Ash and Alain ran through the halls of the Lumiose Gym to find Clemont, until suddenly, Ash collapsed.

"Ash!"

Alain rushed to his side and shook him, but he wouldn't wake up. Alain found himself engulfed in a dark atmosphere. No walls, no ceiling, no nothing. Just black. Ash was still there with him, but a few feet apart and sitting up.

"Ash, where are we? Are you okay?"

"Yveltal..."

"What?"

"Yveltal..."

"Yveltal...you mean the Legendary Pokemon? Why are you saying his name?"

"He's my...my..."

Ash looked down.

"...My dad..."

"What?!"

"He loved my mom...and they had me...I was born with these powers..."

He looked at his shaking hands.

"Dark powers that can destroy anything. I'm even more powerful than my dad. But...they're connected to my emotions"

"I don't get it"

Tears started to roll down Ash's cheeks. Alain held him.

"Hey, it's okay. Take your time. I wanna understand, I really do"

"When I feel negative, my powers usually do horrible things...like, when I was younger and people used to bully me, I accidentally killed one of them. I didn't mean to. So, I thought if I found a dark type Pokemon and connect with it, I could express my emotions through them instead"

Greninja appeared in front of them. Ash's tears flooded over to it, and surrounded him in a flurry of water, transforming him into Ash-Greninja. Alain's eyes widened.

"...So the power from Ash-Greninja...comes from your sadness...?"

Ash looked at him teary eyed.

"Where do you think all that water came from?"

"You both have dark powers. You connected with it and used your tears to power up that Greninja and use it in battle. That means..."

"If I'm going to gain control of my powers, I'm gonna have to cut the bond between me and Greninja. But I...I'm sure lots of people would be unhappy with it and I...I just don't know what to do..."

Alain held his chin up with his hand and smiled.

"You know what you have to do. If people have negative reactions, fine. If people hate you for it, fine. But it won't affect you knowing you used it to save the world"

Ash wiped away his tears and stood up. The dark atmosphere disappeared and they were back in reality. Alain held his hand.

"You ready?"

Ash used his dark telekinetic powers to put his cap on Alain's head.

"Ready"
