Crack!

This is all that they heard as they then all got a shiver running to their spine. Beth looked back to see an outline of a figure with long hair on the now-wet ground. The room is dark, with only their flashlights as their only source of light. Beth felt scared that she felt like she was in a thriller movie. She tried to move forward but a strong pull from someone from her left, making her think twice before moving forward. She couldn't tell if it was either Johnathan or Emmanuel pulling her as she can hear the heavy breathing of the two males behind her. Beth stared deeply at the deep abyss called darkness. 

Beth then heard the heavy breathing decreasing until it became calm, but can still be heard. "Why. The. Hell. Would. It. Crack?" Johnny squeaked in panic as he slowly tried to do some breathing exercises. I for one would agree with him. Beth thought, Why DID it crack? Was it the lever? But Beth had no time to think it through before Johnny abruptly screamed in panic before Manny covered his mouth with the use of his hands. "What's going on?" Beth asked as her heart started beating rapidly. Different scenarios popped in her mind, wondering what happened that made Johnny scream. 

Beth heard a gasp before she felt a part of warmth behind gone and then heard footsteps splashing against the wet puddles before it stopped. "Manny!" She heard Johnny call out in a whisper before another presence left. Beth then heard the same thing again before she then had enough and turned around. Then she saw...

"Guys? What's going on-- Who the hell is that?!" 

Beth was shocked to the point of forgetting about her manners, but the rest of that didn't matter to her because what she saw was worse than being underground. She saw the body of a girl, face down,  seemingly around the age group of 8-10, but she isn't sure. She saw light dark hair sprawled out, covering the little girl's face. The condition of her body is so bad that she is pretty sure she is dead by now. What else worried Beth is that the girl is barely breathing judging from how slow her body is heaving, desperate to get air since the face is covered by her hair. 

"Where did she come from?" The blonde-haired woman asked the two boys in front of her as the raven-haired male then lifted the girl's unconscious body, being careful as to not try to hurt the unconscious girl. Then, they heard rumbling and felt the ground they are standing on to be shaking. Manny clutched the still sleeping girl close to him while Johnny went close to Beth and covered her.

"We have to get back up to the surface! NOW!!" Beth ordered loudly before scrambling towards the exit, the rest following her. They passed through many hallways but managed to get back to the site where a rope was hanging and light shining from the hole above. "Beth! John! Both of you get back up and attach a cot or something for the girl. GO!" Manny ordered while he took a deep breath, realizing that he almost died if it wasn't for Beth's incredible decision to move out of the dark area. When he looked back, the entryway was already collapsed, seemingly by force from something. He looked up to notice a wreaking ball being lifted from the ground. "Didn't we agree to not use any wreaking ball?" He whispered while waiting for either Beth or Johnny to let down something for the girl to lie on.

"HEAVE HO DUMBASS!!" Johnny shouted from above as a familiar orange stretcher was let down with rope attached to it. He didn't wait for it to touch the ground as he let the girl on the stretcher and secured her using buckles with straps that is on the stretcher. He then tugged the rope before shouting, "UP SHE GOES! BE CAREFUL!". Manny anticipated the time when he would finally be out of the humungous manhole, but as far as he knows, the injured have to be the ones to be brought up first. 

He then tied the harness around his waist as soon as it fell from above. He suddenly felt something hard and hit him at the back of his head before he fell and lost conciousness. The last felt was being tugged up before he fully closed his eyes.
