*knock knock*

"Ethan, come downstairs at once, I am not going to deal with all the mess myself."

It was a faint noise of complaint, coming from outside the door, Ethan did not want to wake up. Does he really have to listen to that voice, he wants to listen to another voice, not this one.

"You look lovely."   said a deep voice in the back of his head. If the voice wasn't his, then whose was it?

"I want to stay here." said the voice again, and if the voice said the sentence with that sad tone, then who was Ethan to deny anything?

"I was in love with a guy."

Now that voice woke up Ethan pretty quickly. Suddenly Ethan remembered where he was and who he was with last night. He got up hurriedly and looked around, to see he was alone.

The door was still locked, was Ethan hallucinating Joshua in his room? were all those things even said by Joshua?

He walked to his bed, looking for evidence of his sanity, and sure enough he found one, Joshua's jacket, he was sure Joshua had worn it last night. Then where did that guy vanish to? He looked around and saw his window open, which he never leaves open because of safety concerns.

Ethan left his room, only to be greeted by the messiest living room he had ever seen.

"Why are you standing there, you gonna help me or what?" asked Alice, who looked like she was run over by a truck. Her hair was a mess, she was pale as a ghost and there were big dark circles under her eyes.

"What happened to you?" Ethan asked.

"I drank too much, played a drinking game, and won by the way," Alice said, picking up empty cups and cans.

"You are safe, right? I mean nothing happened to you, right?" Ethan asked, guilty of not paying attention to his sister at a party filled with teenagers.

"I am very capable of defending myself, don't worry. Nothing happened to you too, right? You look tense."

"No, nothing, I'll have something to check, though." Ethan said, walking up to the front door.

"Ethan, do you think God has favorites?" Alice asked suddenly, stopping Ethan.

"Why suddenly?" Ethan asked, confused.

"Just tell me." She complained, whining.

"I don't think so." Ethan said, unsure.

"Then why the fuck do you look like you came from a spa treatment while I look like an old bad witch," she shouted, throwing away cups, and laying on the couch.

Ethan just awkwardly laughed and went out the door, he does have a God gift to always look perfect, which always annoyed Alice especially when she gets pimples.

Ethan shook those thoughts away as he looked in his driveway, and sure enough, there was a car. Ethan walked closer to see Joshua Cruz still asleep in the car. So he knocked, waking him up.

Joshua looked embarrassed but lowered his window. His car had clothes, a pillow, a toothbrush, and everything kept in various piles, looking like he did live there.

"Can you help me clean the house?" Left Ethan's mouth. He didn't want to comment on his situation but he also had many questions, so inviting him in was the only solution for now.

Joshua looked taken aback by the question but nodded.

They walked back into the house where Alice was still cleaning up.

"Alice, I bought a helping hand." Ethan announced.

"Joshua? Since when do you know each other?" Alice asked, confused.

"David introduced us," answered Ethan simply.

"You never told me, Joshua, as a teacher, you should have." Alice teased him.

"Teacher?" Ethan asked.

"Yeah, he agreed to teach me basketball."  Ethan felt a little pang in his chest, an unpleasant feeling, that he should not feel, right?

They silently cleaned the living room, Alice and Joshua too hungover to talk and Ethan too deep in his feelings to initiate any. They cleared all the trash, thanking their past selves to remove the carpet beforehand.

"Imma go and take a bath, I stink. I wish God gave me 'Ethan powers' sometimes." Alice whined.

"Ethan powers?" Joshua inquired.

"Yeah, this guy doesn't even stink, he rarely feels hangovers and doesn't even have the decency to look puffy after waking up, heck he doesn't even get pimples." Alice whined, glaring at Ethan.

"Not my fault, is it? Just go take a bath, you'll feel good." Ethan said, shooing her away.

"You should take a bath too." Ethan said to Joshua. "Unfortunately, I don't have a connected bathroom in my room, we can take turns for washing up."

"Thank you, but although you look like you don't need a shower, you should take one first, it's your house after all." Joshua said, smiling tiredly.

"And you are my guest, so you should go first. I am an excellent host, you know?"

Joshua ended up going first, coming back in Ethan's clothes, which Ethan insisted on giving him. By the time Ethan returned, Alice had already started on breakfast, or lunch since they woke up so late.

"When did the party even end?" Ethan asked, cracking an egg in the pan.

"I locked my door at 4, I don't know after that." Alice answered, getting the bread into the toaster.

"I might have gone in my room at 3 or something." Ethan said, trying to remember.

"Yeah, I saw you and Joshua go in, but how come Joshua came from outside then?" Alice asked putting the puzzle pieces together.

"He jumped out of the window and went back in his car." Ethan answered, putting the breakfast on the kitchen table, which now had a guilty-looking Joshua sitting on one of the chairs.

"I just woke up, and didn't want to intrude, so I jumped out." he explained, taking a plate.

"How come you were still in the driveway, you didn't go home?" Alice asked, the question made Ethan and Joshua tense up.

"I live in my car, actually. I park it on my part-time jobs, sleep in their parking." Joshua explained, trying to keep his voice casual.

"WHAT? Why?" Alice asked, shocked.

"Such is life, things happen." Joshua said casually.

"Such is not the life, we can't let you sleep in a car, you know how dangerous it is?" Alice said, looking at Ethan to back her up.

"What other choice do I have?"

"You can sleep here, in our house." Alice declared.

"What?"
