YOU SHIFTED ANXIOUSLY, WATCHING through the windows as you grew closer and closer to your best friend. Owen's demands to stop the truck forced you from your thoughts and you climbed out with the others.

Wheatley comanded his troops before turning to you and Owen, "We've got your backs," he assured.

Owen nodded, "Claire, we're gonna have to do some tracking. Will you be our eyes if they run?"

"Copy," her static reply agreed.

"Alright, wait for our signal," Owen told Wheatley, who nodded, and then you and your brother were delving silently into the jungle.

You stepped lightly, your heart thundering in your ears. This was the moment of truth, this was what you'd been waiting for ever since you left the island years ago. You entered a clearing with Owen, an overturned Jeep at the opposite end.

Tension seemed to build between you as you approached the destroyed vehicle, almost certain that something was behind it. Instead, a dozen Compies scattered from inside, startling you both.

As you watched them disappear into the undergrowth, a thud and a sharp bark startled you again and you whipped back to find Blue standing on the Jeep's belly, sizing you both up.

Where was Foxtrot?

A hiss sounded behind you and you whirled around again to see your Raptor melting from the foliage. You were startled by how different he appeared, how.. wild.

He seemed slightly larger, and many scars decorated his striped, orange body, giving him a weathered, dangerous look. He peeled his lips back, revealing sharp, stained teeth. As he cautiously stepped forward, tilting his head to get a better view of you, you realized just how terrifying he was.

His slitted, yellow eyes held no kindness, but a primal intelligence, a need to protect his kin and survive. He hissed again, flexing his claws as he slowly approached you.

For the first time since the day you met him, you were actually scared.

"F-Foxtrot?" you called cautiously, reaching out a cautious hand, "it's me, it's Y/n. You remember me, don't you, Foxy?"

At his nickname, his muscles seemed to relax and he raised his head, tilting it curiously. His eyes glittered with memories and, this time, he approached with much more friendly body language.

As you reached out to stroke his outstretched snout, however, a dart just missed his neck while Blue screeched behind you.

Foxtrot reeled back, raising his head to release several loud, clear barks before brushing past you to stand by Blue protectively.

Wheatley's men appeared from the jungle and Owen yelled at them to back away as the Velociraptors sized their adversaries up, but a man had the idiocy to shoot Foxtrot with another dart, which triggered their defense.

Blue swept Owen off his feet accidentally, leaping at the man who had tranquilized Foxtrot. Foxtrot, on the other hand, raised his head again to bark three more times before preparing his own attack, which never happened because the soldier Blue had managed to shoot her in the ribs before she crushed his skull.

With a pained cry, she fell, and Foxtrot's anguished screech sent him charging at two more soldiers. He swiftly dispatched them, but the drugs were kicking in and his actions became sluggish as he stumbled toward you and Blue.

He brushed past you gently, almost as if affectionately, then laid next to Blue, resting his head gingerly on her neck.

You whipped around to Wheatley, but Owen beat you to it and screamed at him. Instead, you knelt beside the Raptors, stroking Foxtrot's rough hide. It wasn't until you heard another shot that you turned to find Owen on the ground, a tranquilizer in his chest. Zia rushed to remove it.

You jumped to your feet, but guns trained on you and Zia, especially when she pulled a gun on Wheatley. You froze in your step, sending a vicious glare at the surrounding men.

"You shoot me, and that animal dies," Zia reasoned calmly and you took a moment to appreciate her.

"I think we have the drop on you, sweetheart," Wheatley said, uninterestedly.

"She's losing blood. And if I don't treat her, she'll never make it back to camp," Zia retorted.

"How 'bout this, then, that animal dies and I shoot you. Now, you're gonna take good care of her," Wheatley responded with a glare of his own.

Then something astonishing and terrifying happened; a large gray shape shot from the jungle, barreling through the soldiers, and dragging one into the jungle. His screams were cut short.

You flinched, everyone becoming deathly silent and alert. Another creature charged through their ranks, nearly taking you out, too.

A third one appeared, but this one leaped from the foliage, crushing a man and tearing at his throat. You stumbled back in shock, it was a.. Velociraptor!

The splotched male was large and scarred, with a orange and gray hide, his amber eyes reminding you of Blue.

And then it hit you; Foxtrot was male, Blue was female, which meant Raptor offspring!

Two more slightly smaller Velociraptors entered the panicked fray, a grayish-tan female and a gray, striped male. The three of them tore through the soldiers viciously, circling their parents protectively, however they were sedated and went down.

"Three more, eh? They'll have to pay extra for them," Wheatley wiped seeat from his brow, staring at the damage they had caused before ordering his men to gather them and roll out.

"You, stay there," he told you with a growl. You glared at him and bit your tongue from retorting. Instead, you pulled Owen's unconscious head into your lap.
