FemAsh and Riley. I don't know much about Sir Aaron so this might be bad.

(Also I'm a little confused about how Riley and Sir Aaron are two different people?!?! If it annoys you how I refer to them as the same person, I'm sorry, but I have no idea since I never watched any Pokemon series or movies before XY really. Also this is an AU)

The white moon gleamed through the glass-paned windows of the palace. Some of the windows were colorful, their panes organized in such a way that they told a story. Spots of light were scattered across the halls, creating a peaceful image for the Princess wending her way through them.

She was bathed in a sparkling blue dress, which was lined with roses and elegant patterns. Circling her head was a crown made of diamond and silver, etched with the finest jewels and the lushest of flowers. On her hands were white and blue gloves sewed in such a way that it was an art how they wrapped themselves around her palm and fingers. One could almost hear the echoes of her delicate, glass shoes as they lightly pounded against the floor. And her face. Her gorgeous dark eyes and her plump, soft red lips. The way her fringe so perfectly lined the top of her forehead. Her very presence gleamed above everything else.

Ash had just come back from one of the many painful balls she'd had to put up with. Since she was a child, she had no choice but to obey others and maintain an image that was thought to suit her. And at this certain ball, she'd been expected to find a suitor. Men from all around the world had arrived to take her hand in marriage. But she wasn't interested in all these men. Yes, they were handsome in some ways, but their skill and attitude was appalling to say the least. She wanted a kind man who offered personality instead of looks. Someone who at least had some similar interests to her. Her expectations were anything but high.

The worst part was when her father, who partly knew her dislikes, referred to her with her full name, 'Ashura'. Oh, how that name infuriated her! She would always urge others to shorten it to Ash. She didn't want to be some fancy, poised 'Ashura'. She wanted to be Ash, to go on adventures and meet new people.

She finally reached a dead end of the hallway. All that was left was to turn back or enter the balcony. The biggest, highest balcony of the palace. She'd been walking on her own for so long she'd set foot on each corridor of each wing of each floor, until she'd reached the end of the top. Thinking she'd rather waste more time than return to the party, she threw her hand forward. A blue light emerged from her fingertips, and the door swung open at her will.

She kicked away those uncomfortable heels, ripped off her finely sewed gloves and heavy dress to reveal her slim figure, and pried those stupid accessories off her hair, making her bun fall back into her long, black hair, which reached her now bare feet. Her dress was now just a simple, blue flow of fabric that covered her legs and arms, she didn't have that tight bun squeezing her hair together anymore, and she could walk wherever and however she wanted without being forced onto her toes by a pair of glass.

Knowing that everyone in the palace was expected to be occupied by the party, and, if not there, anyone else would be asleep, she steadied her hands onto the balcony to lift herself up slightly, and began to let her voice echo through the dark sky. The beautiful way she vocalized and controlled her song so amazingly, was so impressive that someone below seemed to be drawn to her. A figure dressed in black and blue, wearing a hat to top his spiky hair. He could listen to her sing forever.

Ash continued to sing her heart out, not just the happiness she felt of being free for the night, but the pain she felt of having to conceal her true self, not only her personality, but her power. Since she was born, she'd been told her power was extraordinary, something unlike the world had ever seen before. She'd even been told that she surpassed the likes of Arceus and Mewtwo. But she didn't want to believe it. She didn't want to be a powerful Princess, if it came with the price of having to cage her emotions every hour she lived.

"You have a wonderful voice", complimented a soothing tone from behind her.

She turned around to see a man, who looked like a guard, wearing a suit and hat. He was leaning against the door and staring at her with those gorgeous ocean eyes.

"T-Thank you", Ash replied, trying her best not to stutter.

Usually, in situations like these, she'd ignore the man and walk away or something similar, but now, she felt her heart pounding so wildly that heat instantly rushed through her body. She found herself unable to move as he stepped closer.

"What's your name?"

"My name? You don't know who I am?"

"Well, of course I know who you are. You're the Princess. I just don't know your name"

"Ashura. But you can call me Ash"

Strange. She'd never said that to anyone before. She'd never even suggested to those she'd trusted most to call her Ash. And now she mentioned it to this stranger?

"Ash. What are you doing out here? Shouldn't you be at the party?"

"I could ask you the same. You're a guard, aren't you?"

"I am. But that hustle of people drinking their lives away and dancing under the spotlight with a crowd surrounding them...I'd rather be out here. Watching the moon. Wouldn't you?"

"Well, of course I would. That's why I'm here. I've never shown interest in things like that"

She wasn't sure why, at this very moment, she was pouring her life out to this unknown man who, for all she knew, could've been some sort of spy or assassin, but something inside of her was telling her to keep going.

"The King organized this event in search of a man to take your hand in marriage. Correct?"

"Yes, but I don't agree with it. In fact, I believe it's absurd! That I should have to marry one who may not truly love me for who I am, but for my looks. I desire someone with a good heart"

The man chuckled lightly and shook off his hat, removing the shadow from his face and hair so she could see his kind smile and gentle eyes.

"As do I. It's hard to want something like that, here and now. I don't come from a family as noble as yours, but I still wish to live my life with someone who truly loves me"

He offered his hand to her. Without thinking, the Princess took it and, before she knew it, this stranger had his lips on hers. They separated soon after, as he sat her down and closed the balcony doors.

"I heard that your aura is quite powerful", he remarked as a blue spark was ignited from his gloves.

"It's true. My power is something the Kingdom has never seen the likes of. But I couldn't care less if being powerful comes with the price of suffering all my life. Surrounded by so many people, though I feel so alone. Always getting everything I wanted, yet I wanted something more"

The stranger listened as he watched her play with the gleaming blue wind dancing in her palms.

"I'm not spoiled. I know that. But since my mother passed, I've forgotten how it feels to be loved. For someone to care for me and admire parts of me that don't meet the eye. But no. I'm a Princess who has to be locked behind this fortress of a palace until I give my life away to someone who means nothing to me"

The man paused before taking her hands in his.

"I can't relate to your situation much, but I grew up poor. My family depends on me to serve the Kingdom well as a guard, so that I can make enough money to provide for them. They remind that one day I will have to marry a noble woman who possesses the riches required for my family. Many women have approached me, but they all couldn't be of worse people. Their heart only has room for greed. Being told I'm handsome means nothing to me"

The Princess giggled cheerfully as she stared into his warm eyes, tightening her grip on his hands.

"You're different. I like that", she said before getting to her feet as he did the same, leading him to the edge of the balcony.

She placed her feet onto the railing, hoisting herself upwards. She felt like she was on top of the world. As if the mountains were bowing down to her. She turned to face the man as he did the same.

"Do you trust me?"

"We'll have to see"

With that, she leaped into the air, still clenching his fingers. A pair of bright, blue wings emerged from her back, each soft feather gleaming spectacularly. She controlled her flight with ease as the wings went up and down, carrying her and her newfound love through the sky.

They soared through the clouds, bedazzled by the maze of stars above them. They could almost hear the moon singing in their presence. Everything was so perfect, even without a word exchanged between them. Every gust of wind was breathtaking.

The man yelped when something sharp seemed to fly narrowly his way. Ash stopped and looked down at him, only to see the same thing, only this time it was closer.

"Fire!", a voice from below yelled as another arrow pierced its way through the man's hat.

A barricade of arrows flew towards them. Ash could hardly protect herself against the sharp weapons, having to leave the man to dodge and defend himself. Suddenly, she heard a strained gasp escape him.

"A...a-ah...", he stuttered as he grasped his rib.

Ash looked down, immediately catching sight of the red liquid staining his blood and hands. Shrieking out in rage and fear as the man's hand slipped from hers, she released a wave of brilliant blue aura, throwing her voice past the trees and the clouds. Even the moon shivered in the presence of her terror. All was lost in a white void as her voice faded away.

She soon found herself standing before her father, who held her lover's throat in one hand and a sword in the other. An army of soldiers stood behind him.

"This will not happen!", he declared loudly as he slowly rubbed the sharp edge of the sword into the man's neck, "My daughter will not share the destiny of this Kingdom with this hooligan of a man!"

"It's not your decision, father!", Ash yelled back, "It's not just the destiny of our people. It's my destiny too! It's my life, and my choice!"

The King pushed the sword deeper into the man's throat, causing Ash to gasp as she shakily covered her mouth.

"You dare deceive the words of the late Queen?"

Ash was silent, seeming not even to draw a single breath. Her head hung from her neck.

"Why..."

"What?!"

She raised her head to reveal the tears streaming down her cheeks.

"Why...why do you call her that, father? Queen? We both know that she was my mother! Your actions now are proof that since her heart stopped beating, yours has been broken. Are you so lost and distraught that you forget the wishes she had for me?"

The King was now silent. His grip on his sword loosened as the man trapped in his grasp began to breathe slower.

"Her wish...her last wish...was for me to be happy. She wanted me to be happy, father. I have been trying to fulfill her wish ever since the day she lay lifeless in that coffin. I have always tried to make myself happy. You...you are the one who is deceiving her words"

The man's throat slipped from his hands as he fell to his knees. Ash ordered the army to leave as she sprinted breathlessly to her love.

"Sir...? Sir!", she cried out as her eyes were flooded with tears, "I...I never even caught your name..."

As she mourned the one who was still such a stranger to her, little did she know that that powerful aura of hers seeped into the man's skin and flesh and sowed it back together. She couldn't hear through her own gasps and whispers of pain, nor could she see for the tears that clouded her vision, until she felt a warm palm softly caressing the hair on her head.

"My name is Riley, beautiful Princess", he whispered gently to her as she was bewildered by the sight of his open eyes, "But they usually call me Sir Aaron"

Still gasping and whimpering slightly from shock, she wrapped her arms around him as he did the same, and tenderly pressed her lips onto his. Fairy-like dust of aura shimmered around them as they embraced each other.

Sorry, that was really dramatic. But I enjoyed writing it for you guys.

Also, apologies again about the mix-up between Sir Aaron and Riley, I just can't wrap my head around how they're different.

Also also, this took days to write because I kept procrastinating, but you are all very patient!

Also also also, I think my English has improved a lot since I started Wattpad, it's fun to look back on old stories and see the weird grammar I used.

Anyways, thanks for reading, requests always open and Happy New Year!
