"This is a three-on-three battle between Calem and Ash. If either side's Pokemon are unable to continue then the match is
over and the other trainer wins. Now choose your Pokemon," Referee declared.

"Amphoras! Let's go!" Calem shouted.

"Sceptile! I choose you!" Ash threw the Pokeball towards the battlefield.

Sceptile emerged from his Pokeball and stood in front of Ash while shouting.
"Sceptile!"

"Sceptile, are you ready to battle?"

"Sceptile!!" Sceptile roared as he took a battle stance.

"Wow, so Ash is using Sceptile. It's been so long since I saw Sceptile in action." May said with the biggest smile as Ash released Sceptile.

"Wow, Ash has a Sceptile," Trevor said.

"This is gonna be exciting!" Tierno grinned.

"So, Ashy-boy decided to use his old Pokemon. That's a great choice on his behalf." Gary thought.

Serena POV

I have to ask May later how she knows Ash. She told me that she met Ash in the Hoenn Region. Did Ash travel to the Hoenn Region?

I looked at the battlefield where the battle is about to start.

I wonder who is gonna win this battle. Well, Calem is strong, after all, he is the school champion and no one was able to beat him in this entire school. He also made it to the Kalos League finale but was defeated by a strong trainer.

But May and Drew say that Ash is a strong trainer. I always cheer for Calem whenever he battles but now Calem is against Ash, So I want Ash to win this battle.

"Let the battle begin!" Referee announced.

"Sceptile, use Leaf Blade!!" Ash exclaimed.

The four leaves on Sceptile's wrists glow light green and form into two. Sceptile then dashed towards Amphoras, the green blades grew bigger and sharper as it ran towards its opponent.

"Amphoras, use Thunder Punch!" Calem said Amphoras to counterattack.

Both Sceptile and Amphoras collide, Sceptile slices the opponent while Amphoras manages to get a hit on Sceptile with its right fist sending both of the Pokemon backwards.

"Amphoras, use Thunder!"

Ampharos releases a yellow electrical blast from its body which was heading towards Sceptile at a fast speed.

"Sceptile, don't move! Draw the thunder towards you!" Ash instructed.

Sceptile followed Ash's instruction, it stood its ground till Ash gave a command.

"Sceptile, now use a quick attack to dodge," Ash ordered.

Sceptile waited till the lighting was very close then followed Ash's command, it dashed away from where it stood, and the lightning then crashed to the spot causing the ground to rip up where Sceptile once stood.

At the stand

"Sceptile sure is fast," Trevor said.

"Yes, Sceptile was able to dodge the Thunder attack which was so close to him," Clemont said, as he was impressed by Sceptile.

"What will be the result of this match?" Everyone wondered as they watched the battle.

"Now! Sceptile, use, Frenzy Plant!" Ash said.

"Amphoras protect!" Calem said.

Sceptile sticks its hands in the ground and makes giant roots come out of the ground. The giant roots were about to hit Amphoras, but at the last second, Amphoras created a green barrier around its body, to protect it from the incoming attack.

But Sceptile's Frenzy Plant was able to break through a green barrier though it was less damaged than expected from Ash.

"Sceptile! Agility then use Leaf Blade!'

Sceptile uses Agility to give his speed a boost as he runs towards the opponents with his green blades.

"Ampharos! Dragon Pulse! Stop it in the tracks!" Calem cried out.

"Sceptile, use Leaf Blade to cut through it," Ash ordered.

"What?"

Everyone widened their eyes as they heard Ash's orders.

Serena started fidgeting seeing that Sceptile is running towards the Dragon Pulse attack at a fast speed.

May and Shauna noticed that Serena is nervously looking at the battlefield. It's nothing new for Serena to get nervous during Calem's battle. But somehow it looks different this time.

While using Leaf Blade in the air, it spins its arms around, flies down at great speed, and cuts through the Dragon Pulse. Both blades from Sceptile's leaf blade made contact with its opponent before Amphoras could even dodge its attack.

Amphoras is standing there for a second before falling to the ground.

"Amphoras is unable to battle which means Sceptile wins! Trainer, choose your next Pokemon." Referee announced.

Serena sighed in relief when she saw that Sceptile not only cut through the Dragon Pulse attack but also managed to hit Amphoras and defeat him. The smile appeared on her face which didn't go unnoticed by May.

"Does she want Ash to win this battle? but why? They just met today." May thought.

Serena is happy seeing Ash win the first match and a slight blush appeared on her face when she saw Ash look at her then their eyes met for a split second but Ash broke eye contact and instead looked at the battlefield because Calem released his second Pokemon.

"Absol! Let's go!" Calem said.

"Amazing job Sceptile. Return for now!" Ash said as he took out his Pokeball and returned Sceptile then turned to Pikachu.

"Are you ready to battle buddy?"

"Pika!" Pikachu smirked.

"Alright, Pikachu I choose you!"

"Pika!" Pikachu jumped on the battlefield while sparkling his cheeks.

"Using Agility to make sure you had the edge over speed between the two Pokemon," Clemont said.

Trevor nods, "Using speed is a great way to battle!"

"Well, the sceptile is quite strong," Tierno smiled. "But why did Ash return Sceptile? It was doing great."

"Well... Ash probably recalled it because he wants to use his other Pokemon." Clemont replied.

"So, Ash is using Pikachu as his second Pokemon," Trevor said.

"I really can't wait to see what Pikachu is capable of," Tierno said as he looked curious.

"Well, you are in for a surprise," May said as everyone in the group looked at her. "Believe it or not, Pikachu is one of Ash's strongest Pokemon," May said with a small smile.

"Let's watch the battle," Shauna said as the battle is about to start.

On the other side

"Ash defeated Calem's one Pokemon, now two more to go," Dawn said while smiling.

"Piplup!" Piplup cheered happily.

"Pikachu show them your power!" Dawn shouted.

"Let the battle begin!" Referee said.

"Absol Psycho Cut!" Calem ordered his first move.

Absol releases a purple crescent-like blade of energy from its horn at the opponent.

"Pikachu, use Quick Attack to dodge, then use Iron Tail!" Ash said.

Pikachu disappears and then reappears to avoid the incoming attack.

Pikachu's tail glows white as it ready to hit Absol.

"Quick block it with Mega horn!" Calem shouted.

Absol's horn glows green and grows in size which is collided with Pikachu's Iron Tail cancelling it.

"Quick Pikachu now you are close, use Electro Ball!" Ash shouted.

"Quick! Dodge!" Calem called out.

Before Absol had time to dodge, Pikachu formed an orange-yellow orb of electricity on his tail and slammed it into the opponent, dealing a notable amount of damage from being so close. Absol got staggered backward.

"Great Job, Pikachu! Now use Thunderbolt!"

"Don't let it stop you! Counter it with Dark Pulse!"

Pikachu releases a powerful bolt of yellow electricity from its body at the opponent.

Absol fires a beam of black and purple rings of energy from its mouth at Pikachu.

Two attacks collided and cancelled each other.

"Electro Ball!"

"Psycho cut!"

Pikachu formed an orange-yellow orb of electricity on his tail and launched it towards Absol who releases a purple crescent-like blade of energy from its horn.

Two attacks collided in the middle creating a large smoke that covered the area.

"Finish this! Hyper beam!" Calem shouted.

Absol opens its mouth and fires an orange beam of energy at the opponent

"Pikachu, use your tail to trople yourself into the air." Ash command.

As the Hyper beam comes near Pikachu uses his tail to jump into the air and is easily able to dodge the attack.

"Now! Thunderbolt!"

While still in the air, Pikachu releases a powerful bolt of yellow electricity from its body at the Absol. The attack hit Absol at full force as the area around Absol is covered in smoke.

As the smoke started to clear, everyone could see that Absol had fainted.

"The battle is already over," Shauna slumped onto a seat.

"Right, Pikachu defeated Absol so easily."
Clemont said.

"Absol is unable to battle which means Pikachu wins! Trainer, choose your next Pokemon." Referee said.

"Tyranitar! Let's go!" Calem said as he threw the Pokeball into the air and it revealed a Tyranitar.

"Tyranitar!!" Tyranitar shouted as he stomped his feet on the ground.

Serena watched nervously at the battlefield, she knew Tyranitar was Calem's strongest Pokemon.

"Tyranitar looks quite strong," Dawn said.

"So, who will be your next Pokemon, Ash-boy?" Gary thought.

"Pikachu, return!"

"Pika!" Pikachu nodded as he walked back towards Ash.

"Tyranitar looks strong. I know who I chose for this match against Tyranitar." Ash said to Pikachu.

Ash threw the Pokeball high into the air and the Pokemon revealed. The Pokemon roared then flew up and landed right in front of Ash.

"Charizard, are you ready to battle?"

"Chaar!!"

At the stands

"So, Ash is using Charizard for this battle. This is gonna be exciting." Gary chuckled.

The whole gang widened their eyes to see a Charizard.

"Ash has a Charizard." Serena smiled.

"I've never seen a Charizard this strong."
Trevor said in shock and everyone in the group nodded in agreement.

"Let the battle begin!" Referee said.

"Charizard, let's start with Flamethrower!"

Charizard releases a red-orange stream of fire from its mouth at the opponent.

"Tyranitar, use Dark Pulse!"

Tyranitar opens its mouth and then fires a beam of black and purple rings towards the incoming Flamethrower. Two collided and exploded into colourful sprinkles.

"Tyranitar Stone Edge!"

Tyranitar slams its hands onto the ground, causing light blue rock pillars to appear out of the ground and rush towards the opponent.

"Charizard! use Dragon Tail to send those rocks back to Tyranitar."

Charizard's tail glows light blue. It then hits the rock pillars and sends them crashing into Tyranitar.

The rocks hit Tyranitar one by one and Tyranitar staggered backward.

"Now, Dragon Claw!"

Charizard's hands become surrounded by a light green, claw-shaped energy. It then rushed towards its opponent ready to strike.

Tyranitar hands glow light green just like Charizard's. Tyranitar's Dragon Claw clashed against the Charizard attack.

For a short while, the two Pokemon pushed on fighting for dominance over the other before backing away.

"Hyper beam!"

"Dragon Pulse!"

Tyranitar shoots an orange beam of energy from its mouth at the opponent.

Charizard fires a multicoloured dragon-shaped beam of energy at the incoming Hyper beam.

Two powerful attacks collided, and a large cloud of smoke covered the middle of the battlefield.

"Now! Flare Blitz!"

Charizard's body becomes surrounded by red-orange fire, and it charges at the opponent.

Charizard launched towards Tyranitar who had no time to dodge. The attack hit hard and it created a big smoke cloud.

As the smoke cleared Tyranitar was still standing.

"Tyranitar, are you okay?" Calem asked in concern.

"Tyranitar!" Tyranitar nodded as it got ready to battle.

"Tyranitar is one tough Pokemon," Dawn said in shock as she saw that Tyranitar was still standing after the direct hit from the powerful move.

Gary nodded, "Looks like the match is not over yet."

"Alright Tyranitar, use Ancient Power!" Calem said.

Tyranitar makes multiple rocks surrounded by purple energy come out of the ground. It then sends the rocks flying at the opponent.

"Charizard, use Dragon Claw to destroy those rocks," Ash said.

Charizard uses Dragon Claw to manage to destroy some of the incoming rocks but the remaining is able to hit its Wing, and Charizard lost its momentum.

"Keep up the pressure. Thunderbolt!" Calem quickly ordered Tyranitar to attack.

Before Thunderbolt could hit its opponent, Charizard managed to dodge the Thunderbolt attack in the last second.

"Now! Dragon Claw!" Ash shouted.

"Counter it with your Dragon Claw!" Calem said.

Charizard's claw started to glow green then it rushed towards Tyranitar. Tyranitar's Claw started to glow in a similar way as Charizard's and both clashed with each other at the same time, neither of them backing down.

After some back-and-forth pushing, Charizard got the edge on it and hit Tyranitar which made it stagger back a couple of meters.

"Finish it! Dragon Pulse!" Ash said.

Charizard fires a multicoloured dragon-shaped beam of energy at the opponent and hits Tyranitar creating another large smoke to cover the area.

After the smoke cleared, Tyranitar was down on the ground with swirls in his eyes.

Calem gritted his teeth as he recalled Tyranitar back into the Pokeball.

"Tyranitar is unable to battle, therefore Charizard wins, which means Ash is the winner of this match." Referee declared.

"Good job, Charizard."

"Chaar!"

"Pika." Pikachu congratulates Charizard.

Charizard fired a Flamethrower towards
Ash and Pikachu. They are now covered in soot but they laughed.

Ash then turned to look at Calem and was about to say something but Calem started to walk away.

"What's wrong with him, it's just a battle," Ash said to himself.

At the stands

"Wow, Ash wins." Dawn cheered.

"That Charizard is sure has become a lot stronger," Gary said.

"My my... That was an impressive battle."
Miette smiled brightly seeing Ash win the battle.

On the other side

"Such a strong Charizard," Trevor mutters.

"I can't believe Calem lost," Serena said in a sad tone.

"Yeah, I've never seen it lose before." Tierno nodded.

"But I am happy that Ash won." Serena thought but didn't say it out loud.

"Anyway, the battle was great," Shauna said with a smile and everyone nodded.

"Students! That was a marvellous battle. Since this is the first day of school everyone should go home early today."
Professor Sycamore said.

Everyone cheered and started to walk out of the stadium.

"Hey, Drew I am going to meet up with Dawn and Ash," May said as she stood up.

"Sure, go ahead. I will meet you later." Drew said

May kissed his cheek and then started to walk away.

May meets up with Ash and Dawn at the playground.

"Wow!, Ash, that was an awesome battle" May yelled.

"Thanks, May!" Ash said with a smile.

"Uh, hi May. what are you doing here? And where is your boyfriend?" Dawn winked.

"Stop with that winked already." May punched her shoulder playfully.

"Anyway, it's been so long since we meet up," Dawn said with a small smile.

"Yup." May nodded.

They started to talk about how they are doing.

"May, what Max is up to?"

"He chose Treecko as his starter. He is travelling in Hoenn right now."

"That's great."

Suddenly, Eevee ran towards them and finally stopped when it was near them. Pikachu jumped off his shoulder to talk to Eevee.

"Eev Eevee!"

"Pika!"

"Wait a minute, this is Serena's Eevee," May said out loud.

"Serena's Eevee."

May nodded then walked towards Eevee and kneeled in front of her, "Hey, Eevee, where is Serena? Did you get lost?"

Eevee shook his head.

Outside of the stadium

"Where is Calem?" Tierno questioned.

"Yeah, he hasn't come back yet," Shauna asked.

"Do you guys think Calem is angry because he loses?" Trevor said nervously.

"But why! It's just a battle. Win or lose always happens."

"I think he is just angry that he loses to a new student," Tierno said.

"Serena why are you so silent," Shauna questioned.

"Uh, it's nothing." Serena shakes her head.

"I want to meet up with Ash." Serena thought.

Shauna looked at her and she wasn't convinced that it was nothing.

Suddenly Tierno starts to walk, "We should look for him."

"Right!" Trevor and Shauna nodded as they started to follow Tierno to the Locker room.

"Serena, you are not coming?" Shauna turned to look at Serena who is still standing there.

"Uh..." Serena started to say but stopped, as Eevee jumped off my arms and started to run towards the opposite side of the battlefield.

"Eevee! where are you going?" Serena yelled.

Eevee didn't even look behind and continued to run.

"Hey, guys! I have to find her before she gets lost," Serena said.

"Okay," Shauna nodded.

Serena starts to walk towards the direction where Eevee just disappeared

At the Locker Room

"How could I lose to that loser?"

"Calem what are you doing?" Tierno asked.

Calem shakes his head, "Nothing, I was thinking about my battle," Calem fake smiles.

"Okay,"

Calem looked around and noticed that Serena is not with them, "Wait, where is Serena?"

"Serena was about to come to look for you but Eevee ran away. Serena is looking for Eevee." Tierno explained.

"Let's go, we have to help Serena to find her Eevee," Calem said hurriedly.

Serena POV

I smile in relief as I saw Eevee with May, Ash and Dawn.

"Hey, Eevee, there you are," I said as I
started to walk towards them.

"Why did Eevee run off like that?" May asked.

"I don't know, she jumped off my arms and started running," I said as I grabbed Eevee in my arms and then turned to them. "Thanks, guys for stopping Eevee."

"Well, Pikachu is the one who stopped Eevee," Ash said with a smile.

"Thanks, Pikachu."

"Pika!"

With the help of Eevee, I got away from my friends without explanation and managed to meet up with Ash. Did Eevee try to help me?

"Ash, that was a great battle. I am happy that you won." I said with a small smile.

"Uh, thanks," Ash said.

"You are welcome,"

I see May and Dawn started talking with each other. This is my chance to ask him.

"Ash, can I ask you something?"

Ash nodded, "Sure,"

May and Dawn looked at me in curiosity about what I wanted to ask him.

"Ash... D-do you remember me?"

"Of course, Sere. How could I forget the cute straw hat girl?"Ash replied with a smile that made my cheeks heat up.
