I walked silently out of the hospital to see the number one hero, Deku waiting on the bench outside. Surprised a jumped a little, did he wait here the entire time.

Deku got up as soon as he saw me, "You all better?" He asked with a smile.
I shrugged, "I have to wear this stupid cast," I raised the cast that was wrapped around my arm, "I have to wear it for the next two weeks,"
Does everything come in 2-week increments? First my suspension and now this.
He jumped up off the bench, "Let's go somewhere a bit more private he said glancing at people slowing walking by, hoping to be noticed. Deku smiled and waved at them then grabbed my unbroken arm. He crouched and a greenish glow formed around him, then Deku grunted and we were launched into the air. I clenched Deku's arm in panic as winds blew by me at a hundred miles an hour. All in the moment that we left the ground we landed.
I opened my eyes to see we were on top of a skyscraper.
Deku let go of my hand and walked a few steps forward, "Sorry, I guess I should have warned you before I took off like that," he said scratching the back of his head.
I stood there in shock, "You just, jumped from..wha?"
"Pretty cool right?" He smiled, "I've always wanted to do that!"
"You mean you haven't done this before?"
"Oh no, I never really need to. I just did it now because this is where it happened to me,"
Happened to me? What's that supposed to mean?
"So, did you just wait down there for me?"
"No you were in there for a few days, your doctor said you were getting out today so I sat outside until you came out,"
"A few days! I thought I was in there for a night," I yelled.
"No, you got hurt pretty bad. I was kinda worried for you,"
A hero was worried for me?
"But you were so calm when you were carrying me to the ambulance," I said a little confused.
"If I had said you were in bad condition and might not make it you would have freaked out and hurt yourself even more," I nodded to show I understood while Deku continued, "Listen, charging in that fire was reckless and stupid. But also extremely brave! Tell me, why did you run in there?"
I thought a moment, "I don't know. I wanted to help then my legs just started moving. It was kind of hard though, I wasn't prepared to do anything so when I got in there I just, kind of, improvised, I guess,"
Deku looked at me with shining eyes, "What's your name?"
"Lauren," I said shaking in fear, no ever pays attention to me. Heck, no one even cares to bully me, most quirkless kids are bullied.
Deku stood up, his expression changed to serious yet honorable, "It's time I tell you."
"Huh?" Deku walked forward, watching the sun cast red and orange lights across the city as it set. His green hair bristled and moved in the evening wind. Gold lights shot down upon them, giving the world a new glow!
"Lauren, when I faced the villain in the building, I thought I might be done for. I didn't know where he was, and the fire only grew around him. I was ready to give up my life," Deku began as he turned around to face me. Glowing like a god, "When I saw that you had been the one not just to rush in and try to help, but to go so far as to save my life! I knew I should look no further."
I stepped back, afraid and confused. Never have I been treated in such a way, such adoration from a man had never been said to me. Deku's words sounded out as a simple harmony, "I deem you worthy of my power! My quirk is yours to inherit!" Deku held out his arms in a welcoming gesture.
Shock overcame me as I swayed back and forth on my feet. Inherit your quirk? What?!
My eyes widened and I gasped, "I sorry, what?"
"It's time I told you what my quirk really is," Deku began with distant eyes, looking back on a memory, "A long time ago there was a notorious villain called All for One. He had the power to take and give quirks as he pleased, making him an almost unbeatable villain! His brother was born quirkless, so All for One gave him a quirk called One for All. The quirk has been passed down from hero to hero until it has grown strong enough for All for One to be defeated. Luckily, 37 years ago, a pro-hero known as "The Symbol of Peace" or Almight, defeated him using the last of his energy after passing the quirk onto me. While All for One has been defeated, I have not a doubt in my mind that new challenges will rise like the dawn, allowing humanities structures to cast shadows on the most of us! Thus is why I have chosen you to take this quirk and mold it into your own power!" Deku held out his right hand and a rainbow orb crystalized from smoke coming off his body. The orb admitted a light, blending in with the sunset.
This can't be happening. Me, a stupid average kid who was damn stupid enough to run into a fire because she didn't know what else she was supposed to do. How could I get this lucky? But, my life is different from his. Deku probably grew up with a loving family and a lavish life, I don't have that. I don't deserve this! Not in my messed up life. I'm not that 1 in a million no, 1 in 10 billion kids who get greatness bestowed upon them in such a manner from such a hero. Lauren thought, too sure this was not meant for her.
She looked up at teary-eyed, "I apologize, but I can not except,"
Deku stood in utter shock, "Wha??"
"Don't get me wrong, I..I am very grateful for the offer. It's just, I'm not the kind of kid that this happens to. I'm defiantly not the person, the um, the hero you think I might be. Uh, I'm—I uh, I think this is cool. Yes, cool, and uh.." Lauren rambled nervously, unsure of what to say.
"I know, I know," Deku said, shifting to a kind of smile, "I felt the same way when I was young. Just, think about it. It's a tough decision,"
Deku walked back towards the edge of the building, and jumped up on the side wall, looking down on the city.
Something told Lauren she had made a mistake. She wasn't sure what it was, the fact that she realized she might actually do something important with her life, or just the thrill and thought of knowing and training under Deku the number one hero.
"Wait!" Lauren called, half in complete clarity of her final decision, "I accept."
She surprised herself a little with how superficial and right it sounded coming out of her mouth. Deku's grin widened as he turned from the city to look straight back at Lauren, "Lauren, you have a lot of training ahead of you. Meet me at Westwood park, 8:00 a.m. tomorrow. That's where your second step to becoming a hero will begin,"
