The afternoon passed. It was nearly 6 pm when you and Taehee were choosing dresses for the party.
Yn: What colour should I wear?

Taehee: Why bother asking? You know that you look good in every colour..

She said, making it too obvious.

Yn: Ya! Jokes aside. Choose seriously..

Taehee: Okay, okay! At least give me options..

Yn: Here, red gown, umm.. black off shoulder, silver one piece or blue turtle neck?

Taehee: Hmm! How about that black?

Yn: It looks good.. but I guess it'll be too much! It's a bit heavy.

Taehee: Tell me what you wanna wear?

Yn: That silver one...

You said in a low tone.

Taehee: Then go wear it, you dumbass!

Yn: Arrasso arrasso! I'll get changed. What are you wearing?

Taehee: I'll wear that black since you're not wearing it.

Yn: Okay!!

In the meantime, Jungkook was in his headquarters with Minkyu.

Jk: Anything to highlight about today's party?

Minkyu: Nothing much, I guess it's the normal one.

Jk: Good then! Notify me if anything changes!

Minkyu: Ay ay captain!

And he turned around to the way out. Right after opening the door, he got a mail.

Minkyu: Sir, I found something..

By the time you and Taehee got ready, Tae-oh was ready with his suit, too.

It was approx 7.15 pm, and you three were having some quick snacks. Right after a little long, the doorbell rang. You all knew who it was, so the twins said, "Yn! Go!"

They whispered, pushing you forward.

Tae-oh: I'll head the washroom real quick!

Yn: Ya!! Ok, ok.

You walked to the door and unlocked it.

Jungkook looked up as soon as the door opened. He was so stunned to speak. You, too, looked at him like you looked at a shining star.

Jk: Y-You're looking beautiful!

There was a moment of silence, and within seconds, Minkyu, who was standing right behind Jk, popped out.

Minkyu: Anyong Nuna! You guys can continue, I'll go meet Taehee.

He said, sliding through the side while Jk glared at him and said "Shibal"

Three of you walked inside. Minkyu was shocked after looking at Taehee. He went near her and muttered, " Last time you were looking cute. Gosh! This time, you're looking se--"

Taehee: Ya! Hajima!! (Don't)

Jk: Oh God! Get a room, guys!

Minkyu: Hyung ~~

On this, everyone giggled.

At the same time, Tae-oh saw all of you laughing, so he asked, "What happened, guys?"

Jk glanced up further while Minkyu turned back to see who's that.

Tae-oh walked to them and introduced himself. "Hello! I'm Kang Tae-oh. Taehee's three minutes older twin."

Minkyu's eyes almost popped out after knowing Taehee had a twin brother while Jungkook was shocked to witness a man in your room.

Jk pulled you a bit close and whispered in your ear, "Who's this guy?"

Yn: He just said who's he.

Jk: I'm asking, who's this guy TO YOU?

You looked up at him after hearing his weird question.

Yn: What do you mean?

Jk: How he's related to you?

Yn: He's my family friend I mentioned before.

Jk: Huh? You said it's a girl!

Yn: When did I say that he's a girl? You yourself assumed it, Jungkook!

Jk: Did I?

Yn: Yes!!

When your mini chat was going on, Minkyu familiarized himself to Tae-oh.

Minkyu: Hey! I'm Kim Minkyu. Jk's mafia consigliere.

Tae-oh: Hi! Nice to meet you in person!!

Minkyu: Glad to meet you too!

Jungkook then interrupted, "Hello, Mr. Kang. I'm Jeon Jungkook, CEO of Mafiansta and the King of The Knights, the Underworld. Here is my card." He finished with a smirk.

Tae-oh: Thank you, Mr. Jungkook. I'm damn pleased to meet you!

Jk was over formal to him, which was making other all people a bit awkward.

Yn: Okay, enough of introductions and formalities. Let's get going!

And they moved towards the exit.

Jk: Uhh, Yn wait! I bought you something!

Taehee: Ohh, come on, Oppa, we should leave now!

Tae-oh: Mmm-hmm, let's go wait outside. Come on, Minkyu ssi!

You eyed Taehee and whispered, "What the hell?"

Now, only the two of you were in the room.

Jungkook was almost saying something, but Minkyu entered in with a bag.

Minkyu: Hey, you forgot your something.

He kept it there and left. Jk took long steps to fetch it and came back to you.

Jk: Here! Wear them tonight! I got heels for you!

Yn: Why did you have to buy them?

Jk: Cuz the shop won't give them for free!!

Yn: -_-

Jk: C'mon, wear it already! Or you want me to help you?

Yn: Ah - no, no! No need. I'll.. I'll wear them.

Then you both headed out.

Jk: Let's get on the seats!

He smiled and walked you to his car. You two were ready and driven first.

Meanwhile,

Tae-oh: Sista, let's get in the car!

Taehee: Minkyu ssi, you be in the car, I'll be back!

Minkyu: Hmm. I'll be waiting.

And he went to his car.

Taehee: Oppa! Do you mind going alone? I wanna go with him!!!

Tae-oh: Yaa! Wae?

Taehee: Umm... why don't you take the hint, Tae-oh ssi?? Let me go with him!

Tae-oh: Do you like him?

His tone was a bit angry and deep.

Taehee: Ya!! Why are you being like this?

Tae-oh: So you do like him!

Taehee: Who won't? Just look at his face.. and his dimples.. oh god!

Tae-oh: Ya ya! Enough!!

Taehee: Soo.. I'm going with him..?

Tae-oh: You--- Fine! But you'll come with me after the party, okay?

Taehee: Ok ok we'll see!

She responded quickly and headed to Minkyu's car.

He glanced her going into his car, and then he unlocked his .

On the way, you and Jk were awkwardly silent. Reason? The thought of confession was roaming around your head, and the fact that Jk knew it made him blush even more.

There was tension.

Jk: Umm.. They look good on you!

Yn: You're right!

And silence after that.

You all reached the destination nearly at 8.30 pm. Then you made your way in the hall.

It was decorated beautifully that it made you gasp. There was a sculpture of white peacock, which almost looked real.

Yn: Damn, how much would it cost?

Jk: Why bother asking? Enjoy since it's all free!

After a while, you and Taehee were exploring the decor while the men chatted.

Minkyu: So Tae-oh ssi, what do you do for a living?

Tae-oh: I'm a Mafia. In fact, I work under The Knights.

Jk: What??

Minkyu: Oh, that was unexpected! You.. work under hyung..!

Tae-oh: Yep!

Jk: What are you associated with?

Tae-oh: I deal with weapon trafficking. Countries to countries.

Jk: Oh!!

Minkyu: Since you're with us, lemme tell you today's agenda.

Tae-oh: Are we here with a plan?

Jk: Did you really think it'll be just a New Year's party pointing out the fact that I'M the one organising it?

Tae-oh: Oh! Ok, ok.

The time flows like the water in the river. It was 11pm.

Jungkook was standing at the very centre of the ballroom with a glass of champagne in his one hand and the other in his pocket.

A young lady dressed less like she wasn't here to celebrate the new year had her gun pointed at Jk's back.

A perfect shot despite the crowded ballroom. Taking a deep, steady breath, she pulled the trigger down and prepared to shoot the gun.

But then, her target, Jungkook, turned and looked directly at her, finding her in eaves as if he'd known she was there all along.

He winked.
