Belfast was making her way to the commander's office, she was carrying a tray with a tea set on top of it. She knocked on the door to the commander's office

"Come in"

With his permission, Belfast opened the door and walked inside the room

"Master, I've brou- ?!"

When Belfast looked at the commander she ended up making a shocked face of someone who had just seen a horror scene, to the point that made the perfect head maid of the Royal Navy make such a horrified expression and lose her cool

What could have happened to the commander to make the unshakable Belfast become so shaken?

*Slam*

The door to the Royal Navy throne room was abruptly opened

"Huh? Belfast? What happened?"

"Your majesty! The commander!... The commander is!..."

"W-W-What happened to the commander?!"

"The commander is!... Doing his job properly!!!"

Belfast said that as if it was some horrible news

"... *Intense gasp* He's what!?"

But Queen Elizabeth made the face of someone who just heard the worst news of their entire life

"W-What do we do, your majesty?!"

"G-Get a grip of yourself, Belfast! W-We need to do something before anyone else sees him like that!"

But then as the two were panicking

"KYAAAAAAAAAA!!!"

They could hear multiple screams coming from outside of the throne room, and then just like before the door was opened with a slam, but this time it was Warspite

"Y-Your majesty! T-The commander! The commander is eating normal food in the cafeteria like a normal human being!"

" "..." "

Belfast and Lizzy both made shocked faces as they both fell to their knees, as they were unable to comprehend what happened to the commander for him to be acting... Like a perfectly normal person

A few days later

"Sortie~ Sortie~ Bloodbath on the ocean~"

Room was happily making her way to the dockyards to prepare for her sortie

<Ehehe! I can't wait to see the destruction and suffering that the commander will do to the sirens>

Eventually, she arrived at the dockyards, and there she saw the commander talking with the shipgirls that would be participating in the same fleet as her

"Commander~ I have arrived as requested!"

"Ah! Roon, good timing. For this sortie, you'll be participating with these girls"

The commander presented Roon with her fleet partners for today. Vanguard, Monarch, Washington, Icarus and La Galissonnière

"And Vanguard will be the flagship, so make sure to hear her commands"

"Alright, commander~... Hm? Wait, are you not coming to the sortie like usual, commander?"

"As much as I would like to, doing that is incredibly risky for me, so I'll have to stay at the port. And I also have to take care of other bureaucratic matters"

"Eh?"

Room's eyes turned into dots from the surprise she got at hearing the commander's argument

"Good luck to you all"

"Huh? Eh! C-Commander, wait!..."

But the Commander had already walked away, leaving Roon there completely confused. Then she felt four people putting a hand on either of her shoulders, with someone patting her back

It was everyone who would be coming with her for the sortie, as they all made faces of compassion to Roon's feelings

"We all understand how you're feeling about the commander's recent behavior"

"Is that so?"

"Yes, so let's just go on that sortie to forget about it"

With a sense of unity, the six kansens checked if they had everything that they might need for the sortie and set sail

During their trip to their objective, Vanguard's fleet passed by Enterprise's fleet that was coming back from another mission

The two fleets waved at each other as they passed by

"Now we make a 30° turn east, and continue press forward, after about 200kms we'll arrive at the mirror sea"

"Vanguard, can I ask you a question"

"Sure, what is it, Monarch?"

"Mirror seas are known to be hard to detect and notice, correct?"

"Yes"

"So how does the commander knows where this mirror sea is located at?"

"Yeah, I have been curious about that as well"

Washington joined in the conversation as well

"... I have no idea how he knows it"

"Maybe he wrote something in the instructions"

"That's true"

Vanguard then looked at the instruction manual that the commander had given her, and to her surprise, there was a part talking about how he knew where the mirror sea was located at and the answer was...

"... Don't think too much about how I know where it is located at"

"..."

"..."

"... *Closes the manual* Did any of you two ever watch that new anime that it's airing right now?"

Vanguard decided to follow the instructions and not think about how the commander knew where the mirror sea was located at

As for the vanguard side...

"So?... What do we do if we find an enemy fleet, Roon? La Galissonnière?"

"If we find one, I'll just charge head-on and kill every single one of them, with all my firepower"

"I'll make sure to annihilate any opponent who dares to go against me"

"Full firepower, annihilate. How cool!"

The two cruisers smiled at Icarus as they patted her head

"We'll be looking forward to your growth"

"Yup, Yup"

Eventually, as they kept sailing forward, they began to notice that the weather was becoming strange, they had entered a mirror sea, and soon after a fleet of humanoid and mass-produced sirens

"Well, he was right about the mirror sea, let's see if the commander left any other instruction for us to follow... After you enter the mirror sea, destroy all of the sirens inside. I believe that you girls can totally do it..."

"..." (5x)

"Ahem... My friends... CHARGE!!!"

And with Vanguard's war cry, they all charged right toward the siren fleet

30 minutes later

" "AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" "

Roon and La Galissonnière were both butchering a humanoid siren as they laughed like maniacal murderers

"Royal Saber Flash!"

As for Vanguard, she had just defeated a siren after doing overly fancy and exaggerated swordplay just like an anime sword move

"Huhuhu!" <This was exactly like in that anime!>

As for Monarch and Washington...

*BOOM BOOM BOOM*

They had their backs to each other as they fired at every mass-produced and humanoid siren that came toward them

"You're pretty good at this, Monarch!"

"I can say the same to you, Washington!"

And at last as for Icarus

"Torpedo mode! Full powah!"

She was doing her best at causing the most damage to the sirens that she could

Their sortie ended without a hitch, and the six felt like they wouldn't mind going on more sorties together in the future

Enterprise was standing in front of the commander's office to give her report of her last mission

*Knocks the door* "Commander, I came to give you my report on my last mission"

"Please, come in"

Then Enterprise opened the door and walked inside the room, in there she saw the commander standing near the window. And his eyes weren't blurred or painted black like always

"..."

Enterprise stayed silent, and then she began falling to the floor on her back from passing out after seeing the commander's face without having it weirdly blurred for some reason

"Why are they all passing out like that?

Many days later, December 1st

Belfast was standing in front of the commander's office as she carried a tray with a tea set, then she knocked on the door... but no answer came

"I'm coming in, master"

Belfast opened the door and in there she saw the commander sprawled on his desk with paper scattered everywhere

"Master, I brought you some tea"

"..."

"..."

"Why... Is... There... So... Much paperwork?!"

The commander lifted the desk and threw it on the wall, making a hole that led to the outside world, as the sound of someone screaming could be heard

"It's good to have you back, commander"

"Yeah, it's good that I don't have to do the NNN challenge"
