Branch should be ready. He had a ring and her father's blessing, so he should be ready. But he was missing one small thing.

How he was going to pop the question.

It shouldn't be hard. He just needed to choose the right place to take her out, recite one of his many romantic ballads, and ask her... "Will you marry me?"

"Soooorry duuuude, but you're not my tyyyyyyype..." Guy Diamond slurred before passing out on the counter. His breath reeked of wheatgrass juice.

"So, who's gonna be picking up the tab?" the barkeep asked.

Branch groaned. "Guy said he would, but..."

"I got it," squeaked a small, feminine voice with an Australian accent. Branch turned to find a yellow Troll with a blue nose wearing a black hat and sunglasses.

"Oh, thanks," Branch said.

The mysterious girl sat next to him and said, "So, you're having relationship problems?"

"I am not!" Branch replied. "I'm just scrambled. I want to ask Poppy to marry me, but I'm nervous, and I don't know where and how I'm gonna do it."

"Well, what's the most romantic place that comes to mind?"

"Anywhere away from everyone else," Branch answered. "I don't really like being the center of attention."

"Neither do I," the Troll replied, briefly pulling down her sunglasses. One eye was golden and the other was baby blue. Branch recognized this Troll as Blossom, the most famous and discreet pop star in Troll Village.

"Of course, what I just said probably wasn't very helpful," Branch pointed out.

"I think you're mostly nervous," Blossom said. "But don't worry, love. I'll make sure you propose in an isolated, but romantic environment. And all you have to worry about is asking Poppy for her hand."

Three days later, Branch was getting ready for the date. His nerves were shot, but he wasn't going to let it stop him.

"So, how do I look?" he asked the baby princess. She giggled at how disheveled her father looked.

"You're right, I look ridiculous," Branch agreed, and straightened himself up. "I know, Mommy loves Daddy and Daddy loves Mommy, so Mommy should say yes to marry Daddy, but I'm worried I'll look stupid."

"I'd mawwy you, Dada," Flower babbled.

Branch smiled tenderly. "That's really sweet, Flower bud, but it doesn't work that way. I'm gonna marry Mommy, and you'll someday marry one lucky Troll who I'll give you away to. But you and me will always be best friends."

Flower raised her arms up as Branch picked her up and kissed her forehead. Suddenly, there was a knock coming from upstairs and Branch placed his back into her crib.

"Be good to the babysitter," he reminded her and headed up the bunker.

That evening, at the fanciest French restaurant in Bergen Town...

"Good evening sir," a Bergen named Groth greeted the host. "Table for one, please."

"Sorry, but the whole restaurant has been rented to a private party," the host explained.

"What?! But it's my only night to be fancy!" Groth groaned. "Who could even afford to rent out the whole restaurant?!"

"The most famous popstar in Troll Village and a man proposing to the love of his life."

Branch was mostly silent during this date while Poppy had plenty to talk about. It confused the young queen, though. Usually, there was an equal amount of talking between them.

"Branch, are you okay?" she asked. "You haven't said anything since the waiter took your order."

Branch sighed. "Poppy, I've been thinking, and... You and Flower are the best thing that ever happened to me... Whenever we're apart, I feel like... something's missing, so..."

Once again, Branch was at a loss for words.

"Hey, I think our food's coming," Branch said, attempting to change the subject. "Smells great, doesn't it?"

"Um, okay?" Poppy replied as a waiter delivered their food.

Blossom watched the whole thing while sitting on the edge of a piano. Branch was blowing this and he knew it.

"Time for plan B," she decided, pulling out some sheet music Branch gave her. She gave it to the pianist and requested him to play in E major.

"Tonight," Blossom announced through a microphone as she pulled off her sunglasses and hat, revealing her yellow and blue hair with bangs covering her eyes, "I'm going to sing a special ballad written for our beautiful queen by the handsome gentleman with her tonight."

Poppy stared at the popstar in awe as she sang a love song about having your spirit lifted when someone fills your heart with love. At that moment Branch remembered that Poppy was his spirit-lifter and he couldn't live without her.

Without another fear, Branch took out the ring, got down on one knee right in front of Poppy, and caught her attention. Poppy looked down and gasped.

"Poppy... will you marry me?" he asked with hope in his eyes.

"Oh, Branch..." Poppy cried joyfully. "How could I say no? Of course I'll marry you!"

Branch slid the ring on the queen's finger and hugged her tight, looking forward to his future with the Troll he loved.

I might do a list of my ten favorite moments from Trolls: The Beat Goes On season two. But first, I gotta figure out what those ten moments are.

Until next time. ✌🏼
