"Okay... When you were in Delhi..." Before Abhilash could start saying anything, the doorbell rang loudly. Abhilash looked to the door, but Zain didn't even flinch, his eyes stayed trained on Abhilash impatiently waiting for him to finish.

"When I was in Delhi what?!" He yelled out in frustration, slamming his fist on his thigh.

"Zain... the door..." Abhilash pointed to the door warily. Zain shook his head violently, his eyes were bloodshot and watering ,refusing to move from that seat until he knew what had happened with his Adi. "Zain. I promise, she'll be fine. She'll be completely fine. Let me open the door..."

Zain finally gave up his resolve, nodding reluctantly. Abhilash walked over and clicked it open, as Zain just sighed painfully, his head falling in to his hands in despair.

"Uncle ji, auntie ji! Oh wow ... I'm so sorry... it's all messy in here... we weren't expecting anybody..." Abhilash looks disorientated as he slowly opens the door and indicated for them to come in, Zain looked up in confusion, rubbing his eyes before staring at the door in question.

Suddenly he felt something on his leg.

"Chachu! Chachuuuuu! " He looked down to see Inaaya hugging his leg tightly, clutching to it, and pressing her soft cheek against the fabric of his jeans which she tugs. He couldn't help but let a tiny smile appear on his face as she clambers on to his lap, and holds out her hands as if wordlessly asking him to take her in to his arms. He immediately complies like the spoiling chachu he was, cradling her in his arms, smiling down at her.

"Ammi... papa... aap log... ab yaha?" Zain is about to stand up to greet them but his dad shakes his head, signalling that there was no need to disturb Inaaya on his lap. His heart warms seeing his family infront of him, almost causing him to forget the worry nagging him constantly.

His mother kneeled infront of the sofa in front of him, cuping his cheek tenderly. There was no way the red raw pain in his eyes and the dried tears on his cheeks could be ignored by a mother, she frowned in worry as she scrubbed at his face with her dupatta, "Beta tum teek ho na? "

"Haan of course Ammi..." Zain tried to smile convincingly, tears threatened to fall from him eyes, his mother's familiar comfort close to bringing his walls tumbling down.

"Are you sure?" His mother enquired again, she knew, she could see that something was troubling him.

"Yes Ammi, bilkhul... " He placed his hand over hers that rested on his face and squeezed it gently, he hated seeing his mother getting worried. He smiles that charming smile of his, ignoring the sinking feeling in his stomach.

"Uncle ji, Auntie ji... mein aap logo ke liye chai bana du? " Abilash asked in polite concern, walking toward the kitchen.

"Kya formality dikha rahi hu baccha?!" Ammi called out, laughing incontrollably at Abhi's rigid politeness. " Kya hum logo ko tumhe nahi jante kya? When is the last time you have entered a kitchen? Come sit here, we don't want anything..."

Abhi smiled sheepishly, ruffling Inaaya's hair and asking her sweetly, "Par Inaaya ko? Inaaya ko juice chaiyye?"

She nodded and so Abhi made his way to the kitchen, Inaaya sleepily leaned on Zain's chest, yawning, making him chuckle at her affectionately as he smoothed out her hair, "Chachu... chachi kaha hai? Mujhe chachi ko milna hai..."

Zain froze, and had to drag a smile on to his face, pecking her cheek, "Wo ab sau rahi hai Inaayu..."

"Aditi beta bhi teek hai na ?" His dad enquired with a fond softness in his eyes,

Zain's eyes immediately turned to Abhilash who got hit with guilt seeing the hurt in his eyes. Zain nodded numbly.

"Ammi?! Papa?!" Zain looked to the door of his bedroom hearing an adorable child-like sleepy voice from the corridor, she stood there pouting rubbing her tired eyes. His heart ached at her cuteness. "Aap sab yaha?"

She walked, half asleep, to touch his father's feet who happily blessed her, he wasn't always a visibly affectionate man but Aditi has a soft spot in all their hearts. His mother enveloped her in a hug and kissed her hair, and tears welled up in Aditi's eyes, she had been needing a mother right now, and his mother was no different to hers.

She groaned as she walked, her head was really heavy and there was this weird unexplained pounding in her ear drums, "Ammi, Papa? Mein chai bana lu?"

"You don't do it, you're sleepy. You go back to bed..."Zain placed a subtle hand on her shoulder, examining her for any injuries or anything different about her, with very precautious care .

"Nahi Zain.. Mein karlunga... I wan't to do it...." She smiled sweetly, and her parents were just further endeared by her innocent charm. Inaaya came sprinting to her, jumping up and down with her hands held out for her Adi chachi to lift her this time,

"Aww inaayu baby...." She cooed, moving to lift her in to her arms, but zain frowned seeing the tiredness and weakness of her limbs.

"Inaayu... yaha aao na, mere paas..." Zain beckoned her towards him, his eyes transfixed on Aditi as if she was in immediate danger, checking on her constantly. The family admired Zain's relentless overprotectiveness of Aditi. " Chachi bohot thag gayi hai,ab usse pareshaan mat karna.."

"Don't be silly... baby chachi ki paas aao... When would I get tired of seeing my precious little girl?" She lifted Inaaya in to her arms, cradling her carefully. Inaaya sighed in content as she wrapped her legs around Aditi's waist and buried her head in to the nook of her neck. "Are you tired baby?"

Inaaya nodded slowly, snuggling further in to Aditi, she frowned caressing her hair until her breathing settled slightly. "Aw ab bohot travel ke hogi... wo bhi itni dher raat mein... she must be so sleepy..."

Aditi carried her in to the guest bedroom and tucked her in to the blanket, she perched beside her on the bed, watching over her until she fell asleep. Zain's heart wrenched, she was so exhausted yet she stayed unmoving, leaning awkwardly on to the headrest until she was sure that Inaaya was asleep. How could god let something happen to someone so pure and beautiful?

She got up and disappeared in to the kitchen before Zain could object, Abhilash continued to speak to his parents animatedly, "Bhaiyya aur bhabi nahi aayi?"

"Oh no, they are due in hospital soon as she is expecting the baby in a few days... We thought we would stay here till then, we wanted to distract Inaaya a little, they haven't been able to give as much attention recently, and she began constantly asking for her chachu and chachi..." His mother explained, Zain smiled affectionately looking at Aditi again, almost in disbelief that she actually existed in his life, someone who loved his family like her own.

"And what about her abhi uncle?" Abhi provoked playfully, earning a hit on the top of his head from zain's dad, who laughed heartily.

"And of course her Abhi uncle, her favourite..." Abhi nodded proudly, and Aditi's melodious laughter drifted through the door as she brought in cups of tea for everybody.

"Oh Aditi , baccha, this wasn't necessary-"

"Nahi Ammi, aise mat kahiye... you know I love to do such things for you both..." She hands everyone a cup of tea, and his parents observe her admiringly, besotted by her simplicity and loving nature.

As she passes a cup to Zain, his fingers linger on hers causing that immediate rosy blush to heat her face, He stroked his thumb over her knuckles, staring at her intently, as she tried to squirm away, hissing under her breath, "Zain stop it... just take it..."

"Mere paas bet ja na Adi..." He pouted adorably, she shook her head feeling her resolve melt because of those puppy dog eyes of his.

"Kahaan? Idiot..." Her eyes widened in shock as he indicated towards his lap, she gasped hitting him subtly on the chest.
"Ammi, papa ki saamne? Pagal..."

His parents had amused looks on their faces as they saw how smitten he was with Aditi, their hushed whispers, and the way he kept on tugging at her hand and she kept resisting him, "Aditi beta, you don't have to be shy around us, act just as you would have done if we weren't here ..."

"ji Ammi? What do you m-" She got flustered, hoping they all hadn't seen Zain pestering her like a small needy child.

"I mean beta, you sit with him. We can see that's what you both want. Just behave exactly as you do when we aren't here to disturb you-" She smiles knowingly, Aditi's blush goes so dark she's almost purple, she chews her lip nervously.

"No Ammi, how could you be disturbing us-"

Zain yanked her by the arm to fall in to the chair beside him, getting impatient without having him near her. She stares at him angrily , crossing her arms over her chest and shoving away from. Zain leaned in to her, nestling her in to his side as he reached down to her ear. His husky voice lowered to a whisper sensually, "Why are you getting annoyed... I haven't showed them what I would actually do if no one was here-"

A tingle went down her spine as she saw his eyes darkening with a naughty intention, he smirked at her and she was too stunned to even push him away.

"Bhai control!" Abhi exclaimed, making the whole room erupt in to laughter, leaving them pink in embarrassment.

"arrey ... don't tease them Abhi.." His mum reprimands, but she couldn't surpress her own laughter.

They finally cracked a smile, his hand supporting her back proudly.

"bhai aur bhabhi ki baby, little prince hai ya princess?" Aditi asked cutely, clapping her hands in excitement, Zain watched her beside him with a dreamy smile on his face

"a little boy beta..." his dad explained, and Aditi's eyes lit up in joy, turning round and kissing Zain's cheek sweetly without thinking.

"You are going to be a chachu again baba..." She congratulates him under her breath, making him smile warmly, his heart aching.

"Aur tum chachi..." He rests a kiss in her hair, murmuring in to his scalp. Everyone else just says nothing, just watching them in awe.

"You are going to be the best chachu in the world , you're already the best chachu in the world..." He chuckles softly at her earnestness, his hand stroking up her leg and resting on her thigh.

"So when are you going to make me the best papa in the world?" He whispered faintly so that nobody could hear, his eyes glimmering in mischief as he eyed her soft lips cheekily, she gasped in shock at his boldness.

"Besharam!" She mumbles, bright red in embarrassment.

She yawns loudly, her head naturally leaned on his shoulder and her body curled up in to a ball against him without thinking of their surroundings. She tries to bury herself in to his sweatshirt as she shivers and his arm immediately wraps protectively around her side.

She suddenly realises what she's doing and forces herself to crank her head back up to look at his grinning parents shyly, he chuckles at her innocence kissing her scalp, "Go Adi... go and sleep baby..."

"No Zain!" She exclaimed like a child as if he had said the most outrageous thing in the world, "That's so rude, how could I do that?

"Aww meri perfect adi..." He kissed her temple gently again, all whilst their family awwed at them. "I'm telling you na, go and sleep. Don't stress yourself out...."

"Fine." She murmured, too tired to resist it. She held on to his thumb like a baby, her tired voice was the cutest thing he had ever heard, "tum bhi aao na mere saath..."

He opened his mouth to protest but sighed seeing her puppy eyes, ones he never refused.

"pleaseeeeee" She pouted at him in that adorable, irresistible way, stil snuggling in to his sweatshirt.  "I don't sleep well without you to cuddle, you know that..."

He admired her in awe, brushing away the hair scattered on her face. He pulled on his sweatshirt and carefully made her wear it, and turned her away subtly so no one could see him kiss away her pout.

She smiled up at him in adoration, in surprise at how perfect he really was. He had an adorable apologetic face that hurt her heart, "I'll come in a bit, you try to sleep, okay?"

She nodded at him,  checking tentatively whether Abhi and his parents were immersed in conversation before kissing his cheek affectionately, "goodnight jaan..."

He caressed his cheek in happiness as she stood up, pulling the sleeves of his sweatshirt with her hands to cover her more. She waved charmingly, "good night Ammi, papa... tum bhi Abhi... you all sleep soon too... please..."

His mother went over to her and kissed her hair fondly, rubbing her arm, "thank you beta..."

Aditi looked at her in confusion, making her grin, "I'll explain later baccha, you go and sleep now..."

....

Aditi clutches the necklace in her fist, squeezing it so tightly that her knuckles went white, as if it was going to give her reassurance. She stares out of the window, rubbing her arms to try and warm herself up.

She bit her lip, her eyes watering, she promised herself she wouldn't cry over it anymore. Zain was back, her Zain was back, nobody could hurt her anymore, she just had to forget it. Let it go.

She felt his hands wrap around her waist from behind, just making it more difficult for her not to break down in his arms. He rubbed her arms, as if knowing exactly what she needed, she leaned back in to him, melting in to his embrace.

He smiled at her softly, pecking her cheek and burying his nose in to her temple, inhaling deeply, "Aren't you sleepy Adi?"

"Hmm..." She knew her voice would shake if she said anything, she turned in to him slightly, pressing her cheek against his chest. He frowned as he tightened his arms around her, looking down at her in worry.

His finger absentmindedly traced light patterns on her belly, her eyes squeezed shut, her palms cupping his hands, "Adi? Kya hua?"

She picked at a button on his shirt, fiddling with it in an attempt to distract herself, "kuch nahi... bus neend nahi aa rahi hai..."

He furrowed his brows, staring at her in silence, clearly unconvinced, he plays with the strands of her hair that had fallen out of her high ponytail, "Then why do you look so tense? You know I hate it when you're upset..."

"I just- it's nothing Zain..." She pushed him away slightly, stepping away. She starts folding away his clothes that laid strewn on the bed, and he sighs at her diversion.

"Nothing? You promise there's nothing?" She sensed the fear in his voice, and felt the guilt biting away at her. She turns her face away from him, but she can't hide the way she wipes away a tear that trickles down her face.

"Nothing" she mutters, which hit him like a punch to the gut. She was lying to him. He went over to her, holding her wrist to stop her from walking away from him.

He caresses her cheek, his thumb stroking away her tear, "Adi batao mujhe..."

"It's nothing, i told you..." Her voice was strained now, almost desperate as she tried to get out of his grip.

"Adi... You can tell me anything, you know that, I am here with you... What do you have to be scared about?" She looks in to his eyes for a second, his lips parting as if she was contemplating it. But his eyes were so vulnerable, it would break his heart, she couldn't do that.

"I know... I know but-" She rested her forehead on his shoulder, his face evidently showed how terrified he was but he maintained his calm. He held her back supportively, and his hands gently roaming her back soothed her slightly, "But I'm okay..."

"Adi mujhse jhoot mat bolo..." He cupped her face, his eyes were sterner now, he'd had enough of her hiding things from him.

"I'm not-" Her whisper was barely audible, her eyes looking at the ground, the sinking feeling back in her stomach.

"Adi don't act like this." He went rigid, his voice more abrasive. She moved back slightly, knowing he was getting angry now, he had an bad temper when it came to things about her.

"I'm not acting like anything Zain." She retorted, her eyes glimmering with tears, his anger reminded her of the nasty memories lingering in her mind.

"Are you hiding things from me?" She saw the hurt in his eyes, she sighed seeing the tears brimming in his eyes, god she hated hurting him.

"No." Her voice shook, fiddling with the locket in her hands, she wanted him to stop being angry, she couldn't take it.

"Then?" He raised his voice, his gaze burned through her soul, she squeezed her eyes shut, her breathing ragged.

"Nothing, I'm-"

He yelled now, his eyes steeling as he stepped closer to her harshly, "What the hell is going on!? Why aren't you fucking talking to me Adi!?"

She flinched at his action, her hands moving to close her ears tightly. She coughed as if choking on her cries, pleading, "Don't yell... please Zain please dont yell..."

He panicked at her sudden change, curling up on herself as she rocked back and forth on her feet in some sort of trauma.

"Adi?" He gasped, his expression softening as he cupped his hands over hers on her ears in a split second, shielding her from her own thoughts. She clung to his shirt, burying her face in his chest, sobbing quietly.

He caressed her hair gently, his anger disappeared immediately, whispering sweet nothings in to her ear, "hey... look at me baby... breathe..."

"Don't get angry, don't yell please..."

He reeled back in guilt, he moved her hands away from her ear gently, she grasped on to his hands and he squeezed them in reassurance, "I won't, I won't yell, I promise... Don't cry baby please... it kills me when you cry..."

She nodded, playing with his fingers like a small child, he looked down at her, confusion and worry written all over his face, "You are going to be fine. How will I fix it if you won't tell me what's going on?"

She tensed again, making him close his eyes in defeat, he just couldn't get it out of her. She surprised him, uncurling his fist by stretching out his fingers and placing the necklace in his hand. She closed his hand around it again, looking up at him imploringly.

He looked at it in question, before glancing up at her again, "Pehenado mujhe... please..."

Her broken eyes shattered him, he was so scared and confused, he brushed away the hair on her face, "What's going on Adi?"

"Please Zain..." He could never deny her when she pleaded with his name in that voice, he sighed softly.

His nimble fingers untied her hair, gathered it and moved it around over her one of her shoulders. He watched her carefully as he slowly placed the locket around her neck, clasping it.

She shuddered at the comfort in his touch, the gnawing feeling in her stomach as the memories washed over her again. He tried to pull away to look at her properly but she just clung to him tighter, tugging at his shirt like a baby.

She grasped her arms around his neck, standing on her tip toes to snuggle her face in to the gap between his neck and his shoulder. He rubbed her back tenderly, "Adi you've got to talk to me..."

"Say it..." She whispered in to his ear, shivering slightly.

"Say what?"

"Tell me what you told me the first time you gave me this necklace... Say it again please Zain..." He felt her tears soak through his collar.

He pulled back slightly, wiping away the tear rolling down her face and leaning down to plant a kiss on her forehead, he smiles weakly. He spoke under his breath, his nose grazed her earlobe intimately, "I can't wait to make you Mrs Aditi Zain Imam one day..."

"Oh Zain..." She mumbled in emotion, still not moving her face from his shirt. She held his thumb and trailed it across the parting of her hair, as if he was applying sindoor on her. She took his hand and ran it over her body, down the side of her breasts, down her stomach and her thighs.

His hand clenched slightly as he frowned in puzzlement, it didn't feel right, she was so tensed under his touch, so fragile, that it felt like he was violating her.

He tried to move his hand away but she dragged it back, she grazed her body with his hand this way repeatedly, as if she was trying to helplessly erase something.

He didn't know what the hell was going on but he could sense her terror, He kissed her hair, and let his lips linger there, letting her lead his hand down her body with no questions, knowing that at this moment of time she needed him, he reassures her tenderly "I'm here baby... you're going to be okay... I'm here with you..."

"Promise me I'm going to be yours Zain..." She whimpered, chills running through her blood, as she tried her hardest not to cry.

He grimaced in pain seeing her so upset, he captured her lips delicately, sweetly, gingerly, he pulled back with a proud smile, "You're already mine Adi..."

His gentleness brings the urge to cry, chaotic and powerful, spilling hot tears down her cheeks, she hugs his waist, leaning her entire weight on him, dependant on him entirely.

He cradled her in his arms, lifting her on to the bed, sniffling back the tears that were caught in his throat. He covered her with a blanket, kneeling beside her in the bed, her heavy eyes are already closing as soon as he tucks a pillow under her head.

He gets up to get her water, knowing that her throat would sting the next day because of her crying. But he felt her tug him back, pulling his sleeve. She moves away from the pillow and places his arm under her head instead, looking back he saw that sulk, his weakness.

"I'm sorry..." she mumbled, half asleep, he kneeled back beside her, patting her hair. "Please don't hate me..."

"Adi-"

"mujhe chood ke mat jaana...please..." Whenever she spoke in hindi, with that pouting scowl, he knew how sensitive she was, it meant she was exhausted, she couldn't take it anymore.

He sighed in sadness, trying to pry her hand of his sleeve. When he tries to move her, she clings to him, hugging his waistband as he kneels, resting her sleepy head on his stomach.

"Aww baby..." He let out a deep shaky breath, he shifted her to the side and sat on the bed. He tried to lay down but she still gripped on to his stomach, so he stayed sitting, rubbing the side of her waist soothingly.

He watched her head rest on his stomach, slowly relaxing as she felt him rise and fall with his breaths. She smiled slightly, snuggling further in to him. He saw the way her hair stuck to her face with sweat.

He grabbed a hair band that she had left on the bedside table, gathering her hair and tying it, careful not to hurt her.

He wondered whether he should ask her what was wrong again, whether she would be ready to tell him now.

"Zain mujhe Mumma ki yaad aarahi hai..." She grumbled cutely, hiccuping back her tears as his heart stings, he pokes her nose playfully, trying to cheer her up.

"Mein maa ko phone kar do?"  Zain asked softly, tracing his fingers down her features distractedly.

"Maa?" She asked in confusion hearing him call her mother this way, looking up with adorable excitement in her eyes. "But my family doesn't even know about you, they may not accept you, they liked my ex-"

"I love you Adi, and everything that's yours  is mine, including your family..."  She smiled up at him dreamily, and he shook her head at her childish behaviour affectionately. "And your problems Adi... you understand? Your problems are mine too..."

"I don't-" He could see her struggling again, and he leaves it, cuddling her protectively.

"If maa was here, what would she do?" She kisses his earlobe showing her thank you so sweetly, he chuckled gently watching her in awe.

"She would sing..."

"But I can't-" He sighed as she pouted, batting her eyelashes at him. "Okay... fine... but don't you dare mock my voice..."

"I love your voice Zainu..." she giggled as he rolled his eyes and pulled a face, but she knew he would never ever deny her of anything.

He cleared his throat, his knuckles running down her spine. She yawns, mewling cutely like a cat. She leans over him to get his phone from the bedside table. She opens his Instagram feed and scrolls through, lazily wrapping her leg around his waist.

"What's this?" Zain asks authoritatively, trying to suppress his smile at her cuteness. Her scrolling through his Instagram was a common thing, and he preferred it over her looking at her own and seeing all that hate.

He grabs the phone of her, making her huff in irritation, "You know that the light of the phone ruins your sleep, no phone."

"Zain..." She groans, but he shakes his head putting the phone back.

"I thought you wanted me to sing?" She stayed silent, smiling innocently, and he laughed knowingly.

His voice was husky, low and textured, it made butterflies flutter in her stomach, her heart pounding.

"Ke tere liye duniya chod diye
Tujhe pe hi saas aake rukhe
Mein tujhe ko kitna chahata hu
Ki tu kabhi soch na sake..."

A tear rolled down her face, as she kissed him where her head rested, she knew she shouldn't be hiding something from him, the guilt hurt like hell.

"kuchh bhi nahi hai ye jahaan
tu hai to hai is mein zindagi
ab mujhko jaana hai kahaan
ke tu hi safar hai aakhiri"

She looked up at him to see his eyes welled up with tears, hurt and love filled them, so much love that it could consume her soul entirely, so much love she didn't deserve.

She bit her lip, she wasn't going to sob again, "This is mumma's-"

"Favourite song... I know..." He whispered back, and her heart broke. He smiled at her with such devotion in his eyes that she cried softly. "You told me-"

She pounces on to him, capturing him in a bone crushing hug. She guided his hand to wrap around her tightly, "Hold me... please..."

She squeezed his hand that she put around her, coughing as she held back her sobs. He moved his other hand to cradle her head and cover her ears as if guarding her from the ugly world around her, shielding her from anything that could hurt her, "adi... shhh... I've got you..."

....

"Zain I will only tell you if you promise you will listen patiently, okay?" Zain glared at Abhi for a few seconds, angry that he hadn't told him immediately. Aditi was serving his family lunch in the other room, and Abhi stuttered over his words, knowing Zain would murder him.

"How am I meant to keep calm when my girlfriend goes to sleep crying every night?! How am I meant to keep calm when somebody could have hurt her when I wasn't here-" Abhi frowned sadly, as Zain pounded his fist on the table, ripping the skin off his knuckles.

"Otherwise you will have to get it out of Adu..." Abhilash stayed unmoving on his offer, making him sigh heavily after a few second, gritting his teeth before nodding, "Okay... then I'll tell you..."

FLASHBACK

"Hello?"

"Hello Bhabhi!" Aditi smiled immediately, it difficult not to smile at a voice so optimistic, friendly and warm.

"Do you have any dinner left over for me?" She could almost hear his pout over the phone, but she also knew her boyfriend's bestfriend well and knew exactly what his plan was.

"Arrey kyu?" She suppressed her laughter, questioning him suspiciously.

"I'm craving food made by my bhabhi's hands na?" He attempted to convince her unsuccessfully.

"I've finished it all, I'm sorry Abhi..." She lied, biting her tongue playfully.

He was rendered silent for a second, out of excuses, "uh- well I'll come anyway, I'm already on the way so I can try fix that bulb that's gone out-"

"Saaf saaf batao yaar..." Aditi laughed at his hopelessness, making him smile goofily too.

"Fine. " Abhi huffed, sulking in his defeat. "That overprotective boyfriend of yours has ordered me not to let you spend nights alone... so I'm going to come over for a while. I thought I could get some yummy food out of it too..."

"What is this yaar..." Aditi burst in to uncontrollable laughter, clutching her hurting stomach. "You're honestly mad..."

"Hey! Adu! Don't mock me!"

"Zain tumhara boss hai kya? That you are taking his orders? You relax at home yaar, there is no need to come here..." She giggled, shaking her head.

"You think I'm going to leave my bhabhi alone there huh? I wouldn't dare, whether Zain told me or not. I'm coming now, I'll arrive in 30-40 minutes..." Aditi sighed happily as the he cut the phone, she'd always be grateful for the wonderful people Zain had given her in her life, and how those people loved her so unconditionally.

She goes in to the kitchen, and starts preparing aloo paratha, the dish Abhi loved made by her hands. She couldn't thank him in words for the way he's looked after her when Zain was in Delhi, but she wasn't going to let him leave without treating him.

The doorbell rings in 20 minutes and she frowns slightly as she washes the flour of her hands, it's surprising that he would get here so early in the traffic at this time of night.

She dries her hands on Zain's shirt that she was wearing, it completely slipped her mind to get changed in to something else but with Abhi it would have been okay anyway. She clicked the lock on the door, and opened it widely.

"Tum?"  She froze in horror. She stepped back, trying to slam the door closed but he leaned his body weight on the door, wedging it open.

"What the fuck are you doing here? Leave me alone!" She spat at her ex, pushing at the door desperately to try and close the door, to no avail.

"Hey darling... you're looking sexy in that outfit of yours..." He eyed her lustfully, and she felt nauseated, it took her months to forget the sick lust in his eyes. Suddenly she felt bare, pulling the shirt down to try and cover more.

"Look, I'm warning you." She shook in fear, but she didn't let it show on her face. "Just leave now, for your own good. Or I'll get Zain..."

He laughed loudly, but the noise was grinding, menacing. Her stomach churned, "I know he's not at home darling..."

"How did you-"

"You aren't going to invite me in?" He smirked, that smirk that chilled her blood.

"No. Fuck off. I'm done with you Kartik" She pointed at him sternly, narrowing her eyes at him, how she wished Zain was with her right now.

He slipped inside, shutting the door behind him and locking it before she could protest, "What the hell-"

"Shhh... no darling... don't yell..." He pinned her to the wall, clamping her mouth to shut to mask her screams. "God how I missed you..."

"Let go of me you sick bastard..." She screeched as his hands roamed downwards, reaching places she'd never let anybody but Zain touch ever again.

"I love you Aditi... why don't you understand?" He said in that sadistic patronising tone that he always used to used to berate her. "And you ruined everything we had. But now I've come to get you back... "

"I don't want to come back, I don't want to go back to that hell." She flailed in his grip, kicking and screaming but to no use. He found pleasure in her struggle, watching her body attentively, pervertedly. "For once in my life, I'm happy. Why do you have to come and fucking ruin it for me every time!?"

"You'll never be happy without me darling... I'm not having you be with that bastard, you understand?"

She shoved him off her, pushing his chest roughly, her eyes watered but she didn't cry, her voice hoarse, "Don't talk about Zain like that."

"What the hell do you you even see in him!? For god's sake, if I say you're mine, you're going to be mine!" She slapped him across the cheek, her eyebrows knitted together furiously, leaving a bright red raw mark. He stumbles back, his mouth gaping in shock.

"You. What the hell did I see in you? You shut me off from the world, Zain showed me the world. You made me feel like shit, and Zain has done everything he can to make me happy. He makes feel safe, whereas you are the reason I ever felt unsafe. I'm his." She hissed, grimacing at him, as if even facing him disgusted her.

"Who fucking told you to argue back with me!?" She gagged for air as he punched her in stomach and she doubled over, already feeling faint. He had hit that old bruise on her stomach, causing that agony she knew so well, the same bloody bile in her throat.

"There isn't going to be a need to argue anymore, I've come here to make you mine for good." She looked at him cluelessly and before she could react he threw her over his shoulder and carried her in to her bedroom as she tried to manueuvre herself to kick him away.

Her blood ran cold just being in that room, her and Zain never shared the bedroom in her apartment, infact she avoided it as much as she could whatsoever. It just reminded of the horrid nights she used to have to spend in here.

"Why can't you just leave me alone?" She cried out, begging for mercy.

"In a few minutes I'm never going to let you go anywhere, Mrs Aditi Kartik Khuranna." She gasped, trying to move away from his arm that roped painfully tight around her waist.

"Let me go!" She still didn't indulge in the sobs that threatened to leave her throat, Zain wouldn't want her to fall weak infront of this man.

He took out sindoor and a mangalsutra and she turned rigid and pale. He grinned up at her  and her heart fell to her stomach.

"Aditi darling it's for the best, I've already told them. You know how much your parents love me. And that they wouldn't accept that Zain. They take my support not yours. What will happen if you refuse me darling? Who will stand for you?"

When he looked at her like that, she felt like the distortion of what she used to be. The pungent scent of his sweat was back, sting of the blood running down her thighs were back. Her nails looked ripped, broken and bleeding again, like they used to be when she used to try and fight back.

That accelertion of her heart.

All those dirty, filthy feelings that Zain was helping her get through. This monster brought it all back.

She trembled as he clasps the mangalsutra around her neck, but his other hand chokes her neck, leaving her defenceless.

"I'm making you Mrs Aditi Karthik Khuranna..." He repeats in that harrowing, chilling voice.

He trailed his hand and ran it over her body, down the side of her breasts, down her stomach and her thighs that were left exposed in the short shirt.

She convulsed in repulsion, she genuinely felt vomit in her throat. Never had she felt so disgusted, ashamed as he presses himself in to her.

He takes sindoor on his finger, and moved to fill her hairline but she jerked his hand away, causing the sindoor to spill all over the floor. She used his disorientation to rip off the mangalsutra and try to run.

But he traps her again, caging her in his arms, "I'll let you go darling, but I just want to warn you of the consequences"

He hands her his phone, open on his gallery and in a second... the world around her stops. Her world comes crashing down.

He catches the phone before it clattered on to the ground, falling out of her tremoring hands.

A tear rolled down her face, her voice cracking, "How did you- how could you?"

Her eyes squeezed shut as she wrapped her arms around herself, protecting herself from the sick humiliation, the mortifying nightmare.

On his gallery were a collection of photos of her, when she was asleep, in her lingerie or other intimate things, and she had never felt so hollow, so violated.

"You wouldn't want them to get leaked, would you darling? You're a well known face now... it would ruin you..." He smirked and she peeled open her eyes to stare at him, her hands balled in to fists, how could she ever stand this man? He didn't have even an inch of humanity in him.

She reaches forth to grab the phone frantically to try and delete the photographs, but he just smiles ironically at her attempts, "You think I wouldn't have made back ups?"

"If Zain was here he would murder you, you sick bastard! You monster!" She howled, as she tried to shove away the arm he had around her.

"But he's not here now darling... what will you do now?"

Her face clenched in fear, in pain, and she hated what she felt, she was filled with vengeance, with loathing for the man in front of her. She breathed sharply, "You know what? I don't fucking care."

She stepped towards him, her eyes fiery and the same strength regained in her yell, "If he was here he would want me to show you your place. And I don't care what you have on me, but I'm fucking done with this. I'm done letting you walk all over me."

She socked him in the jaw, making him hold the wound, looking at her in surprise. Before his reflexes could catch up she punched him in the nose, blood pouring down his face, she sighed in relief. She elbowed him in his adams apple, a spot that rendered him paralysed for a moment as she kicked him in the groin to fall on to the ground with a low groan.

She stamped on his spine, to make sure he wouldn't run after her and sprinted out of the apartment as if her life depended on it.

.

Abhi looked down in confusion as something tumbled straight in to his chest, he looked down to see Aditi with distressed tears running down her face.

She jumped and hugged him tightly, breaking down in to bitter sobs, her frail body quivering, "Zain... Zain..."

"Adu?" Abhi gasped in surprise, grabbing hold of her body as her knees went weak, scared she would collapse on to the floor, "Aditi what happened?"

"Mujhe Zain chaiye... please... mujhe Zain ke paas leke gao Abhi..." She mumbled in to his chest, her tears soaking his jacket as she begged helplessly.

"Haan... Haan teek hai... leke jaunga mein, par batao na Adu? Kya hua?" He rubbed her back gently to comfort her, as she slowly settled down, clutching to him
as her brains fogs up in trauma.

"Abhi... what if Zain hates me? I didn't want to- mean to-"

"Shhh... you'll be fine, just tell me, tell me what happened?" He rubs her arm as she squeezed her eyes closed and tried to gather herself, she steadied her wobbly breathing and told him what happened.

"How dare he fucking do that to you!?"  He yells, horrified shock on his face, he tightened his hold protectively, frowning in anger. "That fucking bastard..."

"Abhi... Abhi I want Zain... I'm scared..." She weeped, fisting his jacket in her hands, he patted her hair to try and comfort her but nobody could console her the way Zain could, nobody could make her feel as safe.

"I know... I know adu... But I'm here right? I won't let anything happen to my bhabhi na?" He kissed her hair, and she nodded slightly like a small child, it almost felt like she was with her brother. But even her brother had never loved her so dearly.

"Let me go find him, you wait here okay?" He patted her cheek, smiling widely to try and cheer her up. She split a small smile, only to appease him.

.

"Hey..." He came back to see her crouching against the wall, with her face hidden in her hands. He leaned down and lifted her to her feet, handing her Zain's jacket that he had taken from her apartment, "I don't know where he's gone..."

She clung to the jacket, he wrapped it around her shoulders and she buried herself in it and inhaling its familiar musky scent. She looked up at him, and those terrified eyes could have broken anybody's heart, "But those pictures?"

"It's going to be okay... we'll work it out, you don't worry about it. Come now, lets take you back home..." He lead her back in to the apartment, he had already tidied it for her, cleaning the sindoor and blood off the floor, picking up the scattered mangalsutra beads.

He helped her get in to bed, adjusting the ac to help her sleep, "Are you comfortable Adu?"

She nodded with glassy eyes, in disbelief of how much Abhi was doing for her. He reached for his phone and she grabbed his hand to stop him, violently shaking her head, "I'll call Zain, tell him, you'll feel much better..."

"No Abhi..." Aditi begged, fresh tears in her eyes that confused Abhi. "Don't tell him..."

"Have you gone mad? How can you just not tell him?!"

"It will just hurt him, Abhi. And I know him, he'll come straight back here, and he still has important work in Delhi..."

"Adu-"

"Please... He'll get so angry... I'm worried he'll do something stupid and hurt himself. And It would just burden him... and he's gone to Delhi after so long..." She begged so desperately, tugging his hand so innocently that he had to cave.

"Okay. Fine. I'll call him and you talk to him and we won't mention anything for now, but you have to tell him as soon as he gets back..."

She nods obediently like a small child, and Abhilash sighs, dialling his number.

Aditi stops him again, lisping softly, "Video call kar sakthi hu? I want to see him. I really want to see him right now Abhi..."

"Of course..."

Zain picks up the phone, and smiles at his friend but he looked exhausted, running his hands through his sweaty hair, "Hey man... how are you?"

Abhi struggled to smile back but eventually lets out a small grin, "I'm okay... how's Delhi?"

He seemed slightly flustered, rushed, "Good... good yaar... it's okay, It's busy. But it's nice to meet everyone. Actually I'm a little busy right now... could I call back later?"

Abhi looked over to Aditi and saw her face fall in disappointment, "Sure Zain?"

"Haan... i am sure? Why wouldn't I be?"

"Aditi hai mere saath-"

"Adi?!" His eyes immediately lit up in joy, all the tiredness dissapeared off his face just at the mention of her. "Adi ko phone dedho na pleaseee"

"Oh really? So I was the only you weren't interested to talk to?" Abhi raised his eyebrow playfully, making Zain rub at his neck nervously.

"It's nothing like that- I just-"

"Aww becchara... teek hai le, le tera Adi..." He laughed, handing the phone to Aditi. Patting the top of her head before sitting on a chair further away to not interfere in their conversation, but also still accompany Aditi.

"Adi!" He yelled, completely ecstatic, like a   child whose biggest wish had been fullfilled. He scrunched up his face as he cooed at her, "Ya Allah! Adi meri chaand ... meri pari... god you look so pretty..."

He blew her an uncountable amount of kisses, making her giggle sweetly though her eyes welled up with tears, "Accha? Aaj kya hogaya janab? Itna pyaar?"

"Kya karoon meri raani I'm missing you like crazy..." She chewed the inside of her mouth to stop her from crying out loud, her eyes stinging with tears, "I wish you were here with me... it's fun but- god I'm drained out. You would make everything better..."

"I wish you were here with me right now too Zain-"Abhilash could see that she was getting upset now, that she would break down and so he cut her off.

"Hey dude be careful what you wish for... you want to take her to delhi?" Abhi interjected playfully, wiggling his eyebrows in a teasing warning. "You'll let her meet your friends? Hum Delhi ki ladke ki baare me bhaat kar raha hu Zain-"

Hilarious fear crossed Zain's face, and then he frowned like a moody child, "damn it. Damn it, I didn't think of that. I'm telling you now Adi, I'm not going to take you to meet any of my friends when you come to Delhi."

"But-"

"Nope."

"Okay..." She sighed, sniffling her tears, he frowned in confusion, Aditi never backed out like that, she never stayed quiet if he got overprotective.

But for Aditi, this was what she needed right now, for once she just wanted to let him protect her, shield her from everything. She had today really realised, how lucky she was that he was always there to guard her. She missed it today.

"Adi? Tum teek ho na?" The concern was apparent on his face and her stomach churned, she glanced up at Abhi who blinked at her in reassurance.

Zain's voice strained in worry, he hated being away from her, "Adi? Baby?"

"I'm fine, honestly-"

"When's the last time you slept properly? You've eaten right? Are you worried about something? Do you need anything- Shall I book a flight home?" He hysterically blurted out millions of questions on her wellbeing, his face crippled in panic.

"I'm okay..." She stumbled over her words slightly, smiling as widely as she could until he seemed at least slightly satisfied. "I'm just really tired..."

"Aww adi... then what are you doing? Go, go and sleep..." Zain sulked sadly, stroking the screen on her nose and cheek as if caressing her. She smiled softly, "good night baby..."

"Goodnight meri jaan..." She blows him a kiss, rubbing her face with her other hand to hide her tears.

He mimics catching the kiss and taps his lips and gave that goofy grin that he always gave her when he received a peck on the lips. He kisses the screen on her cheek, making her eyes close emotion.

END OF FLASHBACK

"Fuck." Zain yelled in fury, his muscles clenched and his whole body trembling in in rage.

Suddenly it all made sense, why she had asked him to make her wear the locket the way her ex had made her the mangalsutra, why she ran his hand through her hairline and down her body in that specific pattern as if erasing that bastard's touch, and why she begged him to tell her he would make her Mrs Imam, to forget the way that monster had told her she was his.

"How couldn't I realise-" He ran his hand through his hair, his heart racing, he was a step away from murdering somebody right now. "How couldn't she tell me?!"

"Zain, it was just because she cares for you-"

"Really?" He laughs bitterly, tears running down his face as he pushes something of the table and it clatters to the ground. "Well it's a fucking horrible way of showing it. She didn't trust me enough to tell me? She didn't think I was capable of taking care of her?"

"No Zain-"

"You could have told me too. Didn't I deserve to know Abhi!? Was she ever planning to tell me?"

"Z-"

"What if that bastard tries something again? How would I know?" He screamed, as Abhilash failed to calm him down.

He went numb suddenly, falling back in to the chair, his voice raspy, "What if he takes her away from me?"

"He can't do that... He won't be able to..." Abhi senses his sudden vulnerability, pulling a chair in front of him and placing a comforting hand on his shoulder.

"What am I going to do about those pictures?" His wounded eyes close at the thought of his Adi's privacy being violated, "It would destroy her Abhi... I can't bear to see her broken again..."

"I know but-"

"What if I lose her?" He finally meets Abhi's eyes, and Abhi sees him shattering. Abhi doesn't know what to say, he had never seen Zain this way. He just hugged him, patting his back slowly.

"The thought of those pictures make me feel sick." Zain whispered, his teeth still gritted. "Even if he doesn't leak them, it's on his phone. He can see her like that- I just-  i hate him. I want to fucking kill him."

"And I hate that she couldn't tell me-"

"Zain, no, don't get angry at her now-"

"What the hell am I supposed to do!?" He's rising in anger, almost growling like some wild animal as he storms out.

"Zain no-" Abhi calls out in vain, his head falls in to his hands helplessly.

...

He punches the wall, the strength in his fury already denting the wall completely. He ignores the blood pouring down his skin and hits the wall again, gritting his teeth to try and control the rage palpating through his body.

He growls out in agony, tears rolls down his face as he feels this disgusted grotesque feeling in his gut as thinks about her ex touching her, her not being able to confide in him. It all hurt, so much.

But he knew that if he yelled at her, she'd be hurt and that would be the most painful thing in the world to him.

"Zain what the hell are you doing?!" Aditi appears between him and the wall, grabbing his hand with terror stricken eyes, she looked down at his bloody hand in horror, small sobs leaving her lips.

"Oh god, meri jaan..." She gasps in a trembling voice, trying to blow soothing air over his wound between her cries. "Kitna daard ho raha hoga tumhe baba..."

She looked up at him with such innocent fear in her eyes, that he clenched his eyes shut to block out the pain, "Why are you hurting yourself like this?"

"Aditi move." He hissed under his breath, finding it difficult to manage the anger building up inside him and slamming his hand against the wall again. "Aditi. Move."

"Zain? Zain whats got in to you?" She takes his battered hand in to hers delicately, intertwining her fingers with his and using her other hand to cup their locked hands, lifting it to her lips.

She kissed his knuckles softly making him wince in pain, and flinch away from her, her face warps in worry "shit. Baba I'm so sorry..."

She takes the pallu of her saree she had worn in front of his parents and wipes the sweat running down his face, "come, I'll bandage it for you-"

"Don't touch me." He pushes her back slightly, leaving her in shock, starting at him in confusion. "Stay away. I don't want to hurt you."

"I know you Zain, you can never hurt me. You will never let anyone hurt me." She frowned and clung to his torso, wetting his shirt with her tears.

She presses sweet soft kisses along his shoulder, nuzzling her nose in to the nape of his neck. She knew she was his weakness, she could see his muscles relax slightly under her touch. "Zain what's going on?"

He gently pryed away both her hands from around him, and there was such heavy disappointment and pain in his eyes that her heart broke in to a million pieces, "I'm very angry right now Aditi. And I don't want to hurt you. I don't want to yell at you. Please..."

"Why are you shutting me out like this?!" Aditi called out in exasperation, pulling him on to her by his tshirt, making him grip on to her waist to steady her from falling.

As soon as his hands made contact with the softness of her bare waist, he moved away, turning his face to the side, it made him feel sick. It reminded him of the way her ex must have touched her. "Why are you doing this Zain? What have I done wrong?"

"What have you done wrong?" He laughs sarcastically, his eyes looked broken, betrayed. She cupped his cheek, wiping away the tear streaming down his raw cheek, knitting her eyebrows together. "Who am I to you?"

She narrows her eyes cluelessly, taken aback, "Who the hell am I to you Aditi Rathore?!"

She rubs his chest sweetly, trying to calm him down. She stumbles, her eyes filling seeing his cold behaviour, "My- my Zain"

"Your Zain?" He scoffs, shaking his head in disdain.

"My- my boyfriend..." She shook her head, that wasn't enough. How could she put in to words what he was to her? She started unbuttoning his shirt gently, unfolding the collar, like she always did. "My... everything..."

"Really?" His eyes were more wounded than his hands, as he grabbed her wrist to stop her. Her heart pounded, she had never seen a look like that in his eyes. She fisted his shirt in her shaking hand to try and gather herself.

His voice was sinister, the yell was filled with deafening rage, "My girlfriend was almost forced in to marriage, threatened with intimate photos, and touched up by her ex and didn't feel the need to tell me anything!?"

"Shit." She gasped under her breath, horrified.

It hit him like a dagger to see her face crumple, like a baby about to cry, it just made him angrier. Angrier that she had to go through this, angrier that she didn't share the pain with him. "Zain... I- I"

"Didn't you realise just how much it would hurt me?" She was gutted, his voice was so numb, tears trickled down her cheeks at the pain in his voice.

"Zain- I was just... I'm sorry." He didn't reply, he just averted his gaze, as if he couldn't bring himself to face her.

"I wasn't trying to hurt you Zain, believe me..." She caressed his hair gently, gazing at him in concern. His eyes closed in torment, at her sad voice, it stung. "I didn't want to hurt you."

"But I am hurt. I'm so fucking hurt Adi" His head fell down on to her shoulder, mumbling in to her skin. Her hand immediately went to the back of his neck, winding her arm around him protectively, her other hand cradled his head as if sheltering him like a small child.

She kissed his hair, small whimpers leaving her lips as she heard him weep in to her neck. "I'm so sorry..."

He pulled away to observe her in worry, his voice tiny, "Kyu chupaya mujhse? Is he blackmailing you? With those-"

He closed his eyes, as if he was trying to control himself, gulping slowly. "With those pictures-"

She nodded fearfully, and the agony in his heart was annihilating, harrowing.

He slammed his lips against hers, making her gasp in surprise. His hands snaked around her, squeezing her bare hips possessively. He grunted in pleasure as she arched her body to him, finally responding to the kiss.

"Zain?" She gasped breathlessly, pulling away to look at him. He growled in frustration and bit her bottom lip, tugging her back in to the kiss.

He ravished her lips and his fingers ran down her body, tracing patterns on her navel, frowning as he put every single bit of passion in to the way he moved his lips against hers.

It didn't feel right, he'd never been so rough before. It felt purely possessive, as if he was marking her. She didn't want to be touched in those sensitive places now, it just reminded her of her ex using her, she felt guilty as she retreated slightly.

She rubbed her nose against his cheek gently, "Not now Zain..."

He didn't listen to her in his blinding stupor of anger. He furrowed his brows in intensity as he nibbled at her lower lip so roughly that it drew blood, making her eyes water.

"Meri Adi... sirf mera..." He murmured huskily under his breath as his hand caressed her inner thigh protectively, his hot tears hitting her cheeks. He was so repulsed, revolted, furious at the thought of that bastard touching her the way only he was supposed to.

Her mouth fell open in shocked disappointment as she shoved him away, "Zain! I said stop!"

He stumbled back slightly, his jaw slackening in realisation, in guilt. "What are you doing Zain?"

"He touched you Adi! He touched you. And he hurt you. And I couldn't do anything about it..."  He yelled, red in the face, tears flooding down his cheeks and his voice cracking as he strained it.

He cupped her cheek desperately, and she saw that small scared boy in his eyes. It was in such rare moments that she saw it, the side of him that he always hid, worried and insecure.

His eyes lingered on her soft pillowy lips as he traced them with his thumb, "Your mine. He can't take you away from me... He can't.  He can't look at you the way I do. He can't talk to you the way I do. He can't touch you the way I do-"

But her eyes had changed as she threw his hand away, stepping back as if she didn't recognise him, "But I told you to stop. You always listen to me when I ask you to stop, today you- What's gotten in to you?"

"I don't- I just- I've gone mad Adi!Can't you see it's fucking killing me? I'm going fucking insane because that bastard laid his hands on you... can't you see how I how much it kills me to see you cry yourself to sleep? That you had to suffer all by yourself?!" He lashed out suddenly, pinning her against the wall, gripping to her stomach coarsely. His eyes were burning with torment. " I feel sick. Sick that I couldn't protect you! Sick that the beast dared to touch you!

She frowned as she tried to wriggle out of his grip but couldn't, she hit his chest with her fist in frustration, crying like a small child, crushing his heart, "The fact that he tried to touch me made you feel sick? I make you feel sick? My body makes you feel sick?"

He looked at her in surprise, his world crumbling down when he sees how broken she looked. He shook his head frantically, brushing his knuckles across her waist where his hand was resting, "No... no of course not I didn't say-"

"But I know it. I can see it Zain. You flinched when you touched me." Aditi muttered, her eyes downcast as her heart wallowed in pain.

"But don't you remember? Don't you remember Zain that he has already tortured me with those lustful stares and inappropriate touches? That he's already used me for his pleasure long before I met you? Does that make you love me less Zain?" She screeched in agony, weeping bitterly as she tried to shove his stiff body away. He closed his eyes unable to bear hearing it,  his lips shivering.

"Will you leave me? Because don't you remember Zain? That monster has fucked this corpse, he's fucked your girlfriend. "

Zain winced, as if in intolerable physical pain. As if those words had the power to literally tear his heart out of his chest.

She laughed sadistically at his reaction, "Does that make you feel too sick? Does that make me filthy Zain?"

"Adi baby no... don't say that-"

"Is that it Zain? Is that what you wanted to tell me? Is that why you're so angry? Did you realise you don't want someone so broken, fearful, scarred and dirty? Can't you love me anymore?" Her big innocent eyes looked in to his, imploring and heartbreaking, "Then It's better I leave-"

"Have you gone crazy?" He bellowed, furrowing his eyebrows as he pressed his finger against her lips. He looked devastated as he yanked her fragile body in to his broad chest as if he was hiding her away from the rest of the world.

"Lad lo, naraz ho jao, do whatever the fuck you want... par kabhi bhi jaane ki baat mat karo..." He warned her, angrier that she had ever seen him before in her life.

"Mera jaan nikal jaati hai tumse dhoor hone ki khayal se bhi Adi..." He whispers softly, his voice trembling slightly.

Her eyes welled up at the sincerity in his eyes. Her fingers instinctively ran down his stubble, trying to get him to unclench his jaw and she slowly stroked his tensed hands till he let go of his fists.

"Mein tumhe khudse bhi zyaada pyaar karti hu, tumhare bina mein kuch nahi hu... you know that..." He growled, his eyes were painfully bloodshot as he narrowed them at her.

His damp lips trace slowly down her neck, his husky panting making blissful tingles flutter in her stomach. He elicts a low moan from her body as his ever so soft lips feather gently yet so sensuously moves down her skin. He presses chaste kisses against her, carefully yet so possessively that it was animalistic.

He leaves open mouth kisses down the side of her breasts, slowly kneeling as he trailed down her stomach, caressing her navel as he grazed his lips down her thighs. She shuddered in emotion as he followed the exact trail that the monster had, as if replacing her ex's horrid touch with his loving one.

She whimpered quietly, her eyes scared as she stared at him innocently, his expression softened. He bundled her in to his arms, holding her close like a baby. He pecked her lips, cupping her cheek, "I don't care about anything else. I just can't lose you."

She didn't say anything, just burying her face in his neck grumpily, like a cranky child. He sighed sadly, smiling at her cute wriggling as he tickled the spot behind her ear to make her look up at him.

She pouted at him, furrowing her eyebrows at him. He pulled his ear, making his puppy eyes at her, "Did I hurt you?"

She nodded like a child, nudging him away. He pecked her forehead, his eyes glimmering with guilty tears, "I'm sorry, you know that your past will never change the way I love you... I just can't see you suffer anymore... I just want to protect you meri noor..."

She leaned up and bit his ear lobe, making  him wince loudly, looking at her shock. She giggled, her face finally lighting up, allowing him to smile, "You got so angry, khadoos!"

"Of course I got angry!" He exclaimed, tightening his grip on her, he hadn't moved his hand from around her for even a second. " And watch now, that bastard will regret even thinking about hurting you"

He rushed around frantically, buttoning his shirt and grabbing his phone, "I'll leave in a minute to find him, Abhi is here, Ammi and papa are here in case you need anything. And if you feel unsafe for even a second, call me immediately. I will come running back. Understand? Adi?-"

She grabbed his finger to stop him, surprising him by kissing his cheek. He looked at her in question as she bats her eyelashes at him, "Leave it na? Don't go..."

"What?" He stared at her blanked, completely baffled.

"Just forget it. Leave it now, I'm okay Zain-" She tried convince him as he glares at her, even her peppering kisses on his face didn't cheer him up.

"You expect me to let him get away with hurting my girlfriend?!"

"Its okay, Zain I-" She struggled to convince him, frantically searching for an excuse. "He didn't rape me-"

There was a terrifying moment of silence.

"Are you fucking kidding me right now Adi?" He yelled in disbelief, the pain clear in his eyes. "Are you being serious? I can't believe it."

"First, you promise you will tell me if you're ever in danger, or someone tries anything with you and you hide this from me. And now you're making excuses for him?!"She gulped back guilt as she sees the tears run down his face, she hated seeing him hurt, but she knew his temper well.

"And is that even an excuse? I would murder anybody who even thinks about touching you. I tear anybody's eyes out if they ever even once glanced at you the wrong way. And you think the fact that you escaped before he could anything is an excuse?!" He was furious. His eyes had changed, she had never seen them so dark with fury.

She panicked, clutching to his collar because she could tell from that look in his eyes that it wasn't an empty threat. She was sure that if she let him go, if he got his hands on Karthik now, he would kill him. He wouldn't even think twice.

"Please Zain. I hate this. I hate your temper." She pleaded with him, rubbing the back of his neck gently, but he was way too far gone in his rage. "Just leave it, nothing will come of it now. i'm here with you, I'm safe. There is no point causing more trouble now...."

"Do you have any idea what he could have done to you? Do you have any idea what I went through when I found out what happened?!" He grabbed her roughly by the stomach, grimacing at her in anger. She fell in to his chest in surprise, watching him, expressionless.

"He has those photos. Don't you understand? I can't sit here, I can't eat, I can't sleep- I can't even breathe properly thinking of him taking advantage of you like that- you didn't think of me even once before hiding this from me!?-"

She flinched as it stung, trying to pull away from his painful grip, "Zain stop..."

She cried out as his thumb pressed in to her belly, "Zain please- Zain its hurting!"

He froze, looking down to see that he was pressing in to the bruise that monster had left behind from years of abuse. He jumped away immediately, horror filling his eyes as his hand shook in guilt.

All the thoughts of the pain she had gone through flash in his mind, making him bite back his tears. His sadness channelled in to his anger as he stormed out.

Aditi sat on the bed, taking the pillow from his side of the bed and cuddling it close to her. She cried loudly, fear in her stomach, having no idea what Zain would end up doing in his rash rage.

Teaser for next part-

"Chachi? Chachi aap roh rahi hu?" Inaaya kneeled on her lap, frowning in worry. She used her thumb to wipe away the tears on her cheeks making Aditi weep louder.

"Chachu aap ke saath naraz hogaya?" Inaaya asked with a cute angry face, hugging Aditi as tight as her tiny hands could, "agar chachu aapko choot pauchaya hai mein usse kabhi nahi baat karegi..."

Aditi cracked a small smile seeing her inaaya's love and concern, she kissed her hair, shaking her head, "Nahi chachu ki galati nahi hai... meri galati hai inaayu..."

"Abhi bhi gussa ho?" She lisped fearfully, as she cuddled in to his side. He didn't reply, sighing at the ceiling as he held her closer to his chest protectively. He tried to steady his breathing, closing his eyes momentarily, trying to remind himself that his Adi was right there with him, safe.

"Are you still scared?" He croaked, his throat stinging with the tears he didn't let out. She buried her face in to his neck, so he couldn't see her eyes turning moist.

She hugged his upper arm with both her arms, she threw her leg over him, wrapping it around his waist and burrowing herself in his arms. She sniffed and he immediately moved his hand to caress her head, she grinned at his care, kissing the hand he caressed her with, "Tum hai na? Kyu Daru?"

He smiled at her softly, kissing her earlobe slowly, "I won't let a single thing happen to you...  you know that... but I don't want that bastard to affect you in anyway. I don't want to see those stupid tears in your eyes, I don't want to see you have those panic attacks or stay up all night with nightmares, it kills me."

"I'm sorry...-"

"No Adi. It's not your fault, I just- I want to take you to a therapist." She looked at him in surprise, her body tensing and grasping to his neck in fear. She looked at him in question, so vulnerable, that he felt his heart shatter. "You'll be okay, I'd be there all the way, but I can't see you like this anymore."

...

just a note- her ex's name was randomly generated
