice to meet you".

A bit hesitant, you shook his hand, somehow pulling off a smile on your face, "I am Y/N, nice to meet you too".

"I-I'm Hau!" The green haired boy said a bit too energetic, ending up squeezing Komala slightly.

"I think it should be proper to invite you for a drink" Kukui said, pulling his hand away to the back of his head, "As a thanks. You helped Hau here after all".

It didn't seem nice nor necessary to refuse, so you walked to a nearby restaurant with the two.

And that was how you spent the evening with the two you had just met.

After you have had your drinks and exited the little restaurant, Hau got both you and the professors, what you have found out, attention;

"Y/N, you used a Pokémon to battle those Team Skull grunts, right? What was it?"

"It was a Ninetales" you replied, letting the Pokémon out of his Pokéball to show.

"Look professor, it's different from yours!" The green haired boy explained, pointing his finger on your gold-fur Ninetales.

Kukui took a moment to look at it more close then asked you where you were from, you answering Kanto.

"You see, Ninetales here in Alola look different" Kukui said, then threw one of his Pokéballs in the air.

A white-fur fox-like Pokémon popped out, swinging its tails around as it stared at your ninetales with its crystal blue orbs.

After you and Kukui had showed each other your different looking Pokémon, the professor had asked you if you'd like to come over at his labs sometimes, research reasons.

You gladly accepted, and that was how you two grew closer.

A month or so passed, you always dropped by at Kukui's lab also meeting with Hau and his friends such as Lillie and Sun.

"Morning!" You called out, inviting yourself inside Kukui's house and lab, not even bothering to knock.

"Good morning, Y/N-san!" You heard Lillie call from her department in a soft voice, Hau greeted too since he was with her.

Not hearing Kukui, you assumed he was downstairs continuing to do his research about Alolan Pokémon.

And so, you went down there to check, only to find the tanned male petting his Ninetales.

"Good morning, professor" you said, walking up to them from behind.

Kukui turned around smiling, "Mornin' Y/N".

You threw your Pokéball which permitted your Ninetales to get out, instantly tackling Kukui's female one.

Both the Pokémon had gotten pretty close ever since you started helping Kukui with his research.

And you can't lie about you and the professor growing closer too.

You went to sit on Kukui's couch for a bit, but the male himself got your attention; "Hey Y/N".

To respond, you turned around, only to be shocked by what you have gotten;

A kiss, on the lips, from the professor.

He had leaned his one hand against the couch to support himself and placed the other one beneath your chin, holding it up as he connected your lips.

You felt blood rushing to your cheeks and without even having the time to react, the tanned male had already pulled away, grinning.

"You'll help me with my research, right?" With a blush crossing his cheeks he had asked you, scratching the back of his head.

"Y-Yeah s-sure!"
