Today had been a long day for Chuuya. It was the end of the school year and Chuuya had graduated today. Don't get Chuuya wrong he was happy but he wanted nothing more than for Oda to be there. But even though he couldn't be all of the Armed Detective Agency came, and so did Maemi and Asa. Chuuya tried to look at it as; Oda was looking at him through them, and he knew Oda would be more than proud. After graduation Dazai said he wanted to take Chuuya for dinner to celebrate, and told him to meet him at the office. Chuuya walked inside the ADA and he thought it was oddly dark and quiet.

"Guys?" Chuuya clicked on the downstairs lights, and he started going up the stairs. "Guys? Hello?" Chuuya said looking around.

"Huh... Maybe they didn't make it back yet before me." Chuuya opened the main office door and he was startled as confetti popped in his face.

"Surprise!" Everyone yelled. Chuuya looked around as he was surrounded by friends and family. He saw a table filled with food and a huge cake saying congratulations. On another table was an abundance of gifts. Everyone hugged Chuuya and told him congratulations.

"Congratulations Chuuya." Dazai says smiling.

"Thanks..." He says softly.

"Do you have a moment? I have something I need to give you. I thought you'd want to read it privately.

Chuuya nodded. "Sure..." Dazai took Chuuya's hand and he took him out of the room for a few minutes and into a private office. Dazai closed the door behind them and Chuuya noticed an envelope in his hand.

"What's that?"

"Oda... He told me when you graduated... to give this to you. I promised, and so I am keeping my promise." Dazai extended it to Chuuya. And Chuuya sighed unsteadily as he slowly reached out and took the envelope. Chuuya opened it and he pulled out the letter, and unfolded it. Chuuya caught a card before it fell. It was a bank card with his name on it.

"...what is this?" He turned to Dazai and asked.

"Read it."

Chuuya sighed out shakily. He hadn't been able to do anything when it came to Oda. After he died, Chuuya left everything exactly the way it was. He couldn't even bring himself to open the door to Oda's room, because he knew when he did... he wouldn't be there to give him a hug, to say hi, to tell him what he cooked for dinner, to show him his new writings, it was heartbreaking for Chuuya. So reading this letter for him was very hard.

Dear Chuuya,

If you are reading this... then that means I am already gone. Congratulations on your graduation today, I am so absolutely proud of you. I wish I would have been there to see, and I am sorry I wasn't. But I am hoping this letter can bring you some comfort. I want you to know the truth of everything. When you were an infant I found you. Your original owners had abandoned you. I was so angry seeing that. You were innocent, so small, in need of someone to care for you, love you properly, and guide you in life. I never thought I was best fit, but I wanted to be that person. So that night I found you, instead of giving you to foster care, I filed to adopt you. I may have not been your biological father, but every waking moment I spent with you; I've loved you, more than anything in this world, I still do. I loved getting to see you grow from your first steps to now. I've cherished every moment. I know me being gone now is hard, and I am sorry I won't be there physically to watch you to go to college, get married, have children of your own. But know I am always with you, I may not be there physically but I am watching, and I may not be able to touch you but I am holding your hand, and you may not be able to hear me but I am cheering you on and I'll always be your biggest fan. Remember to be strong, look out for yourself, don't give Dazai a hard time he's only doing what I asked. Chuuya chuckled a bit at that as tears streamed down his face. And feel comfort with the fact one of these days once you've lived your life to the fullest, and you've become old and grey. We will see each other again. On the card in the envelope there is 100,000 dollars, I've been saving and depositing money into your bank account since you've been born. It is to get you through college. The house is paid off so it is completely yours. My car is also paid off and it is yours. I know you'll be responsible, I've taught you well.

I love you always,

Dad

Chuuya sniffled as he closed the letter back up. Chuuya turned and he looked at Dazai. "Thank you..." Chuuya wiped his tears. "Really thank you..." Dazai walked over to Chuuya and he hugged him tightly.

"He loved you more than anything in this world. And he wanted me to make sure you knew that."

Chuuya nodded. "I know..."

Chuuya went on to make his dad proud. He went to college, graduated with his Doctorate for Health Administration. Chuuya became one of the most successful doctors in Japan. He ended up getting married to Dazai, and they adopted two children. One boy and one girl; that they named Arsene and Violetta. Chuuya traveled the world with his family when he did have time off. And like Oda said, Chuuya grew to be old, and grey. Chuuya died at age 88. And Dazai a few years before him. It was darkness before Chuuya saw a bright light. He walked towards the light and at the very end of the hallway of light his eyes widened as he saw the one person he missed most.

"Dad!" Chuuya ran the rest of the way and he ran into Oda's embrace. Oda smiled as he hugged him and he gently cupped the back of his head pressing him into his chest lovingly.

"My sweet boy."

Chuuya was crying hysterically. "I've missed you so much...!"

Oda smiled sadly. "I know." Oda pulls back and he gently wipes Chuuya's tears. "Don't worry. We have all the time in the world now to spend together." He smiled happily.

The End

Thank you so much for reading til the end. I hope you guys enjoyed and I appreciate all the support during this story! For anyone who didn't understand the ending. Chuuya died, he went to Heaven, in Heaven Oda met him at the end to guide him there properly. I feel like when we die and go to Heaven we always met the first person we've missed most during our life time since they've been gone. So that is why Chuuya met Oda there, and that is why Oda said they could spend all the time together now they wanted.
