Everyone's writing a love letter-
Platonic and romantic.
To whom shall I address mine to?

The feeling of Valentine is long gone,
The spirit of love is lost,
But,
I'm trying to write something-
That someone needs to hear.
I'm trying to be poetic,
It's not really working.

I know you didn't feel loved today-
The couples that walked by made you wish-
And curse.
The social media updates and lies-
Made you cry in sheer desperation.
"What is love?" You're thinking.

I want you to know that, you're not alone,
I don't know what it is either-
But how about we pretend,
That the two of us are deeply in love.

"I love you."
Whisper those words to me,
I'll say it right back.
Give me a kiss, and let's hold hands -
As we walk through this dark path-
in search for love.

Let it be our secret.
