Poppy had a big problem. She was too afraid to sleep in her bedroom because,she had a monster in her closet and she was afraid that if she closed her eyes and went to sleep the monster would come out and drag her away.

Poppy shivered as she hid under the covers. She grabbed her growl beast snuggle toy growly mcgee and held it close to her. She sniffled. She wanted to go to sleep but she was just too scared. Her eyes stayed on the closet she shivered. 'Please don't cone out to get me.' She quietly thought.

And all night Poppy remained awake. To her relief, the monster didn't come out. However in the morning, poppy found herself to be exhausted. At breakfast, her heavy eyes kept closing.

"Poppy?"

Poppy awoke with a start. "Hug time!" She exclaimed then she looked around and realized she was at the table with her father.

Poppy hugely yawned and reached for her cheese Danish.

"Poppy are you alright?" Peppy asked concerned.

Poppy nodded.

Peppy frowned. "You look really sleepy poppy."

Poppy yawned widely. "I'm ok daddy." Her eyes closed and she let out a soft snore.

Peppy gently got up and looked carefully at poppy. Why was poppy so sleepy.

"I think you could use a nap poppy." Peppy gently said. "I'll tuck you in bed and..."

Poppy's eyes flew open.

"No!" She exclaimed "I'm not sleepy daddy see?" With that she tried to look awake but failed." If I sleep in my room the monster is going to get me."

Peppy froze. Monster? "What monster?" He asked.

"The one in my closet. I saw it in there last night."

Ah so that was it. Poppy thought there was a monster in her closet.

Peppy remembered when he thought he had a monster in his closet. He was about to speak when he had an idea what if instead of showing his daughter there was not a monster. What if he fought it and chased it away.

"Poppy." Poppy looked sleepily at her father.

"I'm going to get rid of the monster so you can feel safe and sleep peacefully."

Poppy gasped. "No daddy don't go it will get you."

Peppy chuckled. "I'll be ok poppy." Gently he took poppys hand and led her to the door to her bedroom. "Now poppy I'm going to go in and get rid of the monster. Wait here until I call for you." With that peppy entered the room and closed the door

Poppy listened by the door. She could here the sound if her father approaching the closet she helped nervously.

"So you're the monster who's been making my little princess afraid. Then there was the sound of a struggle. Then poppy heard peppy say "now get out and don't you ever come back ever again."

Moments latter peppy opened the door and smiled. He led poppy to the closet and opened the door poppy gasped there was no monster.

"The monsters gone!" She excitedly said.

Peppy chuckled "that monster won't dare to return ever again and if he does he will have to deal with me."

Poppy clapped her hand and hugged her father. She then yawned sleepily.

Peppy smiled and tucked poppy into bed. "And now you can sleep peacefully without fear." He said. He kissed her forehead. "Good night my little princess."

Poppy didn't answer, the moment her head touched the pillow, she has fallen asleep.

Peppy quietly tip toed out the room and closed the door gently.

A few hours later he gently opened the door and smiled at the sight of poppy fast asleep smiling as she dreamed.

He would tell her there really had not been a monster in her closet when she was older. But not today.
