A girl enters into a hotel with her luggage and goes to the reception to check in.

" Good Evening Mam! Welcome to Royal Palace Delhi. How may I help you?"

"I had my booking over here for a room."

"But Mam! All rooms are full!"

"What!! How is it possible?"

"What was the name by which you booked the room?"

"Ragini Sinha as per my Aadhaar Card. It holds this name."

"Let me check mam."

"Hmmm! Could you please do it fast? I have an important meeting tomorrow!"

"Yes Mam!"

"Hmmm!"

After checking for a while,

"Mam the room to be alloted to you is already given to Mr. Sinha.. I guess there is a confusion. Cuz some man with same surname Sinha is living there! Maybe your hus---"

"What must be my husband doing here? And by the way I am --------"

Only then a man interrupts and asks the receptionist for something-

"Hello! My parcel was about to come."

"Mam he is the only one...Mr. Sanskaar Sinha."

Ragini looks towards him. The person reveals to be:-

She says to him..

"Mr. Sanskri...Kra...uhh whatever it be... yeah Mr. Sinha please just leave the room in you are living cuz I booked it...Before you can argue see my booking confirmation."

He was shocked.

"Excuse me madam I too have a booking confirmation. And as I came here before and I am living here so it's better if you go out of here."

"Just see the etiquettes of the man...Don't you how to talk to a woman?"

"First see yours...Don't you know how to talk politely...You started first..It wasn't the way!!!"

"Now you 'll teach me?"

"Who wants such a dumb student!"
The receptionist was watching first Sanskaar then Ragini simultaneously...With a horror expression.

"Mam sir wait!"

"No no no...! This man should get to know that I booked the last room of hotel with full advance payment. So technically the room is mine."

"Even I did the full advance payment so technically the room is mine also."

"Mam sir plz..."

"Shut up...If you arent giving me this room, I'll sue you."

"If you are asking me to leave the room then I'll sue you..!"

"Plzz plzz mam sir, dont make my job to go from hands off. Plz I request you. Madam you seem understanding plz co-operate."

Ragini's face becomes dull. Just then Sanskaar speaks:
"Its fine. Its Raining too much. Give her the keys. Where would she go now? Ill check some other place."

"Thank you so much sir, even you are very smart..mam here, your keys."

But suddenly Ragini speaks:-

"You are giving me this room because you think I cant find one for me!! I am a girl so there are deadlines for me...no going out after 7pm..but boys are allowed to enjoy. I cant take my decisions because I am a girl but you can dominate even us..! Keep this choti soch with you only. You take this room and I'll show you that I will get a better room than you..!"

Sanskaar smiles.

"Okay then."

And he continues talking to the receptionist.

"I am going."

He turns towards her and says:-

"Ok..go!"

"I dont ned your permission..I can go by myself!"

"Hmmmm...then bye Ms. Sinha!"

"Whatever.."

She turns to go and moves till the gate but then stops again. Takes a deep breath and returns back to him again.

"Why should I go? This is my room!"

"Changed your decision? Fickle minded!"

"Just shut up okay! Give my keys.."

The receptionist hands over her keys and she snatches it from her then storms off... Sanskaar takes a sigh of relief.

In the room,

Ragini was taking out her clothes from the bag only whrn a knock is heard. She goes and opens the door to find Sanskaar standing there.

She lets him in thinking he would be here to take his belongings but he sits on the bed and starts removing his shoes.

"What! What are you doing?"

"Removing shoes!"

"I have packed all of your belongings..You should leave know!"

"Look I am really sorry but no room is available right now. Its the matter of 1 night only. I promise, I wont come in your way.."

"Aaarrggh! Okay fine! But I'll take the bed!"

"You can...but when I checked in I was sweaty and I direcyly laid on it. Incase stingy smell comes manage it."

"Eeeeeeeeeee! Fine Take it.'
She says irritated and goes.

Its dinner time by now and both of them are in their night suits. Sanskaar was working on his laptop on the bed while Ragini went to the table where telephone was kept. She sat on the chair in front of it and dialed restaurant's number.

"Hello"

"Hello I am speaking from room no. 146...I want to order food."

"What would you like to have mam?"

"Which is the best local dish of here?"

" Veg Kolhapuri is the bestseller mam."

"Okay! Superb..So make it one veg kolhapuri and 2 chapatis."

Listening to her order Sanskaar immediately says:-

"Kolhapuri is really really really spicy..dont order it.."

"I know it..(She says giving him a straight face then gets back to the call) ..ya make it fast pls."

"Ok Mam."

And she keeps the call.
Sanskaar shruggs his shoulders and then orders something for himself.

Soon their orders come and Ragini sits on the chair and Serves herself.

She takes the first bite and phuuuuussshhhhh!!! The chillies in the food makes her cry like anything. She keeps on wiping her tears with the tissues but doesnt stop eating. As if she wasnt eating for herself but to show him that she can eat it. Sanskaar was enjoying very much.

"I told you it has lots of chillies but you didnt listen to me!"

Ragini rolls her eyes.
She keeps on making sounds with her nose and wiping tears. This time Sanskaar gets a concerned and says..

" Listen....give that to me I'll eat it and you take mine.."

"Why? I am loving it! Thank you!"
She again gives a straight answer.
He makes a face and then resumes eating his own food.

2 hours passed and they completely ignored each other. Ragini called for an extra matteress and laid down on it trying to sleep.

Here, Sanskaar switched on the TV.
Her sleep got disturbed and she asked him in a calm yet irritated tone.

"What are you doing? Cant you see I am trying to sleep!?"

"Actually not, since I was looking at the TV."
He gave a satcastic answer. She takes a sigh and thinks that it would be no use of fighting or argueing now so now she tries to make him understand.

"Please reduce the volume, I have an early morning meeting tomorrow, can I please sleep?!"

He sighs and then reduces the volume but not before leaving a comment and she again lays down closing her eyes but listening to him again opening them:-

"Well, it's good to watch news sometimes. You have a meeting tomorrow, you might sound smarter atleast."

She frowns and immediately gets up with a jerk to reply back.

"I dont need to sound smart. I AM smart."
She forces on the word AM then continues..

"And have you taken the full responsibility for whole world's smartness?? Huh?"
Her anger increases.
But he was still calm. She continues with sarcasm and anger....

" You know what is best for everybody.....For the whole world....! You know what is best for you and even what is best for me!! And you want me to be happy!!"
She was very angry but he remained calm.

"Yes...And you know that..!"

She frowns and says being irritated.
"Just leave it..!"
And again lies down facing her back to his bed and him. He looked towards her and then sighed. Removed his specs and kept them in the case and switched off the TV. He was about to sleep only when Ragini immediately got up and started shouting on him:-

"So where were you when I needed you?!!!! Tell me! You back stabbed me!!"

He still remained calm.
She continued...

"You were not there in the biggest decision of my life....Did you hear that..BIGGEST decision.. I fought alone with Ma, Papa, Grandpa ...! You sided with them not me...!! Why?"

He answered calmly...

"Cuz I was trying to look out for my little sister. Thats why!"

"By crushing my dreams? You couldnt trust me to be able to find a good guy for myself?"
She asked him in a hurt tone.

"Its nothin---------"

"The most important person of my life was not there in my wedding....you were not there Bhai....you were not there!!"
Tears were rolling down now from her eyes.. she continued...

"You were not there when I got married, when I got pregnant, not even when I had Riya....Tell now!"

This time he didnt keep quite..

" You think I enjoyed doing all this?
At...at that time you weren't listening to anybody!!! We never met Laksh in person....how could I say a yes then? Any sane brother will think for atleast 10 times.....What would I have said then that Go just marry the stranger!!
What are you saying? "
He too now had his tone higher..

She too said now.

" You are not just any brother..., Neither I am just any sister nor Laksh is any random guy!! He is the best husband I could ever ask for..! You should have trusted my judgement! That's all I expected!"

"Its not that I don't trust...You are really precious for me..! I could never ever be able to see you in any sort of problem..That's why I was being protective...afterall you are my little sister. I care for you..I love you...and I want only good for you! All I was saying was, take sometime...and give us sometime..make us meet him and his family..let us judge him because it was a very important decision.. Marriage is a very big deal....you were being patientless..!"
Ragini had closed her eyes for controlling her emotions..her one finger was on forehead but then she said in a really really hurt tone...

" If I am that precious to you then why didnt you call me in all these 4 years Bhaiya? Not even for once!! And you know what? You hurted me the most by this act of yours.!"

Even Sanskaar's eyes were red and teary by now..

"What about you? You also didnt call me even for once!"

"How could I? You clearly told me that if I married Laksh then I should never contact you!"

"I said that for effect just to stop you...You were very very stubborn...You werent understanding me! I said it in anger..I didn't mean that!"

"If you didn't mean it then how couldypu never call me? Answer me! That was the last time..are you getting it? The last time you actually heard of me!"
She was crying by now...
He too had tears in his eyes..

" Its all because I- I couldn't face you! Afterall that happened. And its not that I don't care about you...I have my eyes on you always.....I follow you on socials and keep a track of what you are upto. And I am happy that you proved me wrong because- because Laksh is a very good person....He loves you a lot and Riya..she is a cute baby. "

She smiles a lil.
Sanskaar continues...

" You posted that video of yours and Riya where she is playing with your hairs...that was a really cute video. Huuuuuuufff you should sleep...tom-tomorrow is your meeting.."
Ragini was sitting lowering her head making circles with her fingers on the pillow. Sanskaar gets up from the bed and goes from there. He stops on the gate and says:-

"Listen!"

She looks towards him.

" I am sorry I didn't do what you expected."

And he goes... She buries her face in her hands and starts crying.

Here Sanskaar was near poolside sitting on the bench remembering what happened that time. He got separated from the most important person of his life.

Only then she comes there and sits beside him.
He looks towards her and she says:-

"I am sorry."

"Why are you sorry?"

"Because I didnt trust you either! You didnt do what I expected you to do, because you were doing what was expected of you."

Ragini takes out her rubber band from her hairs...

"Give me your hand."

She gets shocked on seeing her 4 years old raakhi still on his hand which she made him wear.

"Are you serious bhaiya?"

He smiles a lil.

" Still?"

He nods. She smiles back.

"Today is Raksha Bandhan."

She makes him wear her rubber band. Then applies imaginary teeka on his forehead to which he too acts like he is being applied a real one.

"Are you kidding me? Now I have to wear this telephonic wire for a full year now?"

"That's your punishment."

"Get me a better one next year."
Both chuckle lightly.

"How did we lose so much time Bhaiya?"

"Let's forget the past and move on now. Maa Baba had been missing you so much."

"Me too.."

"I missed you!"
He says punching lightly on her shoulder.

"Ditto!"

Even she punched him lightly. He chuckled and then took her into his embrace.

And the screen blurs on brother and sister enjoying the moment they got. The family united and Laksh was accepted whole heatedly. Finally Riya too got her full family.

💙A big brother or sister will especially not want anyone to mess with her little sibling. She/he will protect you almost as if you are his/her child. Growing up, our big brothers or sisters are often our role models. We aspire to be like them and often copy them in many ways.💛
