Frostwing:.....*sighs* I'll say this, I enjoyed the overall episode and possibly one of best ones there is now and even how Discord got the last laugh in the end saving Equestria and Fluttershy

Saffira: But?

Frostwing: However... I COMPLETELY disagree with the outcome and their explanations on it. It really felt like they completely wank Bill and nerf Discord. He should've won this and even in the black boxes showcase that he should've won.

Abyss: Yeah, not gonna lie it really felt that they completely wank and misinterpreting stuff. Heck, even some Bill Fans thought he should've lost

Paia: Feel bad for the mlp series, like they don't give them the respect they deserve at all

Frostwing: Honestly, at least they buy Multi+ mlp so I'll take that as a win too, now what's ne-

Abyss: Cole Vs Alex? Didn't see that coming, both ballot winners fights back to back.

Paia: Yeah, so now this means will be going into the rest of the season blind.

Frostwing: True, if BillCord animation was this good, wonder how Cole Vs Alex will be like

A/N: Now before this chapter ends I wanna bring up a few points in the episode where it felt like they didn't wanna give Discord the win

1. First of all going into this Black Box

Gravity Falls, Amphibia, The Owl House, Rick & Morty are not a shared Multiverse and are only mere references to the franchises because Alex Hirsch worked on them with that logic meaning that Rick & Morty is canon for mlp of course Not only are they meta-fictional references and with Transformers, we don't even know what versions of the autobots they are and could be an alternate variant of the G1. Furthermore, the Nightmare Realm does not encompass anything, it only connects other dimensions such as travel points, it does not give any real scale of power

2. In this black box it is not something for debate as it is just some personality of the character with Bill

3. Discord is LITERALLY the CONCEPT of chaos personified of the idea itself without Discord the chaos disappears and therefore upon returning from it he obtains better regeneration... this Fluttershy thing is just her fear

Here is a clip as well so you all can hear for yourself

4. This black box is a fatal error, first they admit that magic affects spirits and then they come to you with a lie when the series shows it clearly to you... Bill did not survive being erased, he literally died, there are no real indications that he is alive and what saved him was axalotl

And 5. This black box doesn't even explain anything, it just tells you something that everything is known and that's it. Even so, the very few things that Bill has would not save him from Discord's abilities.

A few other things as well,

Bill has NEVER shown the ability to eliminate souls. Ever. Not once Bill did that in Gravity Falls

And also

"My Little Pony magic affects spirits like the Windigos"

That's very vague, and not the entire story. The magic that drove off the Windigos was Friendship Magic (in the penultimate episode, and in the origins of Equestria). Discord's chaos magic is powerful enough to manipulate that kind of magic, and he has been able to negate it entirely (Season 2) by, let's see, affecting the host's minds.

Now, how was Bill defeated? A form of mind manipulation, right? Memory Gun? There's literally nothing stopping Discord from doing the same thing.

Friendship magic and Chaos magic are not the same. Friendship magic is supposed to be the most powerful form of magic (alongside magic from artefacts according to Neighsay), and Discord has manipulated it with Chaos magic (the Elements of Harmony and their respective hosts) in literally his FIRST appearance.

and there was some stuff being forgotten or misconstrued on Discord's end that would have actually helped net him the win

Also, the conclusion stated that Discord is too carefree, and Bill goes all out against foes that are close to his power, right?

And Yet in Kenobi vs Kakashi, they said in regards to Jedi being OP:

"But when you enter a Death Battle, throw those morals out the window. We're looking at who wins a no holds barred fight to the death."

So by their own logic, they should've allowed Discord to go all out from the off.

Additionally, they have stated before in Cable vs Booster that personality distinctions only matter in their own worlds. So why now do personality traits matter?

This whole battle just reeks of bias. They wanted Bill to win this, so they dug as deep as they could to find a super specific win condition, and made up some random BS to try and justify it as the most likely outcome.

A/N: like I'm VERY disappointed and upset at the way they did the explanation as it's the complete opposite of what they explained earlier

Like I know both series well, ESPECIALLY being a big mlp fan, and normally I wouldn't get this upset if a favorite character of mine loses. Examples being Widowmaker and Ryuko. HOWEVER, I already knew that they'll lose and the explanation on them losing was well written and make sense

This however, feels like the new Ben 10 Vs Green Lantern. Where they say one thing in the analysis, and in the explanation part they say something the complete opposite
