Chapter Fifty Eight
Primadonna

IT WAS THE night of the drive in movie and Sydney and Miguel sat with their friends in the back of Charlie's truck.  Sydney's back was leaned against Miguel's chest and his arm was wrapped around her shoulder,  their hands locked together.  "This movie is so stupid.  We literally could have stayed home and watched something else,"  Sydney groaned.

"Syd,  you wanted to watch The Greatest Showman,"  Miguel pointed out.

She turned her head slightly to look at him and she furrowed her brows.  "And what about it?"

"We've watched it three times this week!"

"I love that movie."  Demetri chirped.

"Thank you,  Demetri,"  Sydney emphasized narrowed her eyes at her boyfriend.

Miguel only grinned.

"I'm gonna go get some popcorn.  Do you want anything?"  She asked.

Miguel dug a five dollar bill out of his pocket.  "Here,  will you get some nachos too?"

She nodded and pecked his lips before climbing out of the truck.  Ahe straightened her jacket and walked through the cars to the food station.  She smiled at everyone who called out her name and waved at them.  When she got closer to the food carts,  she saw a boy carrying a boat load of food and drinks in his hands.

She quickly walked up to him.  "Hey,  do you need some help?"

The boy looked at her, startled, and tried to not drop all the food. "Oh no, I'm okay. I just have to walk slow,"

She frowned slightly. "Are you sure? It's not a problem,"

"Yeah, it's—" he started to say then his eyes traveled to behind her and his face fell. "Not these guys again."

Before Sydney could say anything, the boy walked backwards and bumped into Eli causing the food spill all over the ground. Sydney gasped.

"Damn, that sucks," Eli laughed.

"I'm sorry!" the boy apologized.

"You should watch where you're going, kid," Eli said and Nathan and Bert joined them.

"Eli, don't." Sydney warned.

"Yeah, same goes for you."

Sydney turned around and saw Robby walking up to them with his hands on the pockets of his jacket. Instantly, Sydney felt the need to punch him in the face. She squeezed her hands together.

The boy quickly went and stood behind Robby.

"Look who it is," Eli taunted.

"You betrayed Miyagi-Do. Traitor," Nathan spat.

"Oh, there's a traitor here for sure," Tory announced herself and she and a bunch of Cobra Kai's joined them. "And he's gonna get what he deserves,"

Sydney took a step forward, glaring. She looked between Tory and Robby. "Not if you don't get it first."

"I don't think so," Sam said and stood beside her. "Not if I don't have anything to say about it, princess."

Miguel and Charlie made themselves present.  Tory's face fell at the sight of him.  Charlie looked both disappointed and angry when he looked at her.

Miguel stood on the other side of Sydney and grabbed her hand. The two dojos glared fiercely at each other. Sydney felt herself begin to shake as she met Robby's eye. His hands were stuffed in his pockets and his shoulders were slumped, like he had no care in the world. It made Sydney angry.

Out of all people who's deserved to feel the pain they were put through,  it was Robby.

"Hey guys,  can you believe that they have Mr.  Pibb and Dr.  Pepper?"  Demetri said excitedly when he walked over to them.  He looked between the dividing dojos and his excitement deflated.  "Oh shit.  Not another rumble,"

"Ccareful,  Larusso.  Your mommy isn't here to play peacemaker,"  Tory threatened.

"What's that supposed to mean?"  Sam questioned.

"Might want to choose your words carefully,  Tory.  Unless you want to go through this again,"  Sydney threatened.

"Guys,  stop.  Okay,  we can't do this,"  Miguel butted in.  He glared at the Cobra Kai's.  "We'll beat 'em on the mat,"

"Oh really?"  Robby laughed.  "You do remember what happened last time we fought,  right?"

Sydney glared at him harshly.  "Watch it,  Keene."

Hearing the statement,  Miguel glared at him.  "Okay,  meet us at the baseball diamond in 30 minutes,"

"And no weapons."  Charlie finished,  looking directly at Tory.

"We won't need them."  She said back.

They started to walk away and Sydney looped her arm through Miguel's,  leaning into him.  "What's your plan."

"You'll see."  he answered.

Sydney sat in the backseat of Charlie's truck with Sam and Demetri. Miguel and Eli were sat up front with Charlie. They were sitting on top of a hill that overlooked the baseball diamond. Sydney was still unaware of Miguel's plan.

"Think this'll end badly?" She whispered to Sam.

"Anything we do ends badly," Sam responded.

Sydney nodded in agreement.

The Cobra Kai's walked into the baseball diamond and Sydney leaned up slightly to see better. After a minute, the lights went shut off and the sprinklers turned on, making Sydney gasp.

"Dude, genius move! We didn't even have to throw a punch!" Eli praised and the three boys high fived.

"My favorite kind of victory." Demetri agreed.

"Let's go before it gets ugly," Sydney announced.

"Good idea." Charlie nodded and started up the truck.

The next day at practice,  they told the other members of Miyagi-Do what happened at the baseball field.  "Henceforth,  Miguel Diaz shall be known as the Rinmaker!"  Demetri announced.

"El diablo de la lluvia!"  Eli cheered.

Charlie laughed patted a grinning Miguel on the back.

"Le faiseur de pluie."  sydney smirked.

Miguel mentally fainted.  "Ooh,  I like one better,"  he commented and wrapped his arms around her.

"Yeah,  but if they hadn't fallen for it,  we still would've beaten them,"  Sam chimed.

"Who cares,  honestly.  I was just happy seeing how angry they were,"  Sydney shrugged.  "It warmed my heart."

"There's still so many ways it could've gone bad,"  said Miguel.

"What could've gone bad?"  Johnny asked when he walked into the back yard.

"We were about to get into a gnarly fight at the drive in,  sensei,"  Eli said happily.  "But Miguel saved the day."

"Oh yeah?  How'd you do that?"

Miguel smirked.  "Told the Cobra Kai's to come to the baseball diamond.  Just in the for the grass to get watered,"

As the students cheered,  Johnny blinked.  "So you picked a fight,  you didn't show up,  and then you doused them with a hose?"

Sydney's face fell.

"Oh,  it was sprinklers,"  Demetri corrected.

sydney made a swiping motion with her hand for him to shut up.

He backed off.  "I'll go back to saying nothing."

Johnny looked back at Miguel.  "You just poked the bear.  What do you thinks gonna happen?  You think they're just gonna leave well enough alone?"

"From everything that I heard,  it sounds to me like miguel practiced restraint,"  Daniel joined the conversation.  "Found a way to get out of a bad situation without anyone getting hurt.  What did you want him to do,  get into a drive in switchblade fight?"

Charlie laughed to himself.  "I've seen that movie."

"I'm proud of you,  Miguel.  You've taken Miyagi-Do teachings to heart."

Daniel patted Miguel on the back and Sydney looked at Johnny,  seeing his expression darken.

"Okay,  Larusso,  we need to have a little talk."

The two sensei's got close and Daniel looked over Johnny's shoulder,  seeing someone walk into the backyard.  His face visibly fell.  "What the—"

Sydney looked over to see Kreese walk into the backyard with a man.  He was a tall,  older man with silver gray hair pulled back into a ponytail.  He was wearing an all black suit and shoes.  "Gentlemen,"  he spoke.  "It seems we have a few things to discuss."

"Sydney,  get everyone into the dojo,"  Daniel said to her,  seeing as how she was the closest.

She gave him a weird look.  "But why—"

He gave her a stern look and she stopped talking.  "In the dojo,  now!  Let's go!"  she shouted at everyone,  waving her arms.

Being the teenagers they were,  they students opened the dojo doors and peered their heads outside to watch the conversation take its place.  "Who is that guy,  Sam?"  Sydney voiced.

Sam shook her head.  "I have no idea."

"He looks like a Highlander,"  said Bert.

"The Highlander.  There can be only one,"  Nathan corrected.

Sydney looked at them weirdly before going back to the adults.  She watched carefully as the unknown man spoke to Daniel and how Daniel's face was stone cold with anger.  "I don't think I've ever seen your dad look so mad Sammy,  and we stole his car that one time,"

Miguel,  who was standing over her,  looked down at her in shock.  "You stole Mr.  Larusso's car?"

"Late night concert."  Sam clarified.

Sydney nodded.  "The Weeknd.  It was so worth it."

"Cool."  Eli said in amazement.

"Maybe this'll take their mind off of us soaking the Cobra Kai's."  Charlie hoped.

"Nope,  I think this is just gonna add on to it."  Sydney muttered.

Okay but like I agreed with Johnny this episode because what did they think was gonna happen?😭
Did they think Robby and Tory were just gonna shake their hands afterwards?  Like Daniel was so proud of them I was embarrassed.
