Bill's POV:

I teleport outside the shack and immediately hit the ground. Standing up I'm unsteady, but once I have my legs under me, I run. The only thing I can think of is my Pine tree. His face when he wakes up and I'm not there. I feel tears running down my face. I will them away and keep running.

I can't stay. I can't leave. I slow and then stop. I drop to the ground. How can one person, someone who used to hate me, who, maybe still does, have such an effect on me?

I look around. I'm in the clearing. My statue still stands, hand stretched out. Waiting to make a deal. I walk over to it. Looking at my old form I feel a twinge of pain. My power has diminished to almost nothing. I look up at the stars. They seem to radiate a cold energy. I shiver. I consider going back to the shack. I can't. I almost scream. I feel entirely helpless. I can't do anything. I can't even shift my form. Without my powers, I'm just a human.

Usually I could just draw energy from my realm, but I lost that ability when I shifted to this form. I planned to shift back as soon as I had gained people's trust as a human, but after I was taken inside the shack, I had to keep this form longer than usual. If I had just a bit more power I would have been able to shift back, but I lost energy so quickly I could barely do anything to get more. Human forms can't take as much as other forms can. Whether it's pain, pleasure, power. Anything really.

I think again of Pine tree. I think of leaving him and my heart aches. I think of staying and....
I turn away. Facing the statue. I grab its hand.
"Let's make a deal."

Oof. Sorry, but I needed some plotline. I know what I'm doing okay?
Later, Cipher
