Hisui's POV

"Knock, knock, knock" I heard at my door as I groaned, signalling for whoever was out there to come in. "Princess Hisui? Today is the Grand Ball. You will be choosing a husband, if not, King Alex will choose for you." My maid, Frankie said with a smile.

Frankie had baby pink scales and hot pink, straight hair. She always wore a beautiful radiant smile, that could stop a war. I swam up to her and engulfed her in a hug, before she could close the door. I could feel her face stretch into an even bigger smile as she awkwardly hugged back.

"Frankie? Do you think Father might, I don't know.... consider letting me go to school? And let me get married when I'm 18?!" I asked nervousitedly (nervous and excited). "I can surely ask for you my lady, if that is what you wish?" Frankie bowed to me. "Thank you so much Frankie! You truely are the best maid ever!" I waved as she swam away.

Kobe's POV

"Bye dad, I'm off to school!" I shouted as I exited my small apartment. On my way to school, I was thinking about the mermaid of my dreams. She would be like a princess. Her scales like the sparkling ocean we live in, sea blue hair with streaks of minty green. She would bubbly and kind, courageous, funny, smart and most important, she'd love me.

About five minutes away from school, I bumped into my friend, Logan. "Hey Logan!" I greeted as we both began to swim as fast we could to school, only having three minutes until classes. "Hey man! Found her yet?" Logan asked me with a sincere yet smug grin. "Nah, but I heard that we might be getting a new girl at school!" I complained, but slightly perked up at the end.

Logan patted my back as we slowed down, therefore swimming at normal pace the rest of the way.
