real life

courtney had far too many drinks to be in possession of her phone. she found herself, yet again, texting theodore telling him to find her at a party. too many drinks deep.

this time she was standing in the middle of the common room. in the middle of everything. courtney was feeling far too many emotions. too many feelings about theodore. too close to her feelings last year.

from across the room, courtney locked eyes with theodore, just before he drunkly smirked at her. something not good was about to happen but courtney could feel, deep down, that she didn't care. that was bad.

"i found you," theodore said as he approached her.

"seems like it," courtney responded, trying to sound uninterested but she couldn't help the drunk smile form across her face.

"enjoying yourself?" he asked, replacing her empty drink with a full one.

"i actually am,", she told him.

"you sound surprised," theodore told her. his eyes traveled from courtney to the other side of the room. courtney followed his eyesight and found daphne and matteo not-so-subtly making out in the corner of the room. once they were done, daphne locked eyes with courtney, then theodore with a smug smile.

courtney turned back to theodore to see his face dropping into sadness. courtney knew something bad was going to happen when she saw the text from theodore. this was it.

without thinking, courtney grabbed theodore and pulled him closer, locking their lips together. she could've sworn she heard gasps from around them. the kiss was far from innocent, but courtney pulled away before it could get too crazy. she didn't need to turn around to know that daphne was still looking, theodore's face said it all. "what was that," he said with a smile.

what was that. courtney suddenly realized what she had done. so, without a word, she pushed through the crowd, out the door, to the gryffindor common room.
