"Y/N! I'VE BEEN worried sick! Oh, gosh, you look terrible. Should I take you to a hospital? What do you need? What happened?" Zach bombarded you with question after question as you flopped onto the couch, exhausted and aching.

"I'm fine--"

"Your hands are crusted with blood! Your face is covered in dirt! You are not fine," Zach argued, and you fell silent at the deep bags beneath his eyes and the puffiness of his cheeks. He had had many restless nights worrying about you.

As he came to your side, still nagging, you placed the bag onto the floor and pulled him on top of you, embracing him tightly. His warmth helped your icy bones, and his hands dug beneath you to hold your shoulders.

"I've been worried sick about you," his whisper was muffled against your shoulder, and you felt his hot tears against your skin.

"I know, I'm sorry." Tears burned your eyes as well. With all of the adrenaline, you hadn't realized how much you had missed him. His presence, his warmth, his voice.. everything.

"Promise never to do it again," he said. You winced, making him pull away, "Did I hurt you?" he asked, frantic.

You shook your head with a reluctant smile, sitting up. You exhaled deeply, averting your gaze.

"The dinosaurs. They've been released. They're roaming freely now."

Zach's expression completely fell. He collapsed against your shoulder, and you watched his body tremble with sobs.

"I'm so tired of dinosaurs. Why can't they just all die?" He cried, and you glanced toward the bag with the egg. How mad would he be..?

You rubbed his back, causing your palm even more pain. "I think... I think, it will end. And then we can have a normal life. You, me, a couple of kids to give us hell. How does that sound?"

"Amazing," his muffled voice sounded so hopeful, so pleased. It broke your heart at the realization that there was no way to hide the newest addition to your family, especially once it hatched.

Too reluctant to tell him yet, you simply let him cry, continually rubbing him until he finally perked up.

"Let me treat your injuries," he said, fetching the first aid kit from the kitchen. He knelt in front of you and began bandaging your palms and knees through the ripped fabric of your pants.

You sighed with relief after he had put ointment on your wounds, alleviating the pain. But your heart nearly stopped when he stood, his foot tapping the bag and causing the egg to roll out.

Zach instantly dropped the kit, and its contents clattered at his feet.

"Y/n, what is that?" he pointed to the egg, his gaze now locked onto your face. You could see the rage, the hurt, the fear burning in his eyes, and it stopped you from speaking.

"I'm breaking it," Zach lunged for the egg, and you scrambled to stop h as he lifted it over his head, intent on smashing it.

"Wait! It could protect us! I-it's not a dinsoaur--"

"So it's another monster?" he challenged, his voice rising in anguish. "You brought a monster into our home?"

"A monster isn't born one! It's made into one by it's treatment and how it's raised!" You argued, "I raised Foxtrot, who would have naturally hunted us, didn't I? Please, Zach, give it a chance!"

"Why should I?" Zach shoved you away, although gently. He held the egg to his chest, examining it. "It'll end up eating us, anyway."

"If it even raises a claw at me, I'll let you kill it," you wrapped your arms around his torso, watching him spin the egg in his hands from beneath his arm.

"And if it's too big to kill?"

"We'll determine if we want to keep it while it's young and little," you reassured him. Zach thought it over before giving in with a sigh, rubbing his temple.

"I'm only agreeing because the world is going to be a lot more dangerous now, and an oversized guard dog might be useful, alright?" he grumbled, handing you back the egg reluctantly. He stared at it for a long moment.

"Understood," you nodded, hugging it to your chest.

"What kind of monster is this one?" he asked, finally meeting your gaze.

"Well... uhm.. it's a more raptor-like version of the... Indominus.."

"Oh, my fucking g--"

"I love you, and you already said we could keep it!" you quickly ran toward your room, cradling the egg.

Zach gave chase, "Hey! You need to rest! Lay down!"
