At Vaniville Town

She is sleeping peacefully on the soft bed in her room.

Her mom shouts from the kitchen.

"Serena! wake up!"

After 2 minutes

"That girl..." Her mom whispered.

"Fletchling, can you wake her up," Grace ordered the little bird.

Fletching flies into Serena's room.

"Fletching!!" The little bird pecked Serena's face

Serena POV

I am sleeping peacefully in my bed.

Suddenly, someone attacks my face.

"Aaaaah!!" I screamed.

"I have told you not to wake me up like that!!" I narrowed my eyes.

Fletching flew away and sat on the coffee table.

I jumped forward to grab her, but she flew away.

"Aaaa! Not again." I groaned and sat on my bed.

I am Serena Yvonne. I am a 15-year-old girl, just living a normal life. The sun was shining brightly through the window beside my bed. My bed is so comfy, I could stay here all day. Unfortunately, my mom has a stupid Fletching to wake me up every morning.

"Eevee!"

"Good morning, Eevee."

Eevee yawned.

I stretched my arms and dragged myself out of the bed.

I opened the window to my room and the gold rays of the sunrise came into the room. And Fletching flaps its wings and flies away in the sky.

"Hi, Rhyhorn!"

"Grahhh!!"

I have a feeling that something good is gonna happen today.

"Serena! Hurry up!" My mom shouts from downstairs.

"Yeah!" I shouted back.

I then go to the bathroom to get ready and I quickly get changed into my outfit.

"Eevee, let's go."

"Eevee!"

(XYZ clothes )

I rush downstairs for breakfast.

"Good morning," I say as I take my seat at the table for breakfast.

"Good morning, Serena." My mom smiles as she puts my breakfast on the table.

I started eating my breakfast and my mom sat on the chair.

"Wow, mom pancakes look great."

After a few minutes, I silently eat my breakfast until I look at the clock.

"What? It is 10 am already." I shouted.

"Mom, I have to go now."

"Where?"

"Shauna, Calem, and everyone is gonna meet up at Aquacorde Cafe. Also, Professor Sycamore invited all of us to the lab."

I replied as I stood up.

"Ok," Mom nodded.

I quickly finished my breakfast and went to my room to grab my backpack and Pokeballs.

I grabbed my Pokeball, and as I did, I looked over the wall that had shelves lined with my accomplishments.

First are trophies from Rhyhorn Racing.
Second is the Pokemon performance princess keys and 1st place trophy from the showcase when I won the masterclass. I didn't become the Kalos Queen but I got close. I am a little upset that I didn't win.

But I remember the quote, don't give up till the end from a very special person in my life.

I smile as I stare at them for a moment while remembering how hard I tried to collect those.

It had been Shauna who had informed me of the Kalos Queen showcases, and the quest aspiring Pokemon performers went on to collect Princess Keys, and participate in a Masterclass showcase, where they had the opportunity to perform against the reigning Kalos Queen, Aria.

It had been a dream that Shauna had herself, and had inspired me to chase as well. I am thankful for her.

Mom wants me to be a Rhyhorn racer just like her. When I found my dream I told mom and I was glad she supported me.

I had done so well, managed to make it to the Masterclass showcase, and competed, where I managed to take the win. But falling in the title match to Aria.

After that, I decided to attend the Kalos Academy as per Palermo's recommendation.

Flashback

"Do you remember that woman, Palermo, from your Masterclass showcase?" Grace said."Well, she just called."

"She's coming?" Serena asked, eyes widening while her heart started to pound. "Why are you letting her come here? Do you want me to be Kalos Queen or not?"

"She sort of invited herself," Grace said.

"I don't think it is a good time?" Serena argued, feeling a little bit of panic build up within her.

"Don't worry, she just wants to talk to you about something," Grace assured her.

"Maybe, you are right," Serena said.

"She will come here any minute. She said she was fairly close to arriving." Grace said.

"What! Why didn't you tell me before." Serena yelled.

At that moment, the doorbell rang.

Grace walked towards the front door and opened it. Palermo enters the house.

Serena takes a deep breath as she hears footsteps coming towards the kitchen. As they entered the kitchen, Serena immediately noticed the familiar scowl on Palermo's face.

"Good morning Serena." Palermo greeted with no emotion on her face.

She looks around the kitchen for a second and sits down looking at Serena.

"Uh, good morning, nice to see you," Serena said nervously.

"Well, I was close by. I'm on my way to Lumiose City today. I have some business to discuss with Professor Sycamore," Palermo explained.

"That's why I wanted to talk to you. Looks like this visit is worth combining."

"Why is that?" Serena questioned.

"Do you know the school Kalos Academy?" Palermo asked.

"Yeah, it is the most famous school in the Kalos Region," Serena said.

"Well, Professor Sycamore said that the school this year is starting to teach students more about Pokemon contests and performance along with Pokemon battles," Palermo explained. "When I first saw your performance. I noticed that you are a talented performer. I am sure that one day you will be able to beat Aria."

"Really!" Serena's eyes widened in surprise.

"Yes, that's why I wanted to talk to you. Do you still want to follow your dream to become a Kalos Queen?"

"Of course,"

"That's what I thought, if you want to learn more about Pokemon and performances you need to attend Kalos Academy."

"Yeah, I will attend the school to learn more about Pokemon performances and continue my dream of becoming the Kalos Queen," Serena said.

"Alright! then I will be watching how far you can go to achieve your dream," Palermo said.

"Thanks, Ms. Palermo," Serena said.

Palermo just nodded her head and started to walk away.

"Just wait, I am going to work hard and I will be the next Kalos Queen."

My train of thoughts stopped by Eevee and I instantly turned to look at the clock. I quickly grabbed my Pokeball and bag because I didn't want to be late for our meeting.

"Bye, Mom! See you later." I said as I reached downstairs.

"Stay safe. Bye!" I heard My mom shouts as I walk out of the door.

I finally reached Aquacorde Town.

Calem had texted me that they are going to wait for me at our usual hangout at the cafe. So, I walked into the Aquacorde cafe and saw my friends sitting at the tables.

Calem turned and noticed me with a smile. "Serena, good morning,"

"Good morning," I smiled brightly as I ran up to them.

"Hey, Serena! Good morning." Shauna said casually.

"Hi, Serena!" Tierno said.

"Good morning." Trevor smiled.

I took a seat beside Shauna, then we ordered coffee.

It's been a month since the whole group met together after summer vacation. It was Shauna's idea to have a group conversation before school starts.

Shauna starts the conversation, "So, school starts in 2 days."

"I can't believe summer break is over."
Tierno complained.

"I heard from Professor Sycamore that 2 new students will be attending school this year," Trevor said.

"Really? I hope one of them is gonna be a girl." Tierno says as his eyes sparkle with stars.

Shauna shakes her head, "I don't know. But they are from the Kanto region."

"Kanto region..."

"You were living in Kanto before moving here to Kalos, right?" Trevor asked.

"Yes"

"Any idea why Professor Sycamore wants us to meet at the lab?" Shauna asked.

"No, but I heard Professor Sycamore was talking about mega-evolution research," Calem replied.

"Mega evolution research?" I thought.

"Alright, we should get going, Professor Sycamore must be waiting for us," Trevor said to everyone.

Everyone agreed and my Eevee quickly jumped into my arms.

"Let's go!" Calem said to me and I nodded.

We begin to walk towards Lumiose City, our next destination.

Third Person POV

Serena and her friends finally arrived at Professor Sycamore's lab.

Professor Sycamore welcomed everyone as they entered the lab.

"The reason why I called all of you today is to give you the Key Stone," Professor said.

"What? Keystone!" Tierno asked.

Professor gives one of the keystones to each of them...

"That's great!" Shauna exclaimed happily.

"That's good news! Professor, I always wanted to take photos of Mega Evolve pokemon." Trevor said with a star in his eyes.

"This will help us to learn more about Mega Evolution," Calem said.

"But first, we need to find the Mega Stone for our Pokemon," Serena said.

"You are right about that," Trevor said in disappointment.

"Cheered up, Trevor," Tierno said.

"But I do have Tyranitarite," Calem announced with a small smile. "And I can't wait to Mega Evolve my Tyranitar,"

"Calem, if you mega evolve your Tyranitar please tell me so that I can take a photo of it."

"You got it, Trevor."

"Uh, I almost forgot..." Professor Sycamore muttered as everyone turned to Professor Sycamore.

"Serena I want to give this Altarianite to you, one of my assistants found this mega stone during research," Professor said and he handed the Altarianite to Serena which she happily accepted.

"Thanks, Professor!" Serena said excitedly as she looked at the Altarianite in her hand. "I will make sure to Mega Evolve my Altaria,".

"That's not fair, only Serena got Mega Stone for her Pokemon," Tierno huffed and everyone laughed at him.

"Alright! but don't be in a hurry to Mega Evolve your Pokemon," Professor warned.

"But why?" Calem questioned.

"If a pokemon is not strong enough or doesn't have a strong enough bond with their trainer the Pokemon loses control and that's why we need to be careful." Professor Sycamore said.

"Promise Professor we will be careful, right Calem," Serena said and looked towards Calem.

"Yeah right," Calem replied.

"So you all remember right that school is starting in 2 days. This year we will be having a new teacher for the battle class who is..." Professor Sycamore was interrupted by the sound of the door opening.

Everyone turned and noticed a girl standing at the doorway.

"You were the trainer who chose Froakie this morning, right?" Professor Sycamore asked as he recognized the girl.

"Professor! Professor! You need to help me." Girl yelled.

"Alright, calm down and explain," Professor said soothingly.

"Right! The Froakie I chose this morning..." The girl stopped for a moment before continuing. "In the middle of the training, Froakie ran away."

"Not again! It's not the first time Froakie runs away from their new trainer and afterward returns to the lab." Professor rubbing an eyebrow.

"But why does Froakie always do that?" Serena blinked.

"The reason I don't know myself." Professor Sycamore said.

"Now! what?" The girl said, lowering her head.

"Hey, kid you don't need to worry! You can choose from Fennekin and Chespin." Professor Sycamore offered.

"Then... I chose Chespin." The girl sparkled her eyes.

Professor Sycamore gives Chespin's Pokeball to the girl which she happily accepts.

"Thanks, Professor! Chespin, come on out!" The girl said as Chespin came out of the Pokeball.

"Chespin!"

"Yeah, that's a great choice. Chespin is a really good Pokemon." Calem said to the girl.

"Uh, thanks," The girl said with a small smile.

"Take good care of it."

"Of course! Professor, we are gonna train hard, right Chespin?" The girl said as she hugged Chespin.

"Thanks, Professor Sycamore, and here is Froakie's Pokeball," The girl said and ran outside.

After saying goodbye to Professor Sycamore, the group made their way back home.

"I can't wait to find Mega stone for my Charizard," Trevor said as the group started to walk outside of the Professor's Sycamore lab.

"Hey, guys wait up! where is Eevee?" Serena looked towards the lab and saw Eevee running toward her.

"Eeev Eeeve," Eevee said happily and jumped into Serena's arms.

"Why don't you call Eevee into the Pokeball," Calem questioned Serena and they started to walk.

"My Eevee doesn't like Pokeball. And I don't want to force her." Serena said and stroked Eevee's head.

"Yeah, you are right," Calem smiled.

Time skip

It took the whole day for Ash, Pikachu, and Delia to finally arrive in Kalos Region. The small drive to Vaniville Town and soon enough they finally reach their new home.

"We finally arrived," Delia said.

"I can't wait to meet all the new Pokemon," Ash said.

"And Serena," Ash whispered but Pikachu sitting on his shoulder heard it and his ears perked up.

"Pika?" Pikachu questioned, noticing that his trainer was excited to meet someone who is not Pokemon.

"It's nothing," Ash replied.

Pikachu just gave a suspicious look to Ash.

They get out of the car and enter their new home and start unpacking.

After one hour

They managed to unpack almost all of their stuff and after that they had lunch.

"Ash, why don't you check out your new bedroom," Delia suggested.

"Yeah, sure," Ash said.

Ash and Pikachu rushed upstairs and entered his new bedroom.

Once Ash got to his room, he immediately entered and sat on the bed.

Pikachu jumped off his shoulder and curled up into a ball right next to the pillow and fell asleep.

As he looked around he noticed that the room was of an average size but it was slightly bigger than his room back in Pallet Town.

Ash walked towards the window and looked outside, it was late in the evening as the sun was already set.
