During the time of Prophet Noah (A.S), Allah Subhanahu was ta'alah charged him with the duty of preaching to his people, advising them to abandon idolatry, to worship only Allah, and to live good and pure lives. Although he preached the Message of Allah with zeal, his people refused to mend their ways. He continued to spread the true message for 950 years, even when he was mocked and taunted. This led to building the Great Ark and the Deluge, the Great Flood.

Before the flood, various species of animals sought shelter in Noah's ark. And none hurt the other in it. During the flood, prophet Noah lost his wife, and his son, but remained steadfast whilst heartbroken. However, he was disturbed by the disturbing rats that constantly fed on his wooden ark. Not only rats but termites and other xylophages.

Prophet Noah fell on his knees and prayed to Allah to help him prevent the rats from feeding on his ark. Allah then commanded him to touch a lion and he did. The lion sneezed and the cats came in pairs. They fed on the rats and other disturbing insects till they reached the promised land in Mount Ararat, the Turkey of today.

The story of Nuh (A.S) teaches us the lesson of patience and perseverance. Such are the behavior of cats, loyal and royal.
