Amira shot up in her bed, sweat clingy to her hair. She looked around. There was no hole or wooden beams. She held out her hands. There was no blood and her armor was beside her bed. Her sword was in her sheath right beside her bed. Everything was as normal as her life would ever get.

Amira swung her legs over the frame of her bed and walked to her window. She watched as the curtains billowed in the wind. They were a pearl white. They had faint floral designs. Maisie had sewed them for her. The dream had terrified Amira. Was it going to come true? Maisie said dreams are sometimes messages. Was this one? Amira shuddered. The door creaked open.

"Amira I heard you screaming. Are you okay?" Maisie stepped inside Amira's small room. "Y-yes" she stuttered, still a little shaken. She took a shaky step towards her caretaker and hugged her. Maisie looked down at her in surprise. "Where did all of this come from?" Maisie asked. Amira shook her head. "Just a... just a disturbing dream" she muttered. Maisie took a step back, ending the heart-warming moment.

She began coughing violently. Maisie's mouth began foaming. Amira looked up in alarm. A horrendous stench filled the room. "You're dying, aren't you?" Amira asked, fitting all the pieces together. That dream was too real. It was real. The truth hit Amira like a thousand bullets.

Maisie slowly nodded. "I'm the last body" she hacked, "I'm going to die, but I wanted to do it next to you". She grabbed Amira's desk and eased herself into a chair. "No" Amira whispered, " This is one your test".

Maisie's head snapped up. "Child, does this look like an illusion right now? No, I am going to die in a few minutes". Amira shook her head. "Amira, listen. I've decided to tell you one of my greatest sins. It was I who killed your parents. You are a rare descendant of Irene. When I die, run. Run and never come back".

Amira started crying. "No, no! Your lying! You didn't kill my parents and your not dying! I'm going to wake up right now!". Tears race down her cheeks. Maisie smiled and began closing her eyes "Goodbye Amira" she whispered and the spark in her soul faded to nothing.
