I whirled around, seeing nothing. Something was here, yet nothing was here. I was ninety percent sure I was losing my mind. No one else was in the room, no one else was in the house. Gripping my scarlet locks, I crumpled to the floor as my breathing sped up. My heart rate jumped as I started to feel closed in. I closed my eyes, hoping it was just a dream, even though I knew it wasn't. Everything about this scenario was real, tangible, dangerous. I'd created a monster, a monster no one else could help with. Dylin was working a nightshift and couldn't help anyways.

Since it was late, I couldn't go anywhere, couldn't escape the monster I'd created. This damn monster was a nightmare, keeping me up late at night when Dylin was gone. It filled me with doubts, false suspicions, and anger, crippling my mind to the point where I couldn't fight back. It wasn't right, feeling how I was towards Dyl when he was gone. It's been too fucking long since I've slept peacefully through a night alone.

My skin grows colder, but I don't shiver as my vision fuzzes, distracting me. It was too much, and I fell from my knees, clutching my head as I screamed for someone to help. But no one could. It was all in my head. All too personal for anyone to help me with.

I screamed until my throat went raw, until my voice cracked. Then I sobbed. I sobbed, my sore throat protesting against the shudders. My nails dug into my skin, pain fueling the monster but I couldn't stop.

"Scott?" Dylin's voice rang through the house, causing me to sob louder. I didn't want him to see me, this wreck caused by myself. His footsteps thudded upstairs, and he stopped in the doorway.

"Baby?" I curled into myself tighter, trying to hide in plain sight. He walked closer, falling to his knees beside me.

Placing a hand on my side gently, he spoke. "What's wrong?" I shook my head, face hidden by my hands. He wrapped an arm around me, dragging me up to sit on his lap. He pried my hands from my face, holding my wrists in his hands as he looked up at me.

"Scott? What's wrong?" I shook my head again, refusing to look at him. He moved one of my wrists into his other hand, holding both together. With his free hand, he pulled a strand of hair from my cheek, sweeping it behind my ear.

He then released my wrists, wrapping both arms around my torso and pulling me close to him. "Please tell me what's wrong, baby. I don't like seeing you like this." I sniffled, burying my nose into the collar of his work shirt.

"It's nothing..."

My lil night guards: This is in no way connected to the previous oneshot. I just kinda came up with that one's name on the fly. This one, however, has a reason.

Based off the song Nightmare by Set it Off

(I'm gonna steal @Arandomperson519 's idea of putting a song at the end of every chapter, in the authors note xD She said I could anyways. The song for this chapter is obviously Nightmare xD)

As always, love,
