These few days, Ethan felt some very new emotions, on new high intensities as well. The feeling of crush, the teenage feeling of wanting to bump into your crush, but this new emotion definitely takes the crown of intense emotions Ethan felt in these few days, the feeling of sadness and dejection.

He peddled his bicycle slowly, feeling the air run along his dark locks, messing them up. But at this point, he doesn't care, he just continues the movement of his legs, gliding along the road on his bike.

"What happened to you?" Alice asked as they locked their bicycles in front of their house.

"Nothing, why?" Ethan replied.

"Your shirt is not tucked with perfection, your hair is messed up, and of course, you are wearing the expression like a kicked puppy," Alice answered, pointing at Ethan's appearance.

"I just had a long day," replied Ethan, entering the house.

"Are my babies home?" Mrs. Wilson asked, keeping the plates on the table.

"Go and change, be quick or the food will get cold," she ordered sweetly.

"Yes, Mom." the kids replied before going to their rooms, and even if Ethan laid down on his bed for a while drowning in mystery, nobody had to know.

"So how was school?" his mother asked.

"It was good, I got my PE results back, turns out I can jump the highest in our school. My teacher says that if I learn some game like basketball or something, I can even apply for a sports scholarship." Alice answered proudly.

"That's great dear, you should start as soon as possible." Mrs. Wilson said, encouragingly.

"Yeah, maybe I will."

"And what about you Ethan?" His mother asked.

"Nothing special, just the usual." Ethan replied, tossing his vegetables carelessly with his spoon.

"My sweet child, why do you look so sad?"

"Nothing, just a long day."

"Would you still go for the tutoring, why don't you stay today?" his mother asked, placing a hand gently on his. Ethan thought about his bed, how he could sleep the sadness off, and his homework, which he could do if he stayed today.

Just then, the door opened and Alice's father and Ethan's step-father walked in. The softness of his bed and the piles of his homework vanished from his brain by just looking at his stepfather's face.

"It's fine, I'll go. It's no big deal." Ethan replied, pulling his hand away from his mother's. The pull to please his stepdad was after all bigger than his sadness for a random guy he saw days ago.

Maybe they are not meant to meet, maybe God just gave Ethan a small glimpse of him to play with Ethan's feelings. Maybe, Joshua wasn't even real, he could be just a fragment of Ethan's imagination, maybe Ethan was just lonely, imagining a handsome guy to keep his loneliness at bay.

He collected his books and biked away, his clothes a little untucked, his hair a little messy and his heart a little painful, but he drove off. This was his life, he would study literature, so his stepdad would love him, he would go to college so his mom wouldn't be disappointed in him, and maybe someday he would marry some nice girl and live a life of fake happiness.

Such is life, at least his life.

Ethan sat on his designated seat, where they always sit in the cafe. the cafe is owned by his tutor's brother, making it a free place for them to sit and study, they sometimes buy drinks too, if they like.

But today was a little strange, the other two students and the teacher were not here yet. Ethan waited and waited, he didn't remember their telephone number, he was sure he had written them somewhere. As he turned his books over, hoping to find the numbers so he could call them from the cafe's phone, as he still didn't have his own, a tap on his shoulder interrupted him.

He turned around, hoping to greet his teacher, but the person standing in front of him, nearly made him fall off his chair.

Ethan stood up fast to look at the person who was a little taller than him, with honey-tanned skin, little creased clothes, and thick black-rimmed glasses. He looked a little different from when Ethan saw him in gym clothes, but this version looked just as beautiful. The person in front of him smiled, making his dimples visible.

'Wow, how can a person be this hot?' was Ethan's only thought as he goggled the other guy.

"Hello, I am Joshua, Joshua Cruz." the person introduced himself, stretching his hand for a handshake.

Was his name always this bold and authoritative, or it's just the way he said it, thought Ethan as he extended his own hand for the handshake.

Maybe it was just Ethan but as their hands touched, a surge of electricity ran down Ethan's hand, making him shiver a little.

"I am Ethan, Ethan Davis."

This was it, their first meeting, the first of the many meetings that were to come. The meeting that was inevitable, because their fates were tied together the day their eyes met, they don't know that yet, but very soon they will, fate has its own ways of uniting two people, the two people who are meant to be together.
